In December 2016, Imahara became engaged to his long-time girlfriend, costume designer Jennifer Newman.

There was still so much more for Grant to do, so much more to experience and enjoy.

R.I.P.

I still can't believe it, a world treasure just gone like that...

This news brought me to tears. Grant was my favorites on a show that taught me to think critically. Thank you Grant for who you were.

Haven't you caused enough pain 2020?!

My dad was age 49 when I lost him. Losing someone that young leaves an extra sting.

Gone too soon. Like a beautiful sunset at noon.

I unashamedly had such a crush on him, but regardless he was far too young & talented to go. He will be missed by many.

My heart is so broken. He seemed like such an awesome man.

Geoff Peterson was such a great part of the Craig Ferguson show.

I didn’t believe you, so I googled. Preview of his Wiki said “is”. Clicked, and it said “was”.

I can't believe he was 49! He looks so much younger.

5 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Gotta figure, Mythbusters came out close to 20 years ago. Where has the time gone my friend?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Those asian genes!

Asian genetics my dude.

Such a handsome man! RIP

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I saw him in person a few years ago, must've been about 47. He didn't look any older than he did on Mythbusters when I was a kid.

This was him at 45. https://giphy.com/gifs/S3yY1mnSHdzoJ5TPza

5 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Aneurysms my third greatest fear....

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They can happen anywhere, at anytime.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How is it possible for a young person to get one? He looked pretty young. (Just curious)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Genetics= number one risk factor

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aneurysms can happen without obvious cause. Around age 40-50, there’s a sharp increase in incidence/mortality of some types IIRC.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's possible for anyone to get one

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Aneurysms can come from heredity disposition, simple weakness in a blood vessel or as many cases old age weakening your blood vessels.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Simply put it means you could die anytime without having a single clue about what is happening to you

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That's how my dad went.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Frankly, everyone with the means to should do a full checkup at least once a year. Scans and everything. There are so many things that /1

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

can just end us with little warning if they arent caught early. /2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I agree with the sentiment, but we’re not at the point where a yearly MRI is feasible or diagnostically relevant for the avg person.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Which is why I specifically said "If you have the means". I know it is not for the average person, of course.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or if you don't live in the US just go get checked for little to no cost

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

What a great misconception about healthcare abroad! You can't just show up without symptoms and say "I want a free brain CT scan."

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Its this kind of shit that makes changing the US health care system an even bigger fight

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There's no "checkup" in the world that covers an MRI, you need symptoms to get one otherwise is $4000+

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Actually, now that I think about it, having had one myself for a potential aneurysm, they're literally prescription. Can't get one without.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I realize. Which is why I said "if you have the means" and "Scans and everything".

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right, but literally no one in America has "the means", outside of having $5,000 a year.
