Where's the captain crunch

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was going to make a joke about North Korean breakfast but the fact it's not on the list made it for me.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Guess Canada can go fuck it's self cause it's traditional breakfast is similar to the American one

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was looking for the Norwegian one expecting it to be wrong, but that looks very normal.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Jupp! Brown cheese for the win!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

China

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 5

Too soon... Nah fuck it ????

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

How do people in Korea, Japan, and Turkey have time to wash like 37 bowls all the time??

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the same. This legit made me laugh! Thanks.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about a pint of Ben and Jerry's breakfast?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's a champion's breakfast.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gimme those Mexican breakfast tacos any day all day

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Germany & England have conquered Breakfast!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

German bread really made the breakfast amazing.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Italy is wrong. Should be a shot of espresso and a cigarette

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Ordering a cappuccino for breakfast in Italy will get you a lot of strange looks. Lol

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you don't eat a cornetto or another pastry you will starve!! I'm calling your nonna right now.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're missing the guns and the American flag for the American breakfast. It just doesn't scream freedom enough.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

If you're short on time a red white and blue sparkler will do fine

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bald Eagle too

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where's my weetbix?

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that didn't look like an average Aussie breakfast, many of us just eat cereal or maybe some scrambled eggs on toast.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

v

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

How is this not the top comment?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wheres the black pudding, mushrooms, fried bread and hash browns on that sorry looking full English?! Do I look like I'm trying to make 50

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love the Spanish breakfast. There's a particular bar in Santiago that does it superbly

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The Italian, and French are not much different...YAAAYYY MEDITERRANEAN!!!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I could kill for some churros right now… but the nearest churro store in this damn country is like 80 km away (and probably closed).

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I wonder if I can find me a bag of frozen ready-to-fry churros. I *know* they exist.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Churros are easy to make

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One advantage of the lock down is we have the time to try stuff like that!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why is there a Strawberry in the U.S.A Breakfast? Stop pretending we're healthy like that.

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Because that’s what is shown in the Hollywood movies...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks straight from Denny's menu

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s a candied strawberry, don’t worry

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm an American mom we have time for strawberry pop tarts most days. Eggs and bacon is not an everyday thing

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Neither is the fry up for the UK. it's something I'd order if I was eating in a restaurant, not cook at home.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s something taken off a breakfast menu in a restaurant. Most people I know eat yogurt, have a coffee, bowl of cereal. Not that big.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I think most of these are special occasion breakfasts. I mean look at the Turkish one, calm down Turkey, who wants to wash all those bowls?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I guess Canada is not important enough.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Yep

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Medium coffee regular and a dart.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess everyone just expected a stack of pancakes with maple syrup, that's clique enough.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"clique"?? were you perhaps groping for *cliché?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Canada?? You mean America-lite??

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

No Canada the land of “I’m sorry” and “eh”

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Canadian here - weed and black coffee for me. Eating in the morning makes me tired.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Smoked Moose meat boiled in Maple syrup is an acquired taste...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No different in principle than honeyed ham.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*broasted

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Madagascar breakfast! (Photo quality not great, there were no lights where I was eating!)

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Appreciate the banana for scale. What is it though?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rice porridge, banana bread, and mofo (fried balls of condensed milk and flour and the best part of the meal!)

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh I've had mofo and they are delicious!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whoa where did you have mofo??

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My husband's friend made them when we visited.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm missing this word in English. We have it in Norwegian, and it's grouping the "things you put on a slice of bread" things.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Toppings.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can approach it, but no actual word exist. (I'm not sure people would accept Butter, Jams, Meats and Cheeses as "Toppings".)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not as precise as pålägg in Swedish or Norwegian but it’s the best word. I had a discussion about it with my SO. 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In English, it is referring to as “sandwich toppings”.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Pålegg" in Norwegian would be something like "spread", as in "sandwich spread". But yeah, English does not have that word. 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pålegg means everything you can put on bread. Ham, cheese, jam, eggs, literally anything can be pålegg. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Cold cuts, maybe? Can include meat and cheese. Though it's more American than British.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can get close. (Butter and Jams are also "Pålegg").

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Scottish breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Nope, definitely Russian

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Man the early 70's tenement blocks in Glasgow had alot of similarities to modern slum Russia

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Username checks out.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The hate is strong with this one. Do you also partake in COVID resistance marches?

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Or are the stories from pappy’s flashbacks in nam enough to make you upset for no reason?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

What the pho?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

The most delicious soup you will ever have, doesn't matter if you choose beef or chicken, you win either way. It's so good.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Authentic Pho is Vietnam is pretty good. Super weird when you find out they put intestine in it tho depending which place you go to

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd probably at least try it with the intestines

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's actually pretty good

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Correction on the Danish breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Man, I gotta go to Denmark.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

shit son, once the borders open, we'd love to have ya.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want those gorgeous red sausages, what are they called?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Literally red sausages.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol. thank you. :)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

'Røde pølser' in Danish.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you again! I will google to see if I can get some here in the US!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just take botttled yogurt and a coffee please, i am not a morning person and i can't eat much the first 4 hours after waking.

