When was this plate a part of your life?

I-I still have and use those plates....Whaaa like its not just me? Like other people have them?

My family has a Corelle plate set (like everybody else in the world, based on the comments) but ours is blue instead of gold.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure my grandparents still use those plates.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've never seen one but they look like Corelle plates. Are they?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Corelle is the Nokia of dishware

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you didn't have a set you know friends that did

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

I'm pretty sure you only aquire these from not returning a relatives plate back after they were nice enough to let you use it for leftovers

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm eating off of one right now haha

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My parents had a new set still in the box from their weddings that I recently required as a 25 year old. Thrift stores supplemented the set.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I INHERITED A SET OF THESE FROM MY GRANDPARENTS

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

ME TOO!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These are the Gramma plates, and mugs and bowls. My favourite was boiled dinner with fresh rolls.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same here. Mine was macaronada with myzithra cheese and browned butter sauce.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like I showed up to the right party

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

What do you mean? Are there, like, other plates?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Rediculous portions of lo mein in college" plate

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

great grandma's pancake plates :D

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Mine could make elephants!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ours was blue bordered corelle.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So many great meals off of the plates

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My clumsy boyfriend manged to break almost every plate iv ever bought, but these babies are indestructible!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If the Corelle are broken within 3 years of purchase the company will replace them!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Update...he broke it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Murphy's Law!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of my white friends fam had these. I'm Spanish so that means we had different designs for every plate and bowl.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Jeff Foxworthy: If you had a whole set of matching salad bowls - and they all said "coolwhip" you might be a redneck

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cool wh-ip. Say it right

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those were our tupperware; for storage, not for eating! :D

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How did you get my grandma's plates?

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You mean my grandma's plates

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fight me

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That plate is made for meatloaf, mashed potatoes and niblets.

10 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 0

Mmm, niblets, just like grandma used to microwave

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

My parents refer to these plates as the 'good china'. Mom breaks them out whenever I go home to visit.

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

That's how you know she loves you.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My mom requests that these plates be used in lieu of the good china for dishes like microwavable nachos or leftovers.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We used a lot of Tupperware....only because mom sold it. And we were notorious for using our plates as a frisbee.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These were the children-fuck-up-nice-things plates we were given when we visited our aunt and uncle on the farm for Thanksgiving.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Corelle Butterfly Gold? My mom is collecting them from second hand stores for my wedding and I don't know how to tell her to stop it.

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Have a big, fat Greek wedding and break them to 'celebrate'.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

introduce mom to ebay. I bought a massive set for $80

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

ROFL! Sorry, so sorry.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

① Corelle has always had a huge collector's following. Take the pieces graciously. Pack them. Save them. Sell them when you're 60 years old.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

② Granted, that was a very produced pattern, but they're still worth a bit today and the price will be much higher in 30+ years.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

--to be gracious without enabling.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like you think I'm being cutesy when I use the word "hoarder." We're talking psychological-meltdown-hoarder, and I don't know how--

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was no (1) in your original comment, which didn't say "hoarder" nor had any implications of hoarding, so I didn't know it was part 1.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're right! I mixed your comment up with a different one. Sorry about that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sounds like the opposite of a problem

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

20 berry bowls, and an assortment of larger serving bowls and platters. Plus two complete sets of the matching Pyrex.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I collect Pyrex. It's worth good money. However, that's a lot of plates!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right? But she's kind of a hoarder, and now there are over 250 dinner plates, 150 salad plates, 80 bowls, 50 coffee cups with saucers...

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thats going to be worth bank, and would be AMAZING gifts to give away to others. Getting a full set of those from a freind would be killer!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone who has sold it on Ebay quite a lot.... I am sooooooo jealous. Shes giving you quite the goldmine.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The butterfly-goldmine, if you will.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never seen it before...

10 years ago | Likes 252 Dislikes 12

Same

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Me neither

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ditto is this an American thing?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to this American

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Are you an American?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

User name does not check out.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Corelle?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same here.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

We had the plates with a sorta green rim, does that count?

