I like that they represented the the different size speculum.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh god, I hate those things. Especially the metal ones.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks, I hate it

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Full body shiver when i saw this, BUT funny. Take my upvote and say away from my hootenanny.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

@bowmore this picture hurts

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’m not a woman but as a guy, if that has to go down/back there, the googly eyes make it better. Don’t ask me why, they just do.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nooooo!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

**shudder**

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ha!!

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Uhg fuck these things... My lady parts are cringing in pain just looking at them

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I literally shivered. I hate those things

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

as a rn I appreciate that the different sizes are included.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Those things fucking hurt man

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

@Taaltrek letting me down not posting this kinda content!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’ll see what I can do :)

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can feel this picture..and It doesn't feel good

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

"Won't you guide my spec' tonight?"; "Sure!"

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I seem to be the only woman who doesn't hate these

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, while they're not exactly pleasant...I don't get the whole "I shivered at these, I hate these"

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The gentle hand to the knee and "relax your knees" is the part I hate

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For those too young to remember, these used to be made of metal. And always lower than room temperature, even fresh out of the autoclave

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Kept on dry ice, if I remember.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Used to be? Every gyno I’ve had uses metal.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

...metal ones are still in use

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yep, my doc still uses metal.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you're ever worried about these (first time or not sexually active) they make small ones...unfortunately they're called "pediatric size"

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

As if there's no medical reason to use them on children? Also, most pediatricians see patients up to 18yo.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

It's the fact that there's very much medical reasons to have to use them that can take the mind to sad places

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Was originally going to try to make a "fun fact" joke but I didn't want it to get too dark...

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

HA, i used to make these exact ones for Welsh Allyn. I still have a bunch somewhere. We made them into ducks with eye stickers.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This pleases me greatly.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We also took a bunch of imperfect ones home for my friend's Halloween costume once. He was Dr. Seymore Bush, Gynacologist.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're using it wrong.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ducks with what I hope are googly eye stickers is my preferred use, more pleasing than standard use.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a woman, I hate this every time I see it. +1

Yes! I clenched in fear

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me too.. Just saw some of these up for purchase on a sex toy website. I was not aware it could also be a fetish.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Rule 34.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can already hear the clicking

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know what, I was ok until I read this. Why do you hate me so much

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We have a common enemy

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know. At least they’re not cold metal?

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I was just thinking the same exact thing!!! Those metal ones are awful!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife says "these are infinitely better than the metal version!"

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

As a woman...what are those?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Speculums are used in pap smears and other cervical exams...they go up the vagina and kind of spreada it so the dr can access the cervix

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a man, I believe these are speculums, used to hold open the vagina during pelvic exams. These ones are reindeer flavored, it seems.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I don't ever want to consider the flavor of a speculum ever again

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But now you have and there's no going back. What has been imagined cannot be unimagined.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you’re an adult female of or older than 21yo, you should go to your doctor and arrange a visit involving one of those for a Pap smear.

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Yes

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I can’t begin to speculate what these are....

5 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 2

Lovely pun!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Speculums. Used by ob/gyn to keep the vagina open enough so they can do a pap smear.

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 12

...that's the joke.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The plural is achtually Speculeese

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Speculots?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Speculi?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You clearly missed the pun

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

LoL. Me...

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

*LaL. Me

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ever had a speculum shoved up your hoo-ha? NOT a merry Christmas. Not at all.

5 years ago | Likes 497 Dislikes 1

I have. I like it. But I'm into that kinda shit...?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

saw someone developing a more comfortable version of this. Course it won’t get funded cause docs don’t give a shit about women’s comfort.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I've never had it be uncomfortable, but they're always cold. Sometimes I swear they've shoved ice into my lady cave.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's always cold, my insides do not enjoy cold metal inside me.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't get the hate.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you're experiencing shoving...maybe find a different gyno...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, but I've done the shoving. And Im not even a gynecologist. She didn't complain. Might have been the ball gag though....

