Don't get it stolen.

The toaster peaked with the sunbeam T-35.

Toast is awesome. I actually have a plan for world-domination based on toast.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is a toaster from 1948 that perfectly toasts bread by checking how toasted it is. https://youtu.be/1OfxlSG6q5Y

These aren't eggs, so they couldn't have been taken into custardy...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Still has nothing on the egg cooking toaster ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, TOAST!!

We've got one that toasts with a ceramic bar above and below on both sides so you can look at it without having wires in the way.

Are... are you asking me a question? Because I don't know the answer.

"They've been taken into custody"... and now they're getting grilled.

who else said "crustody" out loud?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm still waiting for a toaster with a bell so that if I get distracted, I don't come back to cold toast.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are absolute shit. I had one and returned it. The top of the bread burns and the bottom stays completely uncooked.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I had the same problem, and I think it also started out smelling a bit like burning plastic for a while.

I HAVE A TOASTER WITH A WINDOW! It’s shite. And you have to hold the thing down for ages before it sticks. I hate it. Stupid toaster.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anything you toast can & will be eaten against you

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a similar toaster (1 long wide slot) & I love it! My chrome double-slot, & toaster oven both work but my window toaster is hot & COOL

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use a toaster oven anytime I toast anything ever. Turns out so much better.

4 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 3

Anything you'd put in a toaster, you can put in a toaster oven. But not the other way around! Sightly larger, way more useful.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I just got a toaster oven/air fryer combo. Life changing

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same, I got the breville. It costs more than my conventional oven hahaha

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a different toaster with a window. It's hard to tell when it's done even with the window to the red glow.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have that toaster. It's cool, but it toasts pretty unevenly.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Not really all that perfect, is it?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Thought toasters were supposed to be hot? Maybe that's your problem, you need to turn up the browning dial.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep! I got one too, a few years ago, and I gave it away. It was really uneven on bagels. Might work for someone else using it differently.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are a couple of windowed toasters, and they all seem that way, unfortunately.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aww, that sucks. Mine goes from staying raw to burning the shit out of it no matter what setting I put lol

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a toaster oven like that. It’s brilliant at pizza or fish sticks, chick nuggs or whatever. 2 pieces of bread catch fire and smoke.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe bread has no moist

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is a toaster I've had for almost 20 years but it's been doing that since they day I got it lol

Can they be modified to work in europe?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In other words, does anyone know whether the heating elements are in series or parallel?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How it's wired shouldn't matter. What does matter is the voltage and if it is AC or DC

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it does matter how it's wired. This toaster is made for the US. If the elements are in parallel, you can put them in series for europe

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But if they are already in series, you can't do that. Also AC vs DC doesn't matter for a resistive heater.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was made in the UK, besides an internal fuse, nothing needs to be modified

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's made for the US market. Using it in europe would destroy the heating elements because we use double voltage.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bread jail. You don’t put toast in a toaster.

4 years ago | Likes 226 Dislikes 3

But if it becomes toast then it’s some kinda fucked up extermination camp for bread

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When they've spent long enough on the inside, they become hardened

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Toasting jail

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

You might not..

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, if you leave it in after the heat cycle it could still be toast jail…

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well arguably croutons are toasted toast

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sometimes you gotta take that twice cooked bread and go just one more time!

4 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

We’ve done that though: Croutons

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I thought that was still twice cooked but with fried in fat instead of dry toasting

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would argue that bread turns into toast (albeit lightly so) the moment you turn (push down) the toaster on. So toast jail is correct.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Schrodinger's Toast.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I say it isn’t toast until the toaster pops it out.

I have a relevant story! I (in the U.S.) made a friend in Finland last year through social media, and we were talking about her grocery 1/?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

shopping list, and she mentioned that she was buying "bread and toast"; I was confused why she would separate the two, and she explained 2/?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that "bread" is bread that hasn't been pre-sliced, like if you got a loaf of un-sliced rye or focaccia or something, and "toast" is 3/?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

bread that is pre-sliced for toasting. I have no way to verify if this is true, but I can't think of a reason why someone on the 4/?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

internet would lie, so it must be so! 5/5
