I guess I'm at that age where, though very impressive, I cant ignore that these are all repetitive stress injuries in the making

if you work this fast, your boss always wants to work you this fast.
And thus it creates new expectations on workers

The beauty of some of these is lost by speeding up the video.

Skilled individuals are not paid or appreciated enough. I adore you folks. Wish my skills matched

Many years ago we had a school trip to a local distillery, in the bottling plant there was a guy who just watched the full bottles pass a yellow light that would highlight any foreign objects and press a button to reject contaminated ones. It really made me study so I would never have to do a job like that.

He was probably the happiest guy there. Enjoyed his stress free job, doesn't go home to kick the dog and beat the wife

Why work like that, when you're paid by the hour?

So you can be rewarded for your hard work.
With more work.

Never let your boss see how fast you can complete a task unless you are prepared to complete that task at that speed every single time.

This. I once programmed and test run an entire new tool manufacturing process in one day, because I was inspired by omnissiah or some shit and lucked out on everything and my manager was upset the next more complicated tool took a week. My only solace is the fact they tried to reverse engineer the process I made and failed, adding like three hours into making that tool after I left.

Intriguing but disturbing to contemplate how much work in the world is repetitive and mind-numbing, as well as underpaid and in terrible conditions.

isn't that why they're developing robots to take those jobs?

Turns out underpaid humans are cheaper than robots (which still have running costs for maintenance and the like).

there's an initial cost upfront. Problem is right now, robots are only good for specialized tasks. Humans, even the most stupid of us, are somewhat adaptable, and can be 'reconfigured' from one job to the next, easier than it is for a robot.
For now.
