Had to see the view that inspired us to travel to Switzerland!

Tram from Lauterbrunnen to Murren

Beautiful views at our paragliding takeoff spot

Airtime Paragliding- very cool way to see incredible views

Airtime Paragliding

Lauterbrunnen Valley, near Trummelbach Falls

Amazing views on a hike from Murren to Lauterbrunnen

Trummelbach Falls

View from our balcony at Hotel Silberhorn in Lauterbrunnen

Bern

Bern Clock Tower

Bern Bear Park

View of Bern from the Bear Park

Thun- we loved this town. Very relaxing and pretty as a postcard.

Lake Thun

Lucerne- Chapel Bridge

The weather was beautiful, so we rented a boat on Lake Lucerne.

Lucerne- Lion Monument

Ahh, Switzerland... I've never been there, a real shame to be honest. Especially because it is right next to my home country.

I stayed in the building thats in the picture from your hotel! At least i think, it was owned by the same person that owned the pub in town!

So that's why I want to live there. huh...

Next time you travel Switzerland visit Appenzell in the east of the country. It's also great for hiking. Can tell because i live there ;)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You come to my city and dont say hello? That's a tad rude....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made a pact with my boyfriend that once I quit my job we'd live there for a year. I fell in love with the country years ago!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bern is my hometown. If you come again we'll have a beer ;)

I was in Interlaken a couple months ago. Definitely the most expensive place I've ever visited, but too beautiful to not visit at least once

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Going there in a week :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have a great time! It's truly incredible.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which part? I went to Montreaux and visited places like the Maison-Cailler chocolate factory and Castle Gruyères. Beautiful place.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We'll be staying in Interlaken for a week and want to visit Bern, Luzern and Jungfraujoch. A chocolate factory is a great idea too!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah if you like chocolate and cheese, you are going to the right country for sure. Have a great time!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a swiss, you've made some great choices!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's freedom. Beer, ashtray, a big ass dessert and no condescending looks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I loved Switzerland. We went up My Pilatus and stayed overnight up there. Experienced my first ever snow fall up there. Amazeballs.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Just come to America, lots'a snow here

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I assume you mean Mt. Pilatus. Or perhaps you really did mean "My Pilatus" and you're a PC-12 owner, which would be awesome. ;)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damnyouautocorrect!! Mt Pilatus indeed. ????????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's all great and stuff, but the tell us more about that strudel.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

you get used to it and dont appreciate it like you should

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Same with where I live. Humans are funny aren't they?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I assure you, the cows up there fucking love it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do haha

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm sure living in the mountains would be nice, but here(near zurich) it's pretty uninteresting

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Meaning not more interesting than any other place, it is nice to live here though, having a good economy and all.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It kind of is yes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is! I life in Zürich near the lake and i fall in love everyday (with the view)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah Thun! My favorite! My family is from there. They have a crazy festival where a dressed up man hits children with blown up pigs stomachs

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's called fulehung thun. Scary as hell

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It always makes me feel proud to see Pictures of Switzerland on here :D but as a "inneschwiizer" i have to correct you, its the 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Vierwaldstätter lake not the lake lucern !^^ 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oops! Thanks, good to know!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's terribly pretty, but you can keep it. Snow/cold isn't my thing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I were to move there, I'd like the area around Lake Geneva. Similar climate to Portland, OR, but without the smelly protesters all over.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Missed opportunity to show Richard Hammond in hospital.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He crashed 20 minutes from where I live, but I guess I'm not allowed to visit him

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My country ???????? you should come down south! The French speaking part is just as beautiful

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Next time I'm there can I stay with you?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As long as you're not an axe murderer, why the hell not!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have never murdered an axe. I broke a shovel once. Totally not burying any one though.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm across the "rösti-graben" from you. Where in romandie are you from? I live in aargau

8 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

Lauterbrunnen was the inspiration for Rivendell, so that's probably more accurate.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I live in Switzerland ;)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Me too :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Can you translate arm & leg into freedom $?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let's say with a wage below 4'000$, you are considered low income. At 3'500$, you reach the minimum wage for a full-time job

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The lion monument is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

It is so huge in person. Very beautiful and very moving to see

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Someone famous said it was the saddest piece of stone. Really true.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Samuel Clemens

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, that's not it. I think it was Mark Twain.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's Aslan!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would love to live in Switzerland

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

yeah democracy and healthcare are some nice plus like our flag

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I had to pick one country to live in, I'd pick Switzerland. Unrelated, was surprised to learn Switzerland is somewhat more conservative!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

not every part. zurich, geneva, basel as example are very liberal.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That makes good sense, I hope to visit someday soon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is, politics are very federalistic and slow here, but it has the benefit that no minister wants to push huge projects just for his image

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is good and bad, I suppose. Broad sweeping change can be great and all... but just as often it can ruin lives.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are those like... Grizzlies??? They don't appear to be caged...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Close. They're European brown bears, very close relatives of North American brown bears (grizzlies & kodiaks). They used to live all over...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Europe, but are long extinct in large parts of Western Europe. In Switzerland, the only wild bears are tourists from Italy :) One made it...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to Bavaria a few years ago and was promptly shot by gun-crazed German hillbillies. As for the photo, I think it's a large zoo enclosure.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh. It's not that large after all from another perspective:

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow! You answered my question in fascinating detail plus a pic. Fucking Bravo, kiwicupcake! These types of responses are one in a million!!
