Saw this little guy on the porch yesterday morning (it dropped below 40degrees overnight) and assume he went a little too far from the hive looking for pollen. I mixed up some sugar water and put in a few inches in front of him in the sun and within a few minutes he worked his way to it and began collecting. Within 10 mins he was recharged and gone. Besy of luck to him.

I just did this the other day. Felt so satisfying to help one of the most important insects on the planet.

I hope you boiled the sugar water.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just use a damp spoon coated in cane sugar before depositing on the nearest flower bed. It's like crack cocaine for sleepy bees.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You put too much sugar in your sugar water and now she has diabetes. What have you done!!

I'm overwhelmed with guilt; I tried to rescue a bee from inside my apt., and his little leg broke during the capture. He couldn't be saved

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I put him on my patio with sugar water like I saw online...but he was dead the next time I checked on him :,(

How heartless! You should have put him out of his misery with your trusted shotgun but you let him suffer.

When he returns to the hive: "Guys, I found this great dive bar!"

Worker bees are ladies

9 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 2

I think this is a drone bee. Was probably out looking for a queen, ran out of juice and couldnt find a colony to land in. Still a good save.

Is it because of their Boo-Bees?

9 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 1

No, they don't have those

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

You're nothing

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

No, its because their name is Bee-yonce

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How dare you assume its gender

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 18

grow up.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It ok man I know it's a joke

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It's not even a joke. All worker bees are females. The male drones stay in the hive to mate with the queen.

*she, but yeah, this is exactly what you should do for a weak honey bee! They can exhaust themselves to the point of death.

9 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

did you just assume its gender?

LOL

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

next time use all caps and add "SHITLORD?!?!?!" at the end. that should clear things up.

Nope. Actually reported the gender based on science and the lack of gendered/sex socionorms in the hive. Females work, men die, queens breed
