If you flip the SWITCH it will stop charging the mac book.... im sorry

For some reason I thought the screen on the Switch was... thicker? Taller? Probably weird angles in promo pics.

Did the same with an iPhone5 and a bunch of Android phones, using some usb adaptors. Same result, iPhone always sucking the Android's power.

It's USB-C, which means you can charge either device from each other.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Well I mean, the Switch has to be useful for something, even if it's just charging your other devices.

Nice

Telling the truth about the switch is bold these days.

Phones with USB C ports ask you if you want to charge the laptop or the phone

9 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 1

Yup so my phone can charge the MacBook if I want to. Quite handy sometimes

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You'd get what 10 mins, not even that of charge?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well if i'm working on something and the laptop will die in 30s, 10 min is more than enough

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

True that my friend

Don't you just use a normal car usb charger, and put a USB A-C cable in it like a normal person?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

USB A-C cables are not to the standard bodies' specifications. They can grenade your devices.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

My Sony Xperia phone came with a USB A to C cable to charge it with.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's only if they're not manufactured correctly. One of the designers of USB C has released a list of approved A-C cables.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and that is the reason I just went ahead and spent the $40 for a car charger for my moto z

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm confused. What does this mean? Lol

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Guy plugs in device that is generally seen as something that should charge FROM a laptop, but is actually charging the LAPTOP instead. yw

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

People usually plug devices into computers to charge the device, this is making fun of the computer

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Oops, I guess I understand that much. I guess I'm confused why. Does this mean the switch has a bigger/better battery?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, it just means that either apple or Nintendo fucked up their code

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

USB c does a handshake to start. Basically the two agree on what's happening, who's sending what data/power and how

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But these two don't handshake right, so for whatever reason the power direction is kinda random

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are you telling me that the potential difference is lower in the MacBook than in the switch?

9 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 20

Maybe, but I'd say it's probably the handshake not being proper. Somebody else mentioned restarting fixes it.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

USB-C doesn't work with potential difference, there is a data-handshake which establishes voltages, max draw, and direction.

9 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

You can say voltage y'know

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 3

fuck you i paid 50k for this engineering degree.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ill refer to current in units of m&m's if i damn well please.

High potential, low potential, transistors, multiplexers, flux capacitors, I also know these words
