I live alone in a one room flat with no access to a garden. I find solace in growing plants. Here’s my collection.

Billie was my first - the one that started it all. She’s a burrito chilli plant and I got her as a two leaf sapling. When I managed to keep her alive for more than a week, I was amazed. She’s now fruiting!

This is Fernando. He’s a very hardy plant and supposedly hard to kill. So far we’re doing okay. He’s pretty shy. We haven’t bonded yet.

This is Cher; she’s a bitch. A total drama queen. Once I watered her on Saturday rather than my usual Friday and she almost died. Total Prima Donna.

Beneprick Cactuspatch is outgrowing his pot but he’s alright I guess. He’s actually super soft. He’s on my succulent windowsill. These guys are hard to kill (I hope).

Squidward looks like a carnivorous plant but he’s a succulent, and he’s a bit of a party animal. This pot is actually a pen holder I repurposed. I love it.

Keith is a quiet type. He’s apparently going to grow mini Keiths all around him like a halo. I can’t wait to see it, even if my drawing of him kinda looks like hairy balls.

Tiny Tim lives in an old bonsai pot and this picture doesn’t do justice. He is smol. But he will continue to spread as he gets older. Then I guess he’ll just be Tim.

Jolene’s beauty is beyond compare, with flaming... blob... of auburn hair, spiky skin, and a stalk of emerald green. She lives in my hand painted Dolly Parton pot. From this angle you can only see her titties.

Sister Monica Joan came home with me from Ikea of all places and was my first succulent. She’ll get bigger with age but I love her little stripes. They’re bumpy! I hope it stays this way.

Miranda Priestly got her name because of her witty personality and sharp looks. Probably my favourite succulent. (Don’t tell the others).

Babe Ruth is a monkey cup pitcher. They’re called this because monkeys drink the water which catch in the pitchers. Duh. He’s a carnivorous plant, and super temperamental. Probably going to kill this one so we’re not getting attached to each other.

Audrey II is also easy to kill but I love her a lot. She’s a Venus fly trap and anyone who gets this reference is automatically cool to me. I saw her catch a fly once. It was awesome. I was so proud.

Akiko is my newest edition. She’s a rosemary bonsai tree. I chose the name because it can mean ‘sparkle’, ‘bright’, and ‘autumn’. In spring she’s going to get little white flowers. I repotted her because I want her a little bigger. She was expensive.

These dwarf sunflower babies are two days old and my first children grown from seeds!! My plan is to keep one or two and give the others away at work. I was so bloody happy when I saw them emerge. I felt like Mother Earth herself.

I use basil a lot in my cooking so it was logical to grow some as it’s expensive. They’re so tiny and are also two days old, I just didn’t notice them until yesterday.

Well, they’re my babies. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! I hope one day to have a garden where I can let them run free, but for now they’re living by my window.

Can Fernando hear the drums ?

My wife, Akiko, is also expensive. Worth it, too. You have a cool hobby.

+1 for the plants alone. +100 for the names. Also, I approve of your Audry II! Just keep leather-wearing, motorcycle-driving dentists away.

this @OPis a maniac I tell you! OP: ' Probably going to kill this one so we’re not getting attached to each other.'

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Except admitting to probably murdering babe. Don’t kill babe! Babe eats bugs and none of your others plants do!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Babe might not be able to survive without monkeys, who knows.

I love your collection!! I live in an apartment complex now but most of my life I lived out on the country side so I started to miss the

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Floral visuals and slowly started a patio garden of my own. It has really helped me with things like stress and has given me a new hobby!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love that you've cleverly named your plants. And the fact one of the plants has my name (Jolene). Yes, yes, I've heard the song. :D

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Now you done it op. We expect monthly reports of your plants. It is law.

Yes

If tiny Tim grows a bit will he just become...Tim?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Motherfucker this is the most wholesome shit I've seen this month. If your plants ever need a babysitter I'm in.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You’re awesome . You’re plants are awesome. Also..Venus fly traps die back every 3 months and then come back! So don’t lose hope !

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That is only if they are stressed. VFT's have and need a winter dormancy but otherwise should grow continuously through the warmer months.

If you manage to get Billie to survive the winter, I would keep removing flower buds so he can focus on growing bigger instead of fruiting.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I am nervous for you. You keep introducing new plants so only a matter of time before Billie will get aphids. Fuck aphids. lol

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

With pots and containers and a window you will always have a garden.

6 years ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 0

And money. Don't forget money. Oh, and time! Time where you aren't making money so you can spend it.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well obviously, it’s the same with any endeavour.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless you have an asshole cat who eats every plant in reach. I'd love a windowsill garden :(

6 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

Even the cactus?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've not tried cacti as I'm not really fond of them. I might try one anyway to see if she learns by association to keep away from plant pots

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Worth a shot. Good luck!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My cats don't eat it they just destroy either by dropping or plucking

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I should have said she "chews" rather than eats. Either way...plants don't survive long lol!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get a few Edwardian cases for some :)

I have three phal orchids named Steve, Jo, and Tiny Tim! Steve has been alive since my junior year of high school somehow, finicky fucker.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How? I’ve managed to kill every phalaenopsis I’ve ever had.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Truth be told I have no idea. I water him with ice cubes and he really likes my kitchen window. He comes back every year with new blooms.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a nice collection op
