Nala ventures in to the outside a lot. Luckily our neighbourhood is nice, so it's not a problem, but I was surprised when she had this on her collar.

I thought it was really nice that our neighbours were concerned for her! Address blocked out for privacy reasons.

And here's the little culprit! :3 I'll be sure to send another note back!

Do we have the same cat? My kitten looks exactly like this

So is this the next evolution of the courier pigeon?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

@OP So i've also got a cat named Nala, and she's the same color configuration. Nice name choice!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why send a note? Just take a cake, a bottle of wine, the cat and visit them!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Seconded!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How about getting your cat an ID tag? Name and just a phone number (if you move a lot, like me). That would at least answer those questions

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And they could text you

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She looks like my cat that passed away last year. You better cherish that beautiful girl!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sorry for your loss, your kitty was beautiful. v

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your cat looks like my Rory! I showed my wife and she thought it was ours!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You need to get a contact collar man.

Your cat is a whore just saying.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I expected this

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

LOL forever!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of people don't like cats crapping in their flower beds, having kittens, etc on their property. If you care, keep them inside.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Don't understand "outdoor" cats. They're domesticated animals, why let them roam wild?

Because they are an invasive species, manmade and native to nowhere.

I want to find a friendly way to prevent his cat from doing this, as I do not see myself doing this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wish people would keep their cats indoors. It greatly increases their lifespan and keeps them protected from outside sources.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

My cats 15 years old and is an indoor outdoor cat

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember seeing this before, years ago. This is either a repost and not your cat, or this is how your cat kills all of its owners.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I mean it IS my cat so I don't know what you're on.. Here she is again: , and /a/BYe2L

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Definitely plotting your demise.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My neighbor's cat looks just like her. Kept having litter after litter and her young followed suite... (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I finally had to buy a cat trap and catch 15 cats. Got the mom, got her spayed and returned her to the neighbor. The rest went to a shelter.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good for you! I hope the neighbor was thankful.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was a fact I read once that there are more people who think they are cat owners in America than actual cats.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

how is that possible?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two different cat owners, one cat. Neither cat owner realises that the other owner exists.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How are you even supposed to check every single cat in that kind of a country?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just heard it once, I have no source or data.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have one of these. After about 6 mos of feeding and naming, we realized she probly belongs across the street.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

We had a cat who would stop coming home often, we learned that neighbors were feeding her. When the neighbors moved our cat disappeared too.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even better, we once had a black cat that notoriously always wanted out them back in. After about a year we noticed it must be 2 cats

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

my cat's always want to go out and come back in... in they are very much individual cats.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well we figured it was just normal cat behaviour, but we have no idea how long they were just swapping places lol.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because 1 day they were both inside and my brothers like "uh there's a clone".

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Your cat is my cat's twin.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea ...great...but loose cats kill birds, can get hit by cars and can catch diseases from strays!

I agree. We have always let our cats out and they always come home.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

...but you ignored everything else in his comment. haha.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The outdoor/indoor thing isn't about cars. Rural outdoor cats are actually worse. My neighbor sends her 3 cats into the national park.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pets know that they are well cared for and well-fed, but cats can't suppress the kill instinct. So they kill for play, repeatedly.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck.. People who let their cats out know all this already, they just don't give a shit

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

Exactly, some are the old "if I don't see it I don't care." Of course there's exceptions like the other imgurian below.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait until you get one that pees on your stuff if left inside. Yes, he is fixed and the vet says nothing is wrong with him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

As a responsible owner, you arrange them activities and clean their toilet daily, right. Right?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This cat has been provided multiple clean litter boxes all over the house and still pees on stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool. What about the activities part? Would you let any other pet wonder around without supervision just cos it pees inside?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Activities? Its a cat! It eats, it sleeps, has toys, and gets petted and cuddles. If its legal and it won't get into trouble, yes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that the shadow of your cat giving a thumbs up in pic 2?

