These machines terrify me to the core of my being.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't fool me, Orgalorg

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please don’t cut your finger off please don’t cut your finger off. Let me rewatch to make sure he doesn’t cut his finger off

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He RISKED his fingers for that!?!?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What kind of saw is that? Looks really dangerous.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dont tell me what to do

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Carter products.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How????

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would have lost about 12 fingers and a spleen doing that.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like to make, tiny reindeer

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if you make 200 of these a day your hands should never be getting that close to the blade. Coming from an experienced woodworker.

7 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 2

Agreed

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thankfully a bandsaw is one of the safer tools but yeah, this have me hella anxiety

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Had a prof. in school lose two and a half fingers to a bandsaw.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah thats not an uncommon story with saws, had a shop teacher in hs with a missing finger from wood working

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I loved the woodshop but I never went near the table saw, all the saws I was wary of but that scared the crap out of me

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Table saws will literally kill you under the right circumstances. They scare the hell outta me

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love all the safety whining from people who don't know who Alex Snodgrass is. He's one of the most proficient bandsaw artists out there.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

IDGAF if he is world famous. He is still setting a TERRIBLE example for people to follow.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thanks I was going to say the same. He's a great guy and the go-to expert on all things bandsaw.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's like worrying about a professional race car driver going too fast.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Even pro drivers have horrible car crashed. Bad example.

I lost 3 fingers just watching this...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just saw him in person at a show today. Incredible

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Very cool.

Hello from Baltimore!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Look up degloved fingers. Make you think about wearing a ring around a bandsaw

7 years ago | Likes 274 Dislikes 4

Met a kid with this the other day. Fell off a fence and his finger stayed on it. Yikes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well it’s not the working fingers. I’ve seen HANDS degloved, this is not worrying to me, but it only takes once. You make a good point.

I have a metal-oriented shop. Wood cutting tools scare me. Everything in a wood shop is sharper and moves 10X faster.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree, but I doubt that he can even get the ring off his finger at this point

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How does the ring cause that?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mmmmm... Tasty

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

v

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Im gonna do you a favor here and warn you not to do that search

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, nope. I'm good. Thanks anyway.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

that's the first thing i thought

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can somebody explain how a degloved finger would look like? I'm too scared to see pictures, but still kinda medically interested...

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Watch american dad when roger is in love with haley. Jeff does a thumbs up without skin. Like that but not drawn

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah thanks, now I get that "degloved" term. And a ring would act like the degloving blade when it comes to certain accidents, right?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine if you were talking your time off but as you did the layers of skin came off with it and you were left with the exposed flesh.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Having witnessed a degloved finger myself, I'll never wear a ring anywhere unless it's silicon or has a weakspot/slot built in to it

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

I almost always wear my silicone ring. The real one only comes out for special occasions.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Silicone ring ;)

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Blade looks to small for it to be a bandsaw. I'm going to say scroll saw especially for how precise he makes it.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Definitely a bandsaw with those bearings and guides.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It'll be a bandsaw but it's using a much smaller blade similar to a scroll saw's for much more control.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No rings in the shop. This it should ever be.

7 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

I bought a rubber wedding band for work. It's designed to snap if it gets caught on anything, and doesn't conduct electricity.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Seems like a good alternative.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I give two dozen shop safety lectures a year. I always say my wife of 30 years wants a ten fingered husband not one that wears a ring daily.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

...why did I search that?

7 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

It was nasty. Operational word here is "mangled".

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So that you think about that image every time you see someone operating rotating machinery with rings on and can slap them for their idiocy.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Because you hate yourself.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It can never be unseen!
