Tho im not sure why Australia doesnt have any gates to prevent this from happening..

The woman survived with a shock and maybe some brown pants.

Not defending stupidity but newer light rails are quiet.

That isn't Australia... first off, Australia DOES have gates.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Auckland Transport! So not Australia

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Even with gates people are still finding a way to be idiots. Source : saw a girl die crossing with headphones and texting even with tunnel

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SHE LITERALLY HAD TO WALK TOWARDS IT BEFORE TURNING TO CROSS. DID YOU JUST MISS THE TRAIN SIZED OBJECT DRIVING TOWARDS YOU

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Australia doesn't have gates because if you can't survive this, how are you going to survive your environment? Darwinism.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there is an arrow warning to look to the left

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idiota

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like to point out that the AT on the side of the train stands for Auckland transport and Auckland is in New Zealand not Australia

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have checked road before. Saw car coming and still walked out nearly getting run over. Mind can play dangerous tricks on you sometimes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's auckland, new zealand.. not aussie. also what a idiot its as if she ignored the sign that says look for trains and the flashing light

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well you would think the flashing lights and the fucking noise would be a good give away. She's the reason gates are being installed now

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That train stopped on a relative dime.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it was just pulling into the station. How do I know? It is my station and I saw this happen!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most stations have gates that open and close, but it's annoying. Fucking look.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

are the flashy lights not enough? ppl need gates?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my area, people commit suicide by walking in front of trains mostly in the evening to fuck up train schedules. Why not do it in the 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Afternoon when it's not rush hour??? 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Big ole lights flashing right up there as a warning, yet doesn't even look... Somehow, now we need gates too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Australia doesn't have any gates to prevent this from happening because it happened in New Zealand. It says Mt Eden right there at the top

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

There's literally a sign showing which direction to look for the train and she still missed it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The best part is that she's walking in the direction she failed to look.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's literally a sign with an arrow that says "<-----look".

9 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 0

I think it may say <--look-->, but still

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She couldn't spot a fucking train you think she'll notice a little sign like that? Seems like she's competing for the Darwin award.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

"Look ... oh, an opening in the fence! Thank you, sign!"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The special part is she was walking toward the train and still didn't see it.

Dumb ways to die... so many dumb ways to die

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It is a new Zealand train. in-bound for britomart its the main train station in auckland.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes it's a novelty when someone does not die from dingos, or snakes riding dingos, where when they bark they bark spiders.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

They figure Australians are always on the lookout for stuff trying to kill them.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

She was looking in the direction the Train was coming from to begin with and still missed it :S

9 years ago | Likes 168 Dislikes 5

Trains move a lot faster than people realize. 70mph doesn't seem fast when you're going 65mph next to it, but when you're walking...

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 5

You're not wrong but, that train was going about 14 mph (22.5 kmh).

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think both ways should be capitalized. Not before. She looks right before she crosses, just not left.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Normally trains in NZ use the left hand track, and she's crossing the right hand track. She didn't think to look both ways!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm from new orleans and there's tons of one ways. You better look both ways or you'll regret it!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the other problem is that where she's crossing to is the station, and then there's another crossing on the other side :S

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She looks after crossing as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Australia does have gates at rail crossings and secondary escape gate incase it closed before you crossed. You just dont see it

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not all crossings have the gates for pedestrians, but that could just be Adelaide... we slow af to upgrade.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Australia doesn't have gates because that's New Zealand not Australia

9 years ago | Likes 410 Dislikes 0

They are basically the same thing, just ask any Australian.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

Utah doesn't have gates

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have some gates like that here too. I can see one out the window right now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I was gonna say

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im from NZ but live in Aussie. This place has ramps over railway lines without gates exactly like that here too

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This needs more points.. @op correct that shit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Either way

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Actually my home town has a crossing exactly like that. Source - Aussie from Victoria

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was going to say - we have gates!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Burnie Tasmania has gates just like that next to a playground. Our way of weeding out the dumb kids

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are you a Tasmanian? If so, I have questions

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am, feel free to ask away

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most of these crossings have been removed- ramps and other walkways have replaced them

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Was gunna say this looks like the one near my place then I saw the text in the corner. It is the one near my place!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not in south Australia

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think you'll get ramps once you get an actual energy grid that works

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We both know SA doesn't have the money to do that, they still trying (badly) to fix our shitty roads that were meant to be completed by 2011

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry but we now claim this clip, Just like Russel Crowe, Pavlova and Crowded House.

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

It says mt Eden at the top left of the screen. Is that a place in Australia? Although you're probably right on the three things.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it isn't, it is now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We'll keep Mahe Drysdale and Scott Dixon. Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and John Clarke...RIP...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Phar Lap did win all his races in NZ you arsehole he won them here!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can keep the horse, we have Black Caviar now

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
