Found a use for facebook likes: getting an eng masters

Mar 25, 2014 8:54 PM

I finally finished my degree and started working as an engineer but found that I was miserable

So rather than sitting around feeling sorry for myself I quit my job and moved to the other side of the world

Then to procrastinate a bit/stay in the country/sort out my life I started a masters in engineering

Day one of my course in French and I realised it wasn’t going to be easy

Seriously, if you're going to study in a foreign language make sure you have a decent level.

But I persisted spent 2 years with little sleep and a huge amount of study and thought I’d done everything to graduate

I passed all my subjects, did my internships, learned French, what more could I need?

Then I discovered that I still needed to get 5 points from actions for the school.

While I realised it’s my fault, I honestly just didn’t know about it and am blaming it on language barrier as it’s something I’d never heard of before and certainly didn't have to do for my previous university.

I can get 5 points by winning a competition, so I got a team together and entered a student competition for transport solutions.

We got selected for the second round, so getting there!

To get to the final, 5 are selected by the judges and 1 by facebook likes.

So to be guaranteed a place in the final I need to win a popularity contest. Yep, getting my masters in engineering is now partially resting on facebook likes.

Why am I telling you this?

I don’t have a huge amount of friends on facebook as I mainly use it to keep in touch with my actual friends from home so if you want to give me your vote/like that’d be amazing (our entry is Smarter Mobility, the link is http://www.studyka.com/en/juries/80/votables/2291 ). We’re being smashed by other teams already so I don’t know who else to ask.

In return, here’s a picture of my best friend and me

Well not really, but we like to pretend we’re these guys and that our friendship is just as good, we even own the hats

Any results yet?

unfortunately we can't eat likes

Cant eat money either. Gave you one anyway, cause depending on likes doesnt seem very fair to me. Seeing that you didnt have many FB buddies