9 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

I came here to thumbs up that thumbs up.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought the same thing

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

on the one hand, that's super cute. On the other hand, I feel like cats should stay the fuck indoors. So I'm a bit torn on this post.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 11

Depends on the cat. Depends on the situation. Some cats refuse to stay indoors. Some cats are too stupid to go outdoors.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

No. It only depends on how lazy the owner is.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

I live next to a train station and busy intersection. My kitty is an indoors kitty.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For me it depends on the area you live in. Where I currently live my cats do not bother the wildlife and nothing threatens my cats. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2/2 but under most circumstances (roads , people, issues with other wildlife or even other cats) I would keep them inside.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(our previous cats were adopted barn cats that were not well socialized, our current cats are socialized but stay on our property).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aka be a responsible owner and put a contact collar on her

Not big on reading the rest of the post, are ya?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

>So I found a loop of paper attached to my cat's collar this morning..

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

my kitty escapes her collar every. damn. time. just sayin'.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

OK, but this is about a cat that appears to have a collar that does not come off every. damn. time. your cat's collar does is irrelevant.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We have a harness on Toki and he stays in it just fine. Maybe try that.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the cat I grew up with would always ditch his collar. But not his flea collar, for some reason.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a cat like that. I starting making cheap collars out of 1.5" sewing binding and a tiny rubber band. Then write info on it w/ a pen

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some cats are really bad with collars though

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Our cats don't like collar but don't get as annoyed with harness. They're indoor cats though,so usually prolonged stay in harness is max 5 ..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

days. I guess it's because our harnesses are less tight around the neck than collar would be. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cat is already wearing a collar

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are cats that have trouble getting collars off their necks?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, there are some that can find them very uncomfortable. Our cat has a skin problem that means he cant wear one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My comment was meant to imply that cats remove their collars with no difficulty.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, i was trying to point out that my original comment was relevant to the cats discomfort, not its escapability.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well this one doesn't seem to be.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or just don't own a cat.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 14

A responsible owner would not let the cat outside.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

What the fuck?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

That's right. Nothing better than having your cat's brain squished on the road, amirite? Or causing a traffic accident. Happens a LOT.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Or eating someone's rat poison. Or being mauled by a dog. Or ruining someone else's lawn and the local wildlife. Etc.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

You can be a responsive owner without contact info on a collar. It's called a microchip

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

My friends almost adopted a stray cat who moved into their house. They took her to get chipped and found out her owner had moved away 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

from town and her ex-boyfriend had stolen her cat right before and she thought he killed her. She drove seven hours to get her back. 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Collars are important, but microchips are gonna reunite you in extreme cases. They're inexpensive and vital. Always chip your pets! 3/3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I forgot to add she'd thought the cat was dead for over a year and had lost all hope. Just imagine the joy of that call. 4/4

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Which involves a visit to a vet or shelter to read, and you hope the owner has kept it updated between moves. Easier to read a tag.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Your cat has a collar but no tag?

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

No need for one. The town I live in is a retirement capital, and it's REALLY quiet and friendly. For the past 10 years she's been fine

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 15

yea but what if it gets hit by a car or something? might as well have a tag on it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Tag or not, if she's been hit by a car she's been hit by a car. She's been microchipped so they'll know we own her at the vet.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

yea but the reason people keep saying "put a tag" is that... it's very cheap and very easy. If that wasn't the case I'd understand your 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

point. I'd put one on my cats regardless of where I live... 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But what's the point of the collar, if not to carry a tag. Just put a tag on her.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

A pocket protector PROTECTOR!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To show that she's owned and not a stray?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"I carry a wallet but I don't put money or ID in it. It just sits in my pocket"

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

You need to at least have the rabies tag on there if the cat is roaming free. It's about keeping the cat from getting euthanized if found.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I see you are in the UK... Do they have rabies tags there?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think so, no. She's been vaccinated if that helps..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My friends cats aren't even outdoor cats, but they still have collars incase they get out of the house.

9 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 3

What range is set before it shocks the shit of em?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My cat hates his collar, but I had the vet microchip him when I got him neutered

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have 2. One managed to cut open a screen and get out. Never been more freaked out because both are inside-only cats.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have six cats, all indoor-only. They are microchipped, have collars with contact info, and an additional tag: "If I am out, I am lost!"

