My best friend did the same thing. Speaking as one who proposed. We are thankful to friends like you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're such a good friend.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right on buddy! I miss you!

OP sneaking into position

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it just me, or does that building look like a giant pissed off robot's head?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's the legislature building in Alberta

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I will refrain from anti marriage comments. Congrats to the couple. Enjoy the ride.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait this is edmonton!!!! The legislature!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Baby mama finally gets ring

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Calgary but still close. Congrats!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha I was at that proposal just outside the picture. My family congratulated them right after.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm down voting this because my relationship is ending..

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But still happy for them!!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg I was proposed to on the other side of the building on the stairs!! Congrats you bertans

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope your buddy bought you a beer or 100 after this favor...Cheers!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trust me, even if she saw you, she wouldn't have said anything. Females know what's up.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whaddup 780!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's where rocky ran up the steps. Well done.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just a little more north and a bit west.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jk

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Judging by the comments not many here are from north. Hehe. -20 celsius right tho?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Uh,from Rochester N.Y. Try that cold with 30 mile per hour wind. And pitch black clouds. At noon.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd like to see weather report with -20°C and 30mph wind. That's pretty rare though? Unlike -20°C with normal wind or -2°C with 30 mph wind.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

C or F? Either way, not super comfortable temp lol

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Canada so -20C or -4F. Cold but not insane

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

-20C is nothing. Today it was -41C with the wind chill.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Yea, -20 in Fahrenheit is really fucking cold. There is confusion here.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That building doesn't look very pleased about the whole thing.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is awesome....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So they had a fucking bastard, huh?..

9 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 21

No just a regular bastard.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Such an awesome picture. How high was your ISO set at?

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Thank you! I believe it was in the 1600-2500 range I don't remember. I'll have to check my exif when Im home!

At least 4/20. Eh? Guys?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 9

No.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I giggled.. +1 even though ISO 420 would've been a little more acceptable.

Hard to say but it looks around 4800-6400 ISO (could be higher but it depends on the camera, some have better/less noise than others)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just wondering considering there's a lot of noise in the picture. @op did a good job compensating ISO for fast shutter speed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was actually snowing pretty good when I took this, may not be as much noise as you think!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I fucking know you!

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Haha what!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

JESSICA?! IT'S BEEN AGES

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

How have you been?! I thought you were still living out in BC?!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope I moved back here a few years ago!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We doing that thing when ppl reunite over Imgur?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm glad my father, and his small team of co-workers could setup this environment of lights for your proposal. I'll tell him/show him [1/2]

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Rad! Mucho gracias!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this image to make his day, he prints and puts stuff like this on his work office fridge. [2/2]

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tell him thanks, the leg is always a nice place to go in the winter :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They had a kid out in -20 degree weather?

9 years ago | Likes 568 Dislikes 29

We dress for it. If you stay inside just coz it's a little chilly, you won't leave your house for 6 months. The kid was prob the toastiest

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kids play outside at -30 and come home sweaty lol :v

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We do the same thing in Denmark. Also unattended in a stroller outside a restaurant. Just make sure baby has a blanket on. Vikings you know.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

There's a thing called clothes, you know. Try it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Do you even winter, bro?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have +15 frost resistance.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This was my thought exactly, but then I thought maybe it's cause I'm from the south. Hmmm kudos on the great pic.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

badass

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how we grow Canadians up here

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Swaddle the little fucker in lots of warm things and get them some fresh air

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Converter says that's -4. That's still really cold; I wouldn't take my baby out in that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Schools don't shut down here in snow storms or anything. It has to be at least -40 for there to be a snow day, at least from what I remember

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guess it depends on where you live.as others stated it's that cold for ~6 months, guess you wouldn't keep your baby inside that long either

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

-20 Celsius. That's Canada not US. -20 Fahrenheit is a VERY different thing.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I wouldn't call that huge difference. After all, it just 8 C difference. (or I missed something)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No it's a huge difference. 0C is 32F. If you use C then -20F = -28C would be a clearer example. C intervals are larger than F.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

-20C is -4F

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

-20F is -28C.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Celsius my man, but even still, as someone from Upper Michigan currently living in Duluth MN, kids are fine in -20F when properly clothed.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Hey! I'm from Marquette living in Minneapolis!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess Minnesota is a good fit for yoopers haha, keep on keepin' on!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats still good weather to put a baby to sleep outside. Just warm clothing and good cover and they have damn good nap time.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

It's so calming.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's -4F so not quite as awful as you might be imagining.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when you say-4 do you mean negative four degrees (36 degrees below freezing)? or 4 degrees below freezing (28 degrees)? -4 is pretty cold

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean -4 degrees Farenheit. I'm in Minnesota so if we didn't go out at -4F we'd never go outside in winter. :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ottawa? Victoria?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nah, it's chilly in Vic but we'd die at -20C. https://imgur.com/BSLpJGF (IG @dystrukshun)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Edmonton. They are parliament buildings if that's what your guessing at.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They look really similar. I'm three hours south so just guessed....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We scandinavians call this "slightly chilly". Canadians too, I'd imagine.

9 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

I'm from Alaska, but I live in the lower half. I think -20C/-4F is too cold for me, but -17/0F through -6/20F is my comfort zone

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a Norwegian I feel the same. Though anything between -5°C and 15°C is nice as well

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thinking they are from the US and that it's Fahrenheit.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

No Canada can get to -40c or f regularly

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In Germany babies are put outside in their prams or bassinets for naps. In Russia and Finland people will sauna and then run out into the /1

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

subzero temps and either go into the water or dump water on themselves. Don't know if I could ever do it but they are people who do and /2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it's normal for them.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a Finn, I can confirm this. Our babies slept outside in their prams when it was -25C, no probs. You just have to check they breath...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which is easy as the breath steams like a fucking volcano during that kind of weather

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you gonna keep a kid indoors for 3 - 6 months? -20C isn't that bad

9 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 1

Exactly, and the snow quality is better when it's colder, both for riding on the snow and building things out of it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think they believe it's -20F. That's waaaaay colder.

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 2

Right? Although... if the wind picks up and the air is kinda damp, so you have ice crystals slamming you in the face... no fun.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

very true. proper attire helps, as does moving to vancouver island

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If we all moved there would be nobody to grow crops or produce natural gas.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and it would be quite cramped

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We're from Canada, guess we're bred different here.

9 years ago | Likes 583 Dislikes 7

And edmonton is known for being a pinch nipply

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's that +50 racial bonus. Damn Canadians.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

We have a +20 racial bonus on ride checks involving moose as well

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can confirm, hunting racial for sure. Regina/Saskatoon Elk hunting rocked.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Finland we too put babies outside for nappies. Even when cold weather. It provides fresh air, sun (vitamin D) and quality sleep.

9 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 0

just toss em right in the snow, eh?

9 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

Wrap them up well in the skins of their enemies or just winter clothing. Then put them into baby carriage.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congrats! And yeah -20 is meh. On the prairies?

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

-20 is still shorts weather.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Also patio weather.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Found that guy! Hahahaha

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There is always one. ALWAYS.
