Heeey! It's morning time...and we're sort of busy-ish working. It seems complicated to bring the material on site, so we're transferring the concrete deadmen anchors right here, and the guy will back his truck to the site to place them.

Just like that. And now I can back to the crane truck.

Dirty Old Town
The Pogues
La Scie NL

Oh, yeah... I said yesterday that today we'd have all Led Zeppelin, all day. But...nah... we won't have that. I figured more of that fitting music for Newfoundland. I saved the Zeppelin for tomorrow instead. I got a nice selection of nine songs, one per album, including Coda.

Time to get the tank off the trailer.

One last strap to loosen.

And down in the hole she goes. That's it for me, I'm off to the boat.

End of the World
Great Big Sea
La Scie NL

Rocky Road to London
GrееnIаnd WhаIеfishеrs
Somewhere between Sheppardville and Deer Lake NL

Drunken Lazy Bastards
The Mahones
Deer Lake NL

Pasadena, Newfoundland. Weigh station was open.

I'm Shipping Up to Boston
Dropkick Murphys
Humber River Valley / Corner Brook NL

Wolves of the Sea
Alestorm
Wreckhouse NL

Whiskey in the Jar
The Dubliners
Port-aux-Basques NL

They somehow made the French translation to sound Italian.

Harbour.

Port-aux-Basques.

Trucks, waiting. There's not much traffic for tonight, so far. Looks like we'll only be a few crossing.

It's filipino dinner time!

High St.

This trusty karakoa has arrived!

Wellerman
Nathan Evans
Port-aux-Basques NL

My room for the night. I never, ever get a room with a view outisde. But then again, what's to see of the sea in the middle of the night?

Wharf.

Port side.

Starboard side.

Common area for those who didn't book a private room.

Midnight pizza. Nice. But I'll pass. It's now shower time and sleep time.

Cheers!

I stumbled upon a band on Spotify, out of St John's, Newfoundland. They're a Newfoundland-French folk band made up of a guy on guitar and a girl on the fiddle. I'll give them a spin and try to have them on the playlist when I return here.

And it should be soon enough, I got wind of up to four more tanks to haul this way before the first week of December. I just don't know if it will be four different trips, or all four at once..or whatever. But, it looks like I'll be back here at least once in the next few weeks.

Nice music. And another trip to Newfoundland in the near future. Again nice. Waiting for it. CU.

My favorite trucker at it again, im always trying to see if you got some Filo music or what the Pinoy cooking you got waiting at the bottom. Stay safe out there!

Love your banjo version of it's the end of the world! A real toe tapper and definitely great driving music. Thanks for another very interesting update and stay safe. Cheers.🍻

As a logistics manager ( you know, the bastards that annoy the hell out of people like you and make your life difficult :) ) have an upvote. Even bigger upvote for the awesome selection of songs!

Hehehehe thanks !!!

I've been to St. John. Or was it Saint Johns? The one with the high tides from the Bay of Fundy.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That would be St John, New Brunswick. This appears to be Newfoundland.

Big difference. Confusing the two is an automatic firing at Canada's major newspapers apparently.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You'll learn the difference real fast if you ever try to fly there and end up at the one you weren't intending to be at

I rarely comment, but I always enjoy a @leifericson793 post. Greetings from Norway!

Nobody’s fault but mine please.🙏🏻

There’s something about a good jig and reel with your trucking. It’s a really good fit for the speed of the footage. Loved the video game inclusion.

How much is a private room

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

That’s about £74 which isn’t too expensive really. The cabin looks clean and comfortable.

The weight station with Mario bros. WAS GREAT!

Love your post!

Nice. I particularly enjoy the clips of what it is like to take a semi on a ferry. I've been curious about that.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's nice!

Bruh. You always hauling the shitters end tanks from what I can see. Also: trailer park boys had a great rendition of that song.

I see you are into engines when you get that french into Italian Dell’Orto carbs :D

Hahaha

But my question was, do the tie all the vehicles down on the ferry? How long was the ferry crossing?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The port aux basques crossing is like 8 hours. Depending on the weather.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, you don't wanna become the El Faro.

@leifericson793’s music is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hehehe exactly!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I keep expecting to see the new truck. Not yet, apparently!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Noooo not yet!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you name your trucks?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m glad you decided to change the music. Sea shanties etc just seem to fit right in in NF. Shame it was such a short trip, but hopefully you will get to go back soon. It’s definitely on my bucket list. But if I never get there in person, I thank you for taking me with you on your journeys. I have seen so many lovely places thanks to you and enjoyed some great (and not so great 🤣) bands. Christmas is coming and I’m still waiting for your scenic calendar and cookery book! 🤗

Secret Santa needs to get him a new wallet. I watched a Rick Steves Travels in Europe episode yesterday. Ever heard of him? He’s on public television over here. The episode was in London. Smiled and thought of you. Good episode. Cheers from Portland Oregon.

I was thinking the same thing! Have you ever seen the series Grimm? Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved it and it was set in Portland Oregon! 🤗

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have seen some Grimm. Funny story, I’ve lived here now for about 10 years. My wife and I were out exploring early on and we found a few vintage stores (Portland has many). Walking in, we saw a bunch of furniture, lighting and various items we grew up with. A friendly employee came over and started chatting us up. See that light? We rented it to Grimm. That table? That too. They were so proud. Cheers.

I actually have the dvd box set of it. It certainly portrays Portland in a good way. 😁

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven’t heard of him, but I will look him up! 😊

He took a trip to Europe as a teenager and has figured out a way to go back several times a year since. He wisely turned it into a video travelog and made a decent career out of it. Kind of like following our trucker friend, it lets me see places I know I will never travel to. He’s based out of Seattle. I think you’ll enjoy his travels. Cheers.

He has written a lot of guide books too, including London!