6 years ago | Likes 240 Dislikes 4

I'm not a morning person either but in Germany, I'll eat the meats and cheeses for breakfast. So good.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I used to be the same. Now I need food with the coffee or I feel ill.

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

I was the same up until my pregnancy. Now I have to eat pretty soon after getting out of bed or I just feel gross until I do.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You've technically got a parasite stealing all your nutrients, so it makes sense.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolute same. I might be awake but my stomach definitely isn't. The thought of eating before I feel ready to makes me feel ill sometimes.

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

same, i have a sensitive stomach in the mornings

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, if it goes down too early, it comes right back up.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not even hungry until the sun is going down. Maybe I am one of the legendary monsters.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooo and bottle yogurt recommendations? Sounds delicious

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Intermittent fasting, I stop eating at 8PM and dont start eating till noon it works super well for my bod

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a lot of stomach acid in the morning and if I eat or drink right after waking up I'll feel like shit

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same thing here, can’t stand to eat first thing in the morning.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s Spain, Italy and France. Cup of coffee and a chunk of bread haha “It’s 10:30! Get to work already”

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pretty much all the beach towns in California too!! Lol

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why I fully support serving breakfast for dinner ????

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

i could make my ex's day 1000 times better by making her pancakes for dinner.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Breakfast is the superior meal at the inferior time

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was just going to say this! I told my hubby we should try and work our way through this list for dinner

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Korean, just wanted to point out we don't usually eat 비빔밥 for breakfast LOL

6 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

The American one is really only what people eat at a restaurant on a weekday morning. Most days, coffee and a bagel is more common.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's actually a bunch of screaming then squatting to smoke a cigarette.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

the joys of having tigermom and tigerdad amiright?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You get it, I got downvoted because apparently people have well adjusted families or something.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Was about to ask if Bibimbap is eaten at breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can't speak for all my roofkoreans out there, but usually we like to eat it for lunch.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're not eating it, I will. Thanks.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I was stationed there Bi-Bim-Bop was popular with the Americans. A friend's Korean wife asked why do Americans like baby-food so much?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

lmao baby food! I do enjoy it when I want a light brunch here and there but that's about it. How long were you stationed there for?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was there for a year. 1998-1999.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to be fair the full english breakfast is more often eaten for lunch and if it is for breakfast its not common

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not only that... the pic looks like dol sot bibimbop

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That looks like a flipped table. My korean is falaweless

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

haha Korean does look trippy doesn't it?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻. And i mean it in the sweetest way

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vietnamese don't have a "breakfast " dish. Everything can and usually is consumed at anytime of the day.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it was soup, rice and like 5 side dishes it would be more accurate.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

you know your stuff, sir!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They literally just saw the egg on top lol

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

ikr lol

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was looking for this comment! We just had an egg or a glass of milk while I was there.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We drink milk? Lol

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what my friend gave me when I stayed with her in Incheon

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol I'm Canadian Korean so my breakfast usually consists of coffee/tea + everything bagel from timmys

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wheres the coor's light?

6 years ago | Likes 397 Dislikes 4

I was lied to. American lagers are decent.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beer is the Canadians breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

trying to stay hydrated?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Redneck breakfast. Or maybe a Colt .45

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as a man who is currently drinking last night's beer for breakfast this is a very important question

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Water isnt really a breakfasty thing.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

If you're going to make a beerchelada a 4.2 with no flavor profile would actually be better

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Serious, what is a breakfast drink? I always have milk unless I’m hungover.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always have juice and / or hot tea

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Milk, orange juice, coffee, etc

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coffee.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Ireland, its Guinness stout with breakfast.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Used to flush the toilet because water is more valuable.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you mean wheres my beer virus

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad to see you are drinking lots of water.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not breakfast beer

6 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 2

It’s first thing in the morning, start light

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any beer is a breakfast beer if you start early enough

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beerchelada why not?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What is? Coors banquet?

6 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

AM Ale

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Coffee stout

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Irish coffee or mimosa

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly? On the very rare occasions I can drink at breakfast, I like a nice cold pear cider.

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

That sounds so very not manly

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If that was to me I'm glad cause I'm a woman ???

