Sucrose was also a really good way for F2P (and still is) to be able to keep playing and easily fighting at max world level. Almost any elemental combo with EM buffed Sucrose for Swirl will do almost as much damage as Venti, and I even ran to demonstrate an all 4* team on the final abyss floor, with my main group lead by Sucrose to actually prove how easy it is with subpar artifacts and not-maxed constellations or weapons (no legendary weapons or artifacts) to be a powerhouse.

I don't know much about all that as it has been years, but yeah she seemed really strong. The Crowd Control in general was amazing for combos grouping enemies up. I did play a lot but didn't beat all content back then. There IS a lot. Soon after I did some of those Abyss trials, I was grinding a bit daily for a couple weeks and then stopped.

Swirl is incredibly string for a budget option on anyone. Run two pyro and a hydro or a cryo, and then just annihilate anything with Swirl.

I’ve played too much on this game (no touch grass levels of too much). I’ve got every character till kinich (have to start being selective due to hard times $$). love throwing together teams.
A favorite of mine is candace, shinobu, kirara, fischl. I play them quick swappy. You get hyperblooms off kukis stacked EM. And if she has hydro imbue from candace she also procs her own EC. Also aggravate/spread. Since all three of those have the ability proc simultaneously. Oz becomes a gatling gun.

My shinobu is nuts though. She’s got nilous sword. 40.5k hp, 800+ EM, and the best part is, she’s using an electro goblet and crit crown. So aggravate/spread does a crap ton. Still heals 4k too.
