I've kinda had this happen to me recently, at least the part about hobbies. Maybe I just need something new? Any hobby ideas you could comment would be coolio.

FP EDIT: Holy cow, never thought this would get so much attention. Thank you for all the support and advice. Think I'll try sewing, bettering my handwriting, and consulting my close friends about it more.
Good luck, have fun, aloha!

That sounds a lot less like fine and a lot more like depression to me

I've started dabbling in chain mail. Not too expensive if you make your own rings, but you'll get tired of the hand cramps eventually.

Sports? Golf? Disc golf? Weight lifting? Art? Music? Poetry? Witchcraft? Wizardry? Search for the holy Grail? Sex? Spanish Inquisition?

Screw hobbies—do something that will help someone else, in a way that you get to see the person you helped. i.e. volunteer at a shelter.

Tried Larping? Make friends, beat people up, wear cool shit and camping. Plus looks good on resumes and you'll have no money for drugs!

Build something that always seems to help me a bit some time back breaking work that requires a lot of concentration helps

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Classic depression. A friend told me...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Find someone worse off than you and do something for them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I started to change the furniture's place in my apartment and one thing after the other i just subscribe to a website to talk to new people

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Which had not happened since 2010. So that's nice. You can beat your sad ideas step by step.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Video games. It helps me to escape. Might not be healthiest, but its the only thing that I'm still interested in without immense effort.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not it's not, yes they do, drink more water, try breathing exercises, drink more water, and try some new things.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

well, that's basically depression. now that you know that, you can try and do something about it :)

10 years?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seriously...when do you finally say 'what's the point?'

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crossfit, do miniatures interest you at all? Maybe board games? Find a hobby store near you. They can be some of the best people.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All of these can be sign of a starting depressive episode. Have an eye on it, and if your condition worsens start looking for a therapist.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yep.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Volunteering is excellent! Meeting people is so much easier when you're working with them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you like being outdoors, have ~$30-45 to spend, and have access to a course to play on...I recently got big into disc golf. It's a blast.

So do lots of things. It's still important to differentiate because often one is cause and the other an effect.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Life is pointless", "nothing matters" and "none of my old hobbies interest me" suggest depression, but it could be both

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

but i dont feel sad. just...bored.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find helping others feels rewarding, especially when one has lost interest in oneself. Gives you a sense of accomplishment.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's actually a sure sign of it. First you feel bored then the crippling sense of helplessness sets in.

start knitting

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've honestly thought about this, I've heard it passes time like crazy! I need to get into my 'crazy knitting grandma' phase anyway

if you ever decide to start, check out this https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/wiki/gettingstarted

As someone who was there and bounced back and am really probably happier than before - only with that attitude.

Sometimes a bit of structure and planning can help. Plan tomorrow this evening. Have a couple of small goals to achieve. Plan a treat (1)

8 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 4

Seconded!Setting out 2 achieve something & actually completing it helps! E.g. Do U have any small thing broken that U said U would fix? (1)

"Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving"

Planning things makes me more anxious

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Think simply. The plan can be to wake up early to make a healthy breakfast, nice cup of tea or go for a walk before the day gets going.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(1) Planning to wake up early is the exact thing that makes me anxious. I have a hard time falling asleep most nights. "Think simply" is

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) Easier said than done. Just being devil's advocate here but overcoming depression is more about living with it as a part of life.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make it small but something you feel is beneficial to your growth & happiness. Forgive ur shortcomings, just keep going in that direction

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok, problem, acheivement and succes mean nothing to me. I cannot enjoy anything. What then? Not being problematic, I need an answer.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nurture your spiritual side; nature, meditation, 'let go the ego', finding peace in calm & quiet, it's ok to be still in both body & mind.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Volunteer. Animal shelters, homeless support, and hospice care are all good options.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

like going to see a film. Book something you can look forward to in a week or two. Look into doing some regular exercise and mindfulness (2)

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 4

If everything is hard work OP, maybe have a chat with your doctor. Maybe you are a bit depressed. There doesn't have to be a reason. (3)

blood tests are ok, then depression is a possibility. Have a talk with your doctor. Best wishes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't depression a reason?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My meaning was that a person can be depressed without any obvious reason (eg loss of some sort)

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Hope you are ok and work it out. (4)

Dude, I'm saving this. Felt like I haven't done anything for awhile.

I joined Toastmasters, a good group of people, local clubs everywhere. Great to meet people and practice speaking.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Real question - Do women attend those things? I'm a great conversationalist who's terrified of rejection, but can't find where to meet 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/ women in a more casual environment. I can't do the pickup line thing, and I'd like to actually meet someone rather than just see them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am a woman. I am in my early 20's and there was another recent member who is y age as well, and new to the area. Also try Meetup.com

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's probably better in cities, but there are meetups for all kinds of hobbies, If there's a girl there you already have common interests

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, thanks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What kind of hobbies are/ were you into?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't have a car right now, so mostly just video games, writing, etc. Stand alone stuffs

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I love a good hike, the outdoors and natural sun fix it for me. With a little money, a mountain bike is great, like hiking but fast!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have some money around drone racing is a wonderful time and a great way to get out and meet people as well - very popular among

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gamers and a hell of a lot of fun, but there is a cost barrier of $300-$400 to build your first drone unfortunately.

Play overwatch

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I've actually over-watched myself lately. Maybe when the new hero comes in?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have been told to play it but haven't looked at it until now and it's blowing my mind. Too bad I'm too broke to get a new console and that