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brass monkey is where its at

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A breakfast beer is Guiness.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Among my friends here in QC/Canada we called a pint of stout a full meal. Works as a substitute for breakfast/lunch/dinner, however you feel

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Breakfast shots are a solid go to

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Breakfast shots are great, they get me through the day until I can get my lunch flask.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Polish one is bullshit, nobody has that for breakfast more like supper. Few open sandwiches (ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber, radish) and tea

6 years ago | Likes 105 Dislikes 1

THANK YOU. Came here to say this! My friends are blown away to hear about our sandwiches don’t have tops...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks. ?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, polish breakfast is total bullshit. Never seen that shit in my whole European life!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No fresh buns?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Breadrolls sure but they are fresh sourdough, same with bread fresh crunchy skin still warm

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most of them seem huge.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I’m polish and literally just had sausage and eggs for breakfast today haha but potato pancakes no way and idk wtf the salad is doing there

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was thinking naleśniki or kluski.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Aussie one doesn't even have vegemite!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I went to Poland once, and breakfast was toast, fruit and the most amazing cheese I've ever had. 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I asked the server what type of cheese is was and she looked at me weird and said "It's just cheese". Delicious anyway.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Polak eat a sad salad like that either, breakfast or otherwise. Sałatka or gtfo.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's mostly served in hotels, I'd say. Also, plenty Poles prefer crepes/sweet bread/cereal on a daily basis

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the same for most of them. The UK one is a weekend treat rather than a daily occurrence.

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the US one is like a Sunday morning thing. It's cereal, then maybe a Pop-Tart while crying in my car before going into the office

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I agree, these are restaurant or weekend breakfasts. Nobody plates up like this on a Tuesday.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The most important meal of the day is existential dread!

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

yea these all look like special treats, but still nice! I mean, pierogi are famous but are more common at Wigilia than an everyday food. 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd say most common everyday American breakfast is cereal or porridge pre-WW2- with plenty of regional differences as to the porridge

6 years ago | Likes 332 Dislikes 0

your breakfast was ugly, anyway

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Countries such as France are areas where French people live in this example.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can help you brötter

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't even have tube caviar

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

The different meats are hard to be sure on, but the rest seems pretty basic

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As an American, looks like... crackers, liverwurst, cucumbers, cottage cheese, boiled egg yolk, bacon, and what I can only imagine is 1/

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

2/ fermented fish. Plus the random spice mix for no reason. And a slice of ham under the liverwurst.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sadly I believe that's supposed to be scrambled eggs. Also theres some kaviar on the side of the plate. The spices I have no clue about.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lived in Vietnam and Thailand, rarely ate soup for breakfast. Sometimes noodles in Thailand, but not commonly.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kalas puffar is 90% of my households breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They should replace that picture with a picture of kalaspuffar, skogaholmslimpa med kaviar och ett glas O'boy!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was going to say that that one looks like a very sad breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it definitely needs some kalaspuffar, to say the least.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah... I think the stuff in the bowl is some sad idea of müsli

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It looks like a bowl of four random spices.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Don't know a single person who eats pickled herring for breakfast. Norway's was closer to most swedes breakfast

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Migration Agency will be around shortly then

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hope they'll ship me of to Spain, I could go for some churros!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spain is unable to take new people right now, you have the options of the Dem. Rep. of the Congo, North Korea, or rural Wales

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But.. but.. churros!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

North Korea it is. I hear they have a new leader!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vem blandar sill och keso?!? ??

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wot? I'm Danish and I can identify most of it. Herring, cottage cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs, cucumber, cold cuts, knækbrød, 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

various kinds of seeds, and dried cranberries. I'm also guessing the stuff on the edge of the plate is a smooth paté of sorts. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, I meant it more like "wtf is that in terms of breakfast", but I guess I wasn't clear enough, lol

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where the heck are the pancakes?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They eat pancakes on Thursdays. Not for breakfast tho. And with pea soup.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll help, The whitish round things with the yellowish centers are called eggs (Pron: egz).

6 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good job, you've identified the one thing NOT present on the swedish breakfast plate. :P (There ARE scrambled eggs tho.)

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Definitely not your standard Fika

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Fika is when you eat dessert with people

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fika isn’t breakfast.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's funny because fica in italian means pussy

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Doll in french is pou-pou. Do what you will with that useless knowledge.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We eat that aswell

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've no idea what it's called but that Norwegian brown goats cheese is absolutely fucking amazing. Worth the high cost and cholesterol

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

The brunost you can most commonly find in the USA is Ski Queen from Tine. http://www.tinebrunost.com/us/products#SkiQueen

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tastes more like caramel than cheese, really.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's brunost :) or geitost, or fløtemysost

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I still find the fløtemysost name the weirdest and I live here in Norway..

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I miss Julebrunost SO damned much! Can not find it in the USA. https://www.tine.no/merkevarer/tine-brunost/produkter/tine-julebrunost

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So fucking good, especially in burgers.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gjetost. Pronounced "YAY-toast" by Americans or "yed-OOST" by Scandinavians.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

We call it brunost. Meaning "brown cheese".

I love when languages are super literal in naming things. My grandma called it gjetost, and as a kid I enjoyed asking her for "yay toast."

Aw, that's lovely. We still have geitost/gjetost, it's almost the same, only a tad less sweet. And Gjetost means goat cheese :D
