I know it's missing the bass but this is a fucking epic album that shreds from start to finish and it includes Dyers Eve!
Favorite Track: Frayed Ends of Sanity
Some call it a masterpiece and they are not wrong. Two words...Cliff Burton.
Favorite track: Disposable Heroes
This is the album that introduced me to the bay area thrashers! I was in 7th grade and got a blank tape from a buddy who told me to listen the fuck out of this shit. Blown Away!
Favorite Track: Whiplash
Yessssss! I rode my bike to the record store that weekend and bought this tape right away! Where I live on Long Island we have a dope record store, Looney Tunes, and up until the early 2000s it was still a legit, old school record store. It suffered a massive fire but was rebuilt. Now its more modern but still in business in 2018.
Favorite Track: Trapped Under Ice
The Day That Never Comes debuted on radio and I was instantly intrigued by what this album has in store for us. An epic return to form and damn near perfect. A little over produced but an amazing record.
Favorite Track: All Nightmare Long
The Black Album. Enter fucking Sandman. Heavy, fast, sharp, and focused. Not a thrash album at fucking all but a legendary album that will NEVER go away!
Favorite Track: My Friend of Misery
This is a fun fucking album right here man! Halo on Fire, Now That We're Dead, Spit Out The Bone all make this one helluva good jamfest while doing whatevers!
Favorite Track: Atlas, Rise!
Oh no! They cut the hair!! Now what!? For those who remember it was a big fucking deal when Metallica did that. So much that Mike Inez wrote on his bass during Alice In Chains Unplugged "Friends dont let friends get haircuts"
But regardless Load was and is a totally different Metallica album. If it was recorded by any other band I think everyone would love it.
Favorite Track: Bleeding Me
Another album that was rushed and over produced. A lot of filler crap that even Het admitted not really being into. Although he was drinking very heavily during these times. Still there remains a few gems on here. The Memory Remains is awesome and much heavier live!
Favorite Track: Fixxer
Then of course there is Saint Anger. Completely fucking different. A mess. Raw. Bitter. Slopped together and no fucking solos. Some Kind of Monster? Yes. Thats exactly right.
Favorite Track: The Unnamed Feeling.
Favorite Metallica Show? Orion 2012. Me and my four best friends in Atlantic City for one of the best weekends ever! Seeing Metallica at Yankee Stadium was cool, Dallas was pretty good but NOTHING like these two shows right here!

I saw them in Atlantic City too!

I first saw Metallica in ‘86 and Cliff played his bass solo. It was one hell of a show. Saw them in ‘88 snd in ‘89. Awesome band.

I have St. Anger on cd. Found it laying in the street.
DelightfulBrute
Brutal.
StreaksOnTheChinaNeverMatteredBefore
Been a life long Metallica fan and saw at the Meadowlands. They are the ultimate showmen and I feel like they have more albums in the tank.
wabbalubbadubdubs
I mostly agree except for death magnetic. I'd put it second to last. I just couldn't get into it. St anger was a piece of crap.
PantlessThunderGoose42
Loved every album up to & incl. the Black album. After that, meh. Maybe I grew up, Maybe they sold out- Lars is a vocal twat, regardless.
CatPresident
Master of Puppets is the greatest album ever recorded by anyone.
MechanixisbetterthanFourHorsemen
Three words: Reign in Blood.
Thisguyneedsataco
It's not even the greatest album recorded by Metsllica...
hurtmesomemore
I remember my friends teaching their 7 yo little sister the entire lyrics to Master of Puppets, we were probably 15. Yes, I'm old...
MarcusNalgene
I had the privilege of seeing them live at MSG with the San Francisco symphony orchestra. What an amazing show.

I was gonna say, "where's S&M?" Garage Inc. Was pretty good too.