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

My Nana has those. Smaller pattern?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have the same ones but with a blue pattern.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

i have 2 kinds http://imgur.com/SWnKWbz

10 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

Blue rule! I proudly keep mine displayed on my open kitchen shelves. Useful and decorative!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still have the blue ones :)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We have a couple of the blue ones. Hello plate twin!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah now the blue ones! My parents still have these. :)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE BLUE ONES!! We had green ones though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have the blue! From great grandma. My mom has a lighter blue set and some with a green stripe and a floral center.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had the tan ones, best friend next door had the blue ones.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We had both of those!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandmother has the blue ones! She the only one I know who owns them!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

me too

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never seen the blue

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Totino's pizza is on a blue one right now!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oh my god my grandma has millions of the blue ones

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I WAS THINKING THEY LOOKED FAMILIAR BUT THE WRONG COLOR

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have the blue ones! I had no idea they were so common. I don't think I've actually run into them elsewhere IRL.

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Really? I think all 4 sets of my grandparents had a different color but the same thing... I think I have a couple in my cupboard too.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I also have the blue ones!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The blue ones were for fancy dinners.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have both of theses patterns as well.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have my grandmother's, mother's and my own. All 6 -8 place servings each.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had the blue ones for awhile, inherited them from my grandma. Corelle is the brand.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just ate dinner off this plate http://imgur.com/rWMwdYj

10 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

*furiously washes plate after seeing post*

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like to think you made that years ago, in the hope that it would be relevant one day

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They're on to me

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I used to have that cutlery set, I thought I was the only one wtf is this

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The date checks out sir.... it's real.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cutlery is also legit

wait what the fuck I have several bowls that look exactly like that, where do they even come from

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

THEY COME WITH BOWLS????

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They came with the BF, who's under age 30. Origin unknown.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

WHERE DO THESE COME FROM AND WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY OF THEM

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yah brah?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Makes me want arroz con pollo.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have all these too. I didn't realize this was a thing everyone had.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I believe my mother has the cups as well. Has never used them, but she has them.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

THE CUPS MY MOM NEVER USED THEM TOO I DONT KNOW WHY

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cereal tastes better in those bowls.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have the full set too

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have an 8 piece set, same pattern. Screw being outdated, shit takes a beating and doesn't break.

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Tell that to marble counters.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a 10 piece set. Up that infuriated.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I shit you not. Dropped on of the plates down the steps the other night. Put a dent in my top step.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Show me!!

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Are they the ones with the metal core in them?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. Just quality ceramics.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember the Spaghettio bowls?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sadly, I never had one.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But you remember them?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think an entire generation was issued these plates at birth and they keep getting passed down.

10 years ago | Likes 394 Dislikes 0

I think my gramma had almost this exact pattern. Corelle plates were almost indestructible. But explosive.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They were wrapped in these rugs at birth too

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have literally never seen these before in my life.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was supposed to get these plates after my grandparents pass. But , their house burnt down so I don't get them. Still a bit sad,.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The pattern has been mass produced in recent years, my mom has some of Pyrex with that pattern as well as some cheep China, same pattern

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had no idea this was a thing. These were 100% the plates of my childhood and my mom still has them

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: the symbols on the rim are a cipher for unlocking the secret to immortality

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

I always saw 2 flowers and a cow head.......anyone?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know I was thinking the Illuminati had something to do with them.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Is that why my grandmother is 85 and lives like she's 18

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My mom has these but they are blue not brown. What happened?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pics or it didn't happen.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Seriously, how does Corelle make any money!?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because they don't chip. They either survive or detonate.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly! I dont know anyone whos actually paid for a set. Its always a hand-me-down.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandma gave me a set when I started college. PROOF: /a/WVyQl

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I've never actually seen the bowl. +1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But where did she get them? My brother inherited my grandmother's, then broke them with a BBQ gun...

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You can buy new corelle at target

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Corelle plates are very high quality and you can find them at a lot of retail stores, or their website. Great customer service, too.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want a BBQ gun...

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

...wow, I completely missed that. Well, it's been witnessed now, no time for a cover-up.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never seen these plates in mylife

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Well you have not lived. Go find your local neighborhood grandmother and ask for a plate of supper.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

The use of supper used to drive me nuts, as did the word dinner being used to describe lunch. I said nothing!

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Huh, I've never heard "dinner" used for lunch, just it and "supper" used interchangeably.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My grandma uses dinner in place for lunch and supper for dinner. Confused the fuck out of my BF when she invited him over for dinner at noon

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Northern Minnesota, we had breakfast, dinner and supper at my grandparents country place in small town, USA.
