9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice work.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Pay your taxes!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Beautiful tiling is an art form!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But what if they buy a bigger tv??

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess I would have to tear it down and rebuild it with more room

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just thought how that'd be a win win for you. More work. More money. Seriously though, these are nice. Good on ya.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What if they want to plug something into the tv?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You but a mount that moves out

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need a shower done. come on OP lets do it. I got some 12 packs of beer and stuff

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love beer and stuff

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its on!! Let's do it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you for putting a grout joint centered on the stove, where it belongs! Incidentally, what country/state? My design/build co needs you

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you, I'm in Portland OR USA

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you message me your company contact info? I'm in Portland and need some tile work.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn dude. You've got some mad skills! All the best for your business!

9 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

Thank you

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Yeah dude I would totally subcontract you, baby

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In all seriousness. What state are you in? I work in real estate and I'm always looking for skilled people.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Portland Oregon

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why do people keep putting tvs over fireplaces? It's an awful location for your neck, unless you have a bar top in that room

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you've got a big house, with a big room, then you won't be looking up.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My family room is 20 x 16 and over a fireplace would be too high from the opposite side of the room. That's a decent sized room.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I've got one of those open floor plans. Kitchen, living room, dining room is just one giant space. So over the fireplace is no prob

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It can work that way. Like, if I had a bar in my basement I'd do over a fireplace. Or like a general mancave. Just not my regular chillspot

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have bars in my basement. But they are to keep the hookers from leaving. I'd never give them a TV to watch. But to each their own I guess.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got a question if liquid gets spilled on wood flooring is the a chance it could seep in between the boareds?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I worked tile in Portland for about a year! What's your company name?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It used to be called BSTL and I would tell people that it stood for basic stone tile and laminate but it really means balls stuck to leg

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now it's just my last name Kravets construction LLC

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awesome! I worked for Hawthorne tile for a while, well I may need a backsplash here soon and I'm in Beaverton, I may hit you up

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No GFI on a counter outlet? That's a paddlin'

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Only has to be GFCI if water is within 3 feet.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A single GFI first in the chain protects all the other outlets on the same circuit. Source: Basic electrical theory. Read a book.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I also have a boring 9-5 job, it's driving me insane. I just can't handle the stupidity in people anymore. Thinking of taking up carpentry.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beautiful work man. Where are you located? Do you do natural stone too?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Portland OR and no.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love doing tile work remember to pull straight trowel lines vinegar helps with grout hazing on a final wash down watch out for strawberries

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Strawberrys?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very ouch. Much hurt.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Theyre the fucking worst. Got them a couple times when i started tiling

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From rubbing down wet grout lines with your fingers and it rubs your fingers tips raw it eats away a spot then you have a strawberry painful

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Contour the lines if you will the sand in the grout will tear your fingers up sponges help contour some but fingers shape well

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bro, he's got this

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

He sure does

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait what's that in English lay?? Important. Bout to tile. Flick a pm if bored. Need tipsss

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Where do you live? How much do you charge? I could use some tiling :)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Portland

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Darn. Good luck!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn! I wish you were closer.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How does one quit their 9-5 job and just start their dreams?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

shialabeouftellingyoutojustdoit.gif

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I volunteered doing tile to learn the trade them saved up money and got all the tools

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Literally sacrifice 100% of your free time to do both the 9-5 and your dream job at the same time, until your dream job can sustain you

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You stop telling yourself "someday I'm going to..." and you do it.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Bing o

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good thing my dreams are to play video games

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damnit.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can't help but wonder how long it will before that tv melts off the wall from poor circulation.

9 years ago | Likes 150 Dislikes 26

how do you plug in the SEGA Mega drive without rear access!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Older plasmas and early LCD might have had issues. But really anything made in the last 10 years should be fine.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heh, remeber the old Vizio plasmas? You could damn near cook on it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We still use ours. Source of heat in the winter ????

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My concern would be wanting a TV that's literally any other size. Smaller ones might look goofy and bigger ones won't fit.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

With an extendable mount a bigger TV could just sit proud of the wall a bit. Doesn't look like the type of place that'd ever go smaller ;)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an electrical engineer who also does AV, you won't see any major problems before you replace it for an upgrade anyway.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That would be my fear. How do I find a tv with the exact same dimension?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure modern TVs don't dissipate enough to be an issue.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those bastards get suprisingly hot

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Ours is right next to the house thermostat. Screws it up hy about 8 degrees F.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That tv generates practically zero heat. I have the same tv, its pretty amazing.

.... that fireplace generates practically zero heat. I have the same fireplace, its pretty amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's okay, it's only a Samsung.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I see your point, though the ventilation I would worry about less than the fireplace directly under it.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Looks like there's two inches of space at the bottom. How much do you normally need to ventilate it properly?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Personally, I need a lot of space to vent properly.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Two inches is about all your need for any mount ( ͔° ĶœŹ– ͔°)

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You're probably right, but tiles do run cool and they may even dissipate some of the heat.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I can't help but wonder what happens when they want a bigger tv.

9 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

They buy it and put in the corner like the rest of the world. Or, they build a new fireplace like proper pc master racers should.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

or add a sound bar

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

worst case scenario they can just buy a mount that extends outward

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This guy is the thinker in the whole group of commenters.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hey, I've got an idea. Let's build our entire house around an item that we'll only want to keep for 5 years!

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Op will get paid to redo it then. That's a win.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Don't know why people put their TVs so high up. Looks ridiculously uncomfortable.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

There are mounts that pull out and down

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did it once, never again. When you realize it's more comfortable to stand and watch TV, you realize the mistake you've made.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

This concept makes me irrational. Let's get a huge 70 inch tv but we will put it above a fireplace and sit 20 feet away. It defeats the

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

the purpose of having a big TV. I sit like 6-7 feet from my 50 inch because it's more engulfing and cinematic.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

It doesn't defeat the purpose if the purpose of the big TV is to compensate for a longer distance, though. Depends on the setup of the room.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

This guy gets it

Me attempting any of this:

The stairs go to....... A WALL! YAAAAAY!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where did you get the picture? That might solve the question of where this is.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trust me im an archemetect

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The stairs are for those small windows.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, the staircase does look sturdy.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But why

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Because the stairs are awaiting installation and currently just leaning nearby? Cause no one would actually fuck this up... I hope.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Okay that makes more sense, hope it's not just leaning there though.. huge safety hazard

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Never underestimate the power of stupid and/or lazy laborers in large groups. "Meh, fuck it, this looks close enough"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WITH MIND BULLETS!... Sorry, got distracted by your username.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Better than even chance that's Russia.

9 years ago | Likes 105 Dislikes 3

I'd normally agree, but that's not a common brick or stair style, so probably not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well it isn't America. We favor straight, wide staircases that actually serve a purpose. The whole spiral thing is def European.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or Mexico...

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

Technically speaking, you could name any country on the planet and be right. If it's >50% Russia alone, Russia+other country is also >50%

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, there is a facebook group called "builders that love Escher". Most photos are from Mexico...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(mind you, its in spanish: "AlbaƱiles que adoran a Escher"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, l would bet it is USA, if not Canada.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Changed my mind, bet it's Sweden or Norway.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How does that happen??

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's shown in the process of being removed or installed

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

We'll never know for sure. A true paradox.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing removed as it looks like the doorways have been converted to windows and you can see on the brick where it used to be bolted on

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To me it looks like they added one more floor. Windows at fire escape are normal

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you enjoy spending time on your knees

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Serious question regarding the tile flooring that looks like wood planks, do you use grout in between the tiles? Great work!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's always about the money

I'm glad you shaved your balls for this tho
