Bremen, Germany

It's positively strange to see your hometown on Imgur, it's a really nice picture though!

Need to make a decision and want to ask your opinion. Whoops, can't.

Where's the musicians?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My first thought was "who's putting Thomas Kinkaid paintings on imgur?"

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been there! I've had a beer in that place. I love it when stuff like this pops up on here. ?

Suddenly, Stadtmusikanten.

My hometown!!!

I love this city!

I think this picture looks like crap. Too much post processing.

People think the organic development of medieval towns is random, but each alley, side street, etc. was a micro-ecosystem.

“Random” meaning “meaningless.” The Roman grid system lacked the intimacy of life built around community living.

Looks like something out of a Kincade painting.

It's funny to see something like this on imgur, when you live there ^^

I just read about Bremen today, so weird to see it only an hr later. In Astoria, OR & a sign talked about tug/pilot boats being made there.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that the set of the good place?

7 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

My first thought too. Needs more frozen yoghurt.

Clam chowder fountain?

@longbow192 How close are you to this lil village?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh. It's a pretty big city actually, and it's on the other side of the country from me.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hard not to picture a Sherman tank rolling down the street

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gorgeous...I can’t imagine

My husband and I just moved to Germany. Almost every village looks like this. It's hard for me to believe it's all real and not replicated.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well it's rather partially real. Since the bombing in WW2 most of the cities were more or less burned to the ground, but we rebuilt.

You don't need to, there's a picture

Bremen is, hands down, my favorite place in all of Europe

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

10/10 would ride my bike on those cobbles...phnar phnar

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like a counter strike map.

Loved Germany, Bremen was beautiful, don't recognize the spot but great photo!

die Schnoor

This is the kind of thing I remember from Germany as a kid. It's hard to explain to people the difference in America without photos

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Poor folks, no Golden Arches.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That looks like a great place to chill

7 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Except when you actually visit it and find out real life doesn’t have filters applied

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Also surrounded by ugly modern buildings and traffic?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but it’s still a pretty neat country to visit

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Also real life has other people in it.

The amazing thing about Germany is there is a scene like this in almost every town

7 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Can confirm at least for southern Germany!

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Born in Landshut, grew up in Cologne, living in Trier right now. Can confirm.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's COD scene

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Except Mannheim. Or Berlin. Or Duisburg. Or Essen. Or Dortmund. Or...

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Mannheim here, can confirm - got bombed down like few in Germany - still there's the Oststadt with a few oldish looks ... and the castle

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yeah, the ruhrarea, surrounded by most beautiful nature, is a shithole architecturally due to ugly buildings built in 50s and 60s

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Basically everywhere were the Brits and 'mericans found it suitable to obliterate town/city centres for political/moral reasons

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In most places the postwar rebuilding made an even bigger mess than the bombs ever could.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sucksen (aka Saxony aka Sachsen) still deserves its ass beaten.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This style can be found in all these places. Bayern is the best imo.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Gave you an upvote, because you shared a harmless opinion. You shouldn't be downvoted for that.

As a Westerner in Bavaria. Bavaria would be beautiful, without the Bavarians, or the shallow tourists, or humans.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or Dresden.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have obviously never been to Dresden.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We don't go to Sucksen, tis is Dunkeldeutschland.

They haven't been named Most Beautiful Theme Park every year since 1990 for nothing...

Duff Gardens is even better...

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is great not only for the rides, but for the atmosphere and all the sections. I miss it so much :(

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I feel really blessed having lived very near both Busch Gardens parks at different points in my life. Both parks cool as hell

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I grew up going and thinking it looked so fake and then i actually went to Munich and realized they nailed it.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I live 30 minutes away from the park, yet i never been to it

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

The monthly payment option is really nice. The wife and I only went a couple times, but it was worth it. Especially for the food & wine fest

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should rectify that