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yup. My cat is an indoor cat but the shelter said he's an 'escape artist'; he's had an id tag/collar since the day we brought him home.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have a 3 month old kitten that will be indoor but I have a collar and tag on her for this exact reason.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have bought my cat five collars but it takes her about 10 minutes outside to get it off and hide it. I haven't found one of them yet...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The cat had a collar on lol, that's how the note got there. What the collar is missing apparently, is a tag

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the cat needs an ID tag and the rabies tag. The lack of the rabies tag puts its life in serious risk if found and not identifiable.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in the UK. Rabies tags aren't a thing here. She's chipped anyways.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

your cat, like all cats, is a slut. a manipulative slut... send back a twenty

9 years ago | Likes 410 Dislikes 12

I always was proud to say that our cat never goes anywhere from our yard, now that sucker vanishes most of the day :/ He loves the neighbours

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hold on. What part of town is that cat from?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm convinced my male cat gets fed by half the neighbourhood with the way his belly sags down to his feet.

9 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

Thats actually normal though. Cats that have been.. fixed.. almost always get a saggy belly.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Some of us guys who have been fixed too. :( Though there may not be a legit medical reason for that though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where are my testicles, summer? (Wonder why this isn't a thing for dogs.)

Just because you can't have kids doesn't mean you can't enjoy the pleasure of a barbed penis every now and then.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Because you take away a significant hormone factory and that has physiological consequences like easyer weight gain

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lower testosterone, probably.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same reason I got fat after I got married. ^_^

I think your cat is trying to steal my forklift... v

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The pattern around its eyes look pretty similar.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

nope, def two different cats

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a different cat. The specks around the left eye are different.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fucking torties haha! So damn friendly.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Everyone I meet says they're cruel as shit (youngest sister has an asshole one, as well). Good job finding the nice one of the batch, lol.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Apparently you never met my mom's tortie. She despises everything/everyone. She's purrfectly healthy before conclusions are jumped too.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Same, mine hated everyone except me and I think she only tolerate me as she tried to kill me by sleeping in my face every night.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's far worse ways to go.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One for my "homie." https://imgur.com/kOUlF

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, ohh, you should meet mine. I love her, but she can be such bitch. Sometimes. Most of the time.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My moms tortie only loves my mother and myself. Hates everyone else, though was all over my fiance when she met him. It was so damn weird.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My tortie is super friendly too. ^_^ It seems to be an all or nothing thing with them.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lol for real, mine is instantly best friends with anyone she meets.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My tortie made 2 dogs (a german shepherd and a shiba) her little bitch ...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Read this in British accent for some reason.

I am definitely a human. *pet pet*

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If you are a human then why am I hearing beeping sounds? :O

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't it be easier to give your cat her own cellphone?

9 years ago | Likes 4236 Dislikes 5

Or just don't let the damn thing roam the neighbourhood...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

No! Of course not, it'll rack up a large bill

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Real outside-the-box thinking. The reason I come to imgur.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, it can use a pay phone just like the other cats her age!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I then thought- But what if someone stole it? It would have to be someone the cat wouldn't run away from...oh but what if they use nets? :(

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know right? Some people just don't see the obvious.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Isn't there a government program for free phones?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You used to call me on my cell phone.....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or ya know, animal tags with their name, owners contact info and rabies tag.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I've never had a cat tolerate collars, when we tried collars we found them dangling by tree branches, scared they would hang themselves :/

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We got our cat a breakaway collar. If that should happen, it'll snap and release.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, a breakaway collar is an absolute MUST if your cat is allowed outside.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...and microchips are a really good idea, if they're available.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's hit or miss with cats but OP said: "So I found a loop of paper attached to my cat's collar this morning." So collar tags are an option.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

an iPhone 5S should be enough. doesn't have to be the 6

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's funnier the more you say it out loud. I'm going to answer my phone this way from now on

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i do already if its any of the three friends of mine who have cats in their family. I also substitute "now" for "meow". They enjoy it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All right meow, don't get carried away.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

why don't u put a name / address tag and probably a license on its collar instead of a note!