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My gynecologist always says “this will be uncomfortable” about the speculum and Pap smear. It is not just uncomfortable.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

They're not wrong though.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's just speculation.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They are so long

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Up on the rooftop click click CLICK

5 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 1

Oh fuck off with thaaaaaaaat.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This made me clinch. Ugh

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Down through the baby hole with old st. Mean cold duck lips.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ugh, I heard those clicks in my head and it made me do an involuntary kegel.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I shuddered

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This made me cackle like a witch.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You win the internet today.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I've always wanted to win the internet!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Is it uncomfortable because it's rigid?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't find it uncomfortable.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Also because its spreading you open with its rigidness. Imagine a small hard turd going up your bum and expanding to 3x its orig size.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yessssssss oh wait...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There were torture instruments based on the same principal.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dont they warm it up for you at least

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Not always. Metal ones are the worst

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. And the ones you see here are actually WAY too big for me even though they're the standard size. Causes RIPPING cramps when my Gyno 1

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

inserts it and so she always has to go a size down. Also, she uses good old fashioned metal instead of plastic.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mine doesn’t bother going a size down so it fucking hurts. And then is all “this shouldn’t hurt.”

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YIKES. I don't care for that AT ALL. There are smaller speculums since, for various reasons, (some benign, some horrifying) even small girls

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm kinda surprised. My ex had a gynecologist, and she used to warm it up under warm water for her.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have to admit, I go to a gyno who cares for the lower income bracket and women who pay in cash if they don't have insurance. I'm thinking

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I get to have a colposcopy (where they take a good look at your cervix due to sus lookin spots on it) on the 23rd. Merry xmas to me. ?

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I had this done in November, it's basically a pap...luckily didn't have to have a biopsy though, that's a different level of pain I've heard

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive had one before, a few years ago, along with a biopsy. Biopsy was comparable to having an IUD placed. Kind of a sharp discomfort.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I asked if I could look at the monitor! Who knew a cervix is a cute pink donut ? she said look away for the biopsy, super magnified snip heh

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ooooo Sweet! Ive had one, and a biopsy before, but there was no monitor that time! Maybe this time! Im into that kinda stuff lol

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know right, super interesting! I'm not gonna turn down the chance to see my insides heh

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh no fun! I had one about 5 years ago. Put some sort of vinegar burning crap on my cervix then took some tissue. Then some black crap 1/

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Came out later which really was a big blood clot from spotting. Not pleasant. 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ah so you had a biopsy too. Bleh. Ive gone through both. The black clot can be disturbing for sure if no one tells you to expect it!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope they did most definitely NOT tell me it would happen. It was slightly horrifying.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just had one, they also did a biopsy. Colposcopy was uncomfortable, long freaking speculum. Biopsy hurt but bearable.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Had an ex who needed one of those. I do not envy the experience.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah Ive had both before. Not terrible, not great. Meh.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I wouldn’t say meh. I found it painful, was a bit shaky after and felt cringy.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oof. Im sorry. ?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had this done before. Not gonna lie, it's not pleasant, but it hurt less than I thought it would if it's any consolation.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately I’ve had one before, and a biopsy. Sorry you’ve had to go through it!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry you're having to go through it again!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me too. Such is life I guess!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't have a hoo-ha, but I heard it's pretty unpleasant. The thing being shoved up there, not just having a hoo-ha. Oh now I've done it.

5 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Can be used int he other hole also. If you are into this kind of thing. (¬‿¬)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hear there's plenty of things that make simply having one pretty unpleasant

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

It can pinch. I don't think I need to say any more.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Never felt bad for me

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't always have to hurt. Maybe it's a Canadian thing, doctors here are gentler I guess, I've never even felt uncomfortable from one.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Didn't hurt, or even uncomfortable. Just strange thing there

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Canadian, same. It's not an enjoyable event, but it's fine. Doesn't hurt.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

American living in Canada. Beg to differ

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Did we just discover something about Canadian women?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s not pain per se, it’s like a pressure, a very uncomfortable pressure

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't even feel that. I mean I can feel its presence, but it's no different to me than a tampon or menstrual cup. Maybe I'm just weird.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe you just have more “space”? I don’t know, I hate it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
