I think it’s a fairly entertaining film

We can finally legally fuck it, like it fucked us.

Young Ani already has been

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i loved the prequel. even though everyone else hates it. its still far better than disneys bullshit they call starwars

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I remember walking out of the theater thinking i just got dupped into watching a disney flick.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Don't worry, at least The Phantom Menace wasn't as gut-wrenching to see watching someone drink titty milk from a fucking elephant thing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Oh wait...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It did have Jar Jar stepping on poo and smelling farts, and screaming. A whole lot of Jar Jar screaming...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nostalgia goggles are strong with the SW fanbase. 4 more Disney Star Wars movies and they'll claim the prequels are a masterpiece.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some already do...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The existence of prequel memes in itself makes the movie important.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The memes outshine the movies by far.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's treason then.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Still better than the last jedi

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think the prequels were terrible films, but they were certainly not Star Wars films, and that's why it's target audience hated them.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Actually, the target audience loved them. But the target audience was not star wars fans.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'll never understand why their format has replies before the original comment...

8 years ago | Likes 190 Dislikes 2

That's only because it's a retweet, if you look on the original comment, you see can see the actual comments in a normal comment section.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's annoying to read, but I suppose it's meant to show an intro, like "I agree" or "here are stats showing xyz" etc

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

cause that wasn't a reply, it was a quote with a comment, different features

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Post to the left is relevant.

You gotta be browsing user sub, newest first, like all the cool kids.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not for long

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Still infinitely better than attack of the clones...

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Phantom Menace at least looks fun in a marketable sense. AOTC just puts me to sleep...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or The Force Awakens. Yeah I went there!!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Neither is great but Phantom Menace has some redeeming features (namely Darth Maul and that epic duel). AotC was really just boring.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The whole romance with anakin and padme is excrutiating. The end is pretty cool though

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or the last jedi

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're all better than the last Jedi

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

What? I really liked The Last Jedi.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I used to be able to enjoy movies with bad plots but I seem to be unable to turn off my brain and just be entertained nowadays.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Hating Phantom Menace is like hating on Nickelback. You do it now because it's the cool thing to do, but you sure loved it when it came out.

8 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 28

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

Not really true for me. Couldn't stand them then, was happy the universe caught up with me. Phantom menace was flawed on first watch too.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Nope hated it. Hated the kid, hated Jar Jar. For the record I've always hated Nickleback's music too for the terrible fucking lyrics.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

I feel bad for Jake Lloyd given how it turned out for him, but he really was terrible. Couldn't act for toffee.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was 19 when it was released. It was a bit weird and didn't really fit the setting of the originals. Too much shiny shit and politics.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Also, the fighting style changed too much, too many flips and lightsaber play, and the kid destroying the battle station took the cake.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still like "Leader of Men"...good song.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

About tripping on mushrooms.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, we all knew it was gay.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Speak for yourself, man.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

It came out when I was seven. It was too boring.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nope. It was utterly mediocre.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didnt.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To date, it’s the only film I’ve fallen asleep in the theater of. Still the most enjoyable experience where I’ve watched it, though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved parts of it when it came out. The parts that didn't involve Jar Jar or Baby Anakin. My overall impression was "what the FUCK George"

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They weren’t hating when Darth Maul was fucking everyone up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was 13 and knew or sucked ass.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

which one?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. I was 12 and could tell it was a badly made film. Only saving grace was the action. (Kind of like The Last Jedi!)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. Star Wars fans over 20 or so didn't. Kids did.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I watched it as a kid and hated it, Jar Jar Binks wasn't funny and every conversation was boring. I remember assuming only adults liked it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think some/most 'kids' liked the bang bang and the pod racing and the neat aliens and all that nonsense. Now they enjoy it cause nostalgia

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone hates on Phantom Menace but it's one of the only two movies in existence where Liam Neeson is acknowledged as a Jedi.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was also better than most of the shit he's brought out in the last 10 years. Makes me sad that a talented actor isn't using his talent.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was weird when I saw it. I was impressed with the CGI but the movie never felt right. The Plinkett reviews helped me sort that out

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

I saw it when I was 8, so it was aimed at me. And... I liked it. There was spaceships and lightsabers and tax laws and politics... Well. /1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was spaceships and lightsabers. Pretty cool! Oh and there was demon with lightstaff! That was awesome! 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. He put into words what I only could "feel." I didn't like it but i couldn't articulate why until i saw the Plinkett review.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Back when we were foolish and young. We know better and its ok to change opinions.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 13

Is that from a nickelback song?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It wasn't the best but I enjoyed The Phantom Menace

8 years ago | Likes 190 Dislikes 20

As someone who rewatched it yesterday, god it's just the worst thing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has this neat little sense of adventure to it that I don't think any of the other Star Wars movies have.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

There's usually nothing wrong with enjoying something that's considered bad by others. Guilty pleasures are fun.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Love it for two reasons: 1. I was a kid when it came out. Nice memories. 2. Played the game first, which immersed me deeply in the setting.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

First time I did a midnight showing, and first time I saw a Star Wars film in theaters. Not the best movie, but still special in a way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember liking it when it came out, but I was 16 and didn't have a great grounding for what a good and bad movie were.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still a better movie than Attack of the Clones outside of the stadium battle.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The final light sabre duel is one of my favorite star wars scenes.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Especially that part where they just swing their swords around without trying to hit each other, that was the best part

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Wasn't that part 3?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh right, i remember asimilar scene on part 1. Oh well all the same

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Exactly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rhat and the pod race.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you compare the prequels to the original trilogy they were utter garbage, but most things are. On their own they weren't bad really.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

You say that, but Episode 2 still exists...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

As does 3... Unpopular opinion I know, but I think Episode 3 dropped the ball as hard as 2.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I enjoy parts of it, but on the whole it was forgettable. I could never forget Darth Maul, though. Gone too soon.

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 3

Maul is still in clone wars and rebels animated series. He didn't die.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

yeh that shit was retarded though, he should have stayed dead.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Boy do I have news for you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know what happens, don't be that guy.
