Additional context - that cat was under care of the adult/mother and abused but Amity was nicer and took it with her.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yup shes a bwitch alright.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Amity absolutely would get Ghost one of those. With how smart Palismen are, I'm surprised they don't just have phones or something.

Why is amity a cat?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The cat is Amity's Palisman.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

She was trying to get Amity's attention, but the cat came to the window instead, so she asked the cat (who does understand language) to let her in.

my friend doesn't get it.

The lady is Amity’s mom and a horrible mother. In the show, she has Amity doing child labor for the family company and treats Amity like shit. Later in the show, Amity cuts most ties with her.

In this comic, Amity’s magical companion calls her mom a bitch and tells her to F off.

It's inspired by billispeak, a cat who was able to communicate by pushing buttons. A bit of a character. "Mad mad mad food catnip mad"

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

she (odalia) is amity's mom, she fucking sucks, the cat is amity's familiar, and thus is not fond of Odalia

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The lady is a bitch. Cat playing the sound buttons to sound like bitch. It's a little bit of a stretch, but fans of the comic will likely find it fantastic.

1 year ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Note sure how much to explain. The white cat is named Ghost and is a Palisman; like a familiar that can also become a staff/means of flight for a Witch and is preventing the woman (Odalia) from entering by using a series of buttons that are often given to animals for rudimentary communication but is using the "B" sound of best and the word "Witch" to call Odalia a bitch.

my friend literally said "bwitch" out loud several times and still managed to not get it. he had a long day at work ;) thanks!

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Your friend cannot combine B and itch to form some wild new word that might describe Odalia?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

no, my friend literally said "bwitch" out loud several times and still managed to not get it. he had a long day at work ;)

...Something tells me the friend is a Trojan Horse of some sort

bitch*

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The saddest thing is... all the suffering, loss, and destitution she reaps doesn't invoke a change in her. She's a narcissist down to her core, and no amount of comeuppance, time, or magic can change that.

Ah, I see you’ve met my mother then. Oh wait, no, you’re talking about the cartoon lady. My mistake.

I actually appreciated that about the Owl House. Too many sympathetic villains have appeared in major media recently and I appreciated that people like Odalia and Belos were unrepentant and evil/bad. The show was largely designed for a younger audience and it isn't wrong to teach them that not every person is truly good or deserves a second chance. Some are genuinely awful.

Everybody wants a Zuko, not everybody does a good enough job with the idea

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's a good way of putting it

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's something I really liked about Centaurworld, too.

The main villain's motivation is explored, and his pain acknowledged. And yet it does not grant him a magical forgiveness, because the pain and suffering he has caused to all living beings is too great to ever amend for. And in his final moments, even he accepts that.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It gave depth to the characters without taking away from the pain and loss that the Nowhere King had caused (I can't remember what he was called before he split in two)

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In fact, it's a key part of the final episode. The Collector tries to kill Belos with kindness, and learns that they'll have to do it the old fashioned way instead.

Some people just need to be curbstomped.

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

steven universe's "we just need to sing a song for hitler, and then everyone can co-exist peacefully" message was pretty meh, yeah.

1 year ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It really did annoy the ever loving crap out of me the direction steven universe went. Was loving it and then they turned Saddie and Lars into two very boring background characters. And then thar horrible ending? The gems are literally on par with a faction from 40k and it got fixed with a hug? Then future? Hated it.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Right? They could’ve done so much more with it. It was pretty clear they lost direction / ideas after a bit. A real ‘I didn’t think I’d get this far’ scenario

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I really liked Future. For most of the series I was like "I feel like being a child soldier in a magical space war would mess you up." And then the creators agreed with me.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah they could have approached that, but he fixed space genocide with a "she's gone" and everything, for the most part, went well. Hell even his friends literal death turned out fine. I am more annoyed with everything about future. Just vague gestures at all of it. Maybe it was the previous episodes that soured it.
