VIVA LA PLUTO, FUCK YOU!

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Reading that hurt my brain

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

People need to shut up about Pluto being a planet.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She’s so pretty! Look at those colors! She must have an ocean but it must be pretty damn cold! Maybe ice.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

She will always be a planet to me. I refuse to change that in my head after all these decades.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude this happened in June, I know acceptance is hard but it’s back

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

she? Pluto is named after amale god, so that dude screwed up a lot.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Amazing what a difference 14 years makes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait. Shit. FUCK! 24. God I feel old.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can thank Brian May of the rock band Queen for the crystal-clear picture on the right.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pluto is technically named after a male god, so why would Pluto be a she?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

did you know that pluto has 3 moons discovered, and the 3rd. one was named hydra officaly

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Scientific definitions progress and change but people just can't fucking adapt. It's sad.

pluto isn't a female either,...so...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's some serious flash if it was able to illuminate an entire planet (yes, I said it)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pluto doesn't have to be a planet to be beautiful and fascinating

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its very hard for me to accept that pluto isnt a navy blue, thats how I remember it from all the kids books growing up

7 years ago | Likes 132 Dislikes 2

Everyone knows it's stony gray.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

For me it was always a deep purple and blue. #NotMyPluto

Top comment for a reason!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

- Saturn, probably

7 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Dang, beat me to it

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Uranus is funnier, but not sure everyone knows it has rings.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that real or false colour? It look awesome!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's likely false color or some variation. Those colors might exist but be extremely muted to the naked eye.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, still don't care and the doofus that discovered it is from my town's "rival" town 13 miles down the road. All I care about is Uranus

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't know Pluto stared in a japanese porn in 1994. That one kinky planetoid.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That's why they want to remove Pluto's status as a planet. Can't be having none of that in classrooms.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But Sasha made it to classrooms after her career.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pluto's "career" was supposedly 1994. So, same thing.

If Pluto was still a planet, we'd have to introduce several other new "planets" to the solar system. It's much simpler to reclassify it.

Like OPs mom

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

That's fine

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pluto has allways been my favourite "planet" - still is. But I can understand why they brought in a new class of planetoids.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I for one welcome these 'new' planets.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Ohana means family

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Hundreds if not thousands.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

maybe even dozens...dozens!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you say "more planets" like it's a bad thing...? bring em on, I want more planets!!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get out of here with your "facts" and so called "science based evidence" nerd! This generation only has to feel to know what's true.

7 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 6

Older generations have more emotional attachment to the idea of Pluto being a planet than newer ones do.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

err 28 im emotionally attached to pluto

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As have already been said, older generations have more emotional attachment to the idea of Pluto being a planet than newer ones do.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How did they get such a well lit picture of it ?

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That is my exact thought. I’m betting they photoshopped

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

They just gave the original picture to CSI and they enhanced it.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is actually from a reflection off of a screw on a car's license plate.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not a 'satellite', but yes, the system described is called LORRI and is aboard the New Horizons spacecraft. More Kuiper Belt pics in 2019

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never dismissed Pluto as a planet. Not that it matters if we play along with it being sentient, as it's a harsh mistress with a cold heart.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why not? is the moon a planet? because pluto is smaller than the moon...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The rules determining what a 'planet' is are based on so many factors that it becomes pointless. It's like:where does the Solar system end?>

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With the current definition of a planet, Earth would cease to be a planet if two other Earths were in the same orbit, instead of all>

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

three being proclaimed planets. I.e: I don’t subscribe to that way of defining the difference between a planet and a minor planet.>

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a sphere that wanders/orbits the sun: planet. Pluto even rotates around its own axis. If we started defining planets prefixes>

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why is pluto so cold when the sun is so hot?

7 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

Solar panels are stealing all the heat of course

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cause she's bad bitch who don't need no sun

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sun far, yo

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because pluto only see the sun at nightt

My duuuuuude/chick! Your the first to comment about my name. I love you.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks? I’ve read those books so often it’s really difficult to not comment on it lol

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You lose planetary status and you’d be pretty cold too.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I never HAD planetary status. Yet. Someone invite me out to a hambie

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why is space cold when it's a vacuum unable to be defined as having temperature at all? I think I got too serious with this one

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

A lot of the particles in outer space can be extremely hot (millions of degrees kelvin) but are so sparse that they can't warm anything.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Heat vs temperature

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe its because rather than having temperature, it is Void of heat?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Space is actually not really empty. There are still a couple hundred atoms per square meter.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I think you're overestimating the size of an atom

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That'd be cubic meter. And it varies. The solar system has 5-10 million atoms/m3 while between galaxies it's less than 1 atom/m3.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ah yeah