9 years ago | Likes 1401 Dislikes 10

Too much work

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

My cat's are indoor cats and they still have collars with their name, my name, and phone number!!!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

agreed. Mine's an "indoor only" cat who likes to try to escape. Been wearing a name/phone number tag for near a decade.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This. If you don't want to put your own name/address on, use the number and address of your vet.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Mine are microchiped, a tag would be bad in my area since it makes them easier to be stolen..

I've bought my cat 3 collars in a couple months. At some point you just give up.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We've tried to put collars on our cats. They've always come off after a couple of days. And where do you need a licence for a cat?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

do both. Do the note first to say that tag will be done. Seems more personal to me

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you buy it a license it'll only go asking for a car

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A license to kill you say?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's probably what these people were hinting at. It's pretty irresponsible to allow an animal outside without a tag.

9 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 8

It's irresponsible to have the cat outdoors freely. The harm wildlife and get attacked by wildlife. Like dogs, they don't belong unattended.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

I see the "cats should be free" folks are out down voting.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Tags can be lost, microchipping is the ideal.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

1/2 I got a phone call a few weeks ago from a neighbor, "Hey, so, Sir Newton just walked into my house and now we're watching Netflix....

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 Can I give him a treat?" It was great. :)

Thank you. So many people overreacting to the concept of a cat going outside without a collar. My cats are nomads, and break collars.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 28

In my city you can't even have the cat outdoors because they'll round them up and take them to kitty impound which costs $100 to get it out.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

In some cities, they literally round up any cats they find and euthanize them as the shelters are full. I wouldn't risk it.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Being euthanized at a shelter is the LESS bad think it can happen to a pet. Here every couple days we have a dead cat on the streets (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

killed by cars/motorcycles. Many don't die right after being hit. And a bunch of others get poisoned by bird owners. Also a slow death.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Having a pet and let it roaming free is a straight up lazy/bastard move. Don't have pets.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 6

You sound completely delusional. I hope you don't have any cats.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Most domestic cats have a chip under the fur. Vets can scan it. Collars can get the cat stuck.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have two outdoor cats and they constantly lose their collars, but still worth the money to keep them updated with important information!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where I live there's no need to put your address on a collar. It's just not that culture. It's a really quiet cozy town where I live.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 8

Pretty common where I'm from too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

eh? it's common sense and good pet owning practice, not a matter of social norms

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

As someone who seems to find a lost animal every week at least have a phone number it makes things so much easier.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would put a name and phone number for emergency reasons. Since you got the note, not everyone knows who she belongs to.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

If there's truly an emergency, she's chipped. She goes through collars like mad anyways.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Actually, both my cats have collars with tags on them that have their names and "I've been chipped!"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As a rule, you shouldn't put your pets names on their collar. It gives strangers, whom might have bad intentions, a way to gain their trust.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 19

Luckily my dog hates strangers.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have used names on dog collars to keep animals calm and stationary while waiting for owners to arrige

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My cat will do as he pleases regardless of if you know his name or not.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why the down votes? This is absolutely true. Put your surname on the tags with 2 or 3 phone numbers. They don't need to know the pets name.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Do animals not have to be microchipped in us? Has owners details on the chip, only costs like 10 quid

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. In most areas I don't think they even have to have ID on them, just a leash. In rural areas they don't even do that. It sucks. :/ 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My cat is an indoor cat but he walks on a leash like a dog. Sadly, can't go beyond the yard because of people's loose fucking animals.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not mandatory in most jurisdictions (some require it for breeding animals, etc...), costs $10-75 depending on vet and chip brand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it's not required to chip an animal in the US... but a lot of vets will do it, not sure the cost.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It isn't required, but it should be. Here in California, San Diego area, it was $40. There's more than one company; I wish they'd...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...at least use the same chip. Vets and animal shelters have to have more than one type of reader.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think the cat is old enough to drive

9 years ago | Likes 126 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

It's 'Murica. He meant a gun licence.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Cats don't need licenses. However, an ID tag with contact information would be a good idea.

9 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 3

My cats are all indoor and they have their name and my cell number on tags on their collars. Just in case ????

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Depends on where you live. Some places require licenses for all pets. My county in MD requires them for cats and dogs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My cat is strictly indoors and still needs a license here in Nj. v_v

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Louisville cats need licenses. I mean, mine don't, because I'm lazy, but they do have all their vaccs and I keep them inside anyways

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We need to get an ID tag for our cats. One of them accidentally had her ear snipped, which is an indicator the cat is stray and good where

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he/she was found. I'm so worried she'll get out one day and no one will have her scanned for a chip.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ear snip means she's a fixed stray... she was captured and they went to fix her and found she already was (or they fixed her if she wasn't)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what it means. But when I picked out my kitty, she wasn't snipped. The next day she went for her spay and the same clinic who did it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The use that here to indicate that it is a spayed/neutered stray.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, here it's to let you know that it's a stray who has been neutered and not to move or bring to a shelter unless it's injured.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mobile clinic who spays/ neuters the strays here is the same one who does spay/neuters for the shelters when a cat is adopted. My kitty

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our cats need licenses....we're in NC and it depends on the county.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I'm in NC, have 2 dogs, and neither have a license. The vet and shelter never mentioned it, either.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sorry. I read "country" not "county." Maybe ours doesn't require them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's ok. :) I'm in Forsyth and it's $5 a year per animal if they're altered.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's because NC taxes everything but taint sweat

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

In my city they do. All pets do

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"This is a dog license with the word Dog crossed out and Cat written in in crayon." -MP

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The fact that cats don't need licenses but dogs do is bull shit

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

In our town both need licenses, even if the cat is indoor only like ours is. Seems fair to me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cats can do some damage but large enough dogs can easily kill people. If your dog gets loose and hurts someone they need to know the owner.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Also nobody expects cats to be well behaved.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

In France if your dog is hit or killed by a car you have to pay the damages (unless the hitting is proved intentionnal) but not if it's a 1.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Be sure to use a break away collar, so your cat doesn't get stuck outside

9 years ago | Likes 324 Dislikes 9

Careful though, that breakaway collar nearly caused my first cat to hang herself on my blinds, lucky my aunt found her in time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The idea behind a breakaway collar is that it prevents that from happening by breaking under stress...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that should be the cause, but it somehow wedge itself in a way where it couldn't break.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So... having a regular collar would be better in that scenario?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Microchipping is ideal in addition to tags!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

YES.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

agree. dont use anything BUT a break away. my little boy cat LOVES climbing trees. havi g a break away gives me a little piece of mind

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Peace*

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Piece could be right. Maybe it's a cranium tree?

9 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 1

Or hang itself

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

When I was about 10 my cat hung itself with it's collar, it's not joke.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although my asshole cats learnt how to remove their break away collars

9 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 0

Harness. Use a Harness, it's safe and very hard to escape from.

9 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 1

Mine removes her collar, then uses it as a toy and walks around with it in her mouth.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think we are on our 9th collar on this 14 month old kitten hahah

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My cat lost his break away collar and I found it hanging on a tool hook! I could practically pick him up by it too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine takes hers off and it takes me months to find it. I put a non break away on her and she just ripped it up trying to take it off.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine too and a regular collar almost killed her. So ee had her chipped. But some people will keep cats instead of checking for a chip.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, it's not up to me whether my cat wears his collar. but he's an indoor cat because of nearby roads.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here. I gave up after 4 collars and ID tags ($70 total). He's chipped at least.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Same with one of our cats. The whole street knows him as the sweetest cat but he only comes home to us for food and that's it. Asshole

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Be sure the collar is grown with all organic fibers

9 years ago | Likes 155 Dislikes 14

Breakaway collar saved my cat 2 times, I swear to god she kept trying to hang herself with it ;-; that or figured out she could break it off

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

udick

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kisses!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, you jest but cats have accidentally hung themselves jumping from trees and the like and having the collar snagged.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 4

Do I look like I'm jesting

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 4

Lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Be sure the collars organic fibers are from outskirts of Bangladeshi forests.

9 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 2

Be sure Bangladeshi forests are paid fair wages

9 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 2

Be sure that the hours are reasonable too.

9 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 2

Be sure that the fibers are sustainably sourced
