Yep. I still miss it too this day, I would've been running the shop by now if I had stayed, but I might also could've died from a heart attack at 28 from the stress, so there's that
I took time off to help out a friend whose baby was in the hospital after being shaken by the sitter. I put in my leave, my boss assured me they'd take care of it, and then off I went. Got back and it had never been approved. Spoke with my boss (to make sure I got charged properly for it) and they just canceled it and said not to worry about it. Lot of shit bosses out there; I've been lucky enough to have several really good ones.
Quit a job 2 years ago that, in my 2nd year there, they encouraged me to take and approved a 14-day LOA for my honeymoon. I was fine using only PTO. But my final year there I was told to not even bother submitting the request for a leave i actually needed, because they just weren't approving any leave. This was 2021. I quit 5 months later
I worked in a morgue as pick up. Rough job, shit hours and pay. Some okay people but honestly you spend too much time confined and it's hard to get along.
But I was performing a necessary function of society, and doing my best to do so with kindness. I think that is worth it. But the manager is only met twice decided that we all had to wear formal suits to a physical labor job. Meaning that I would have to overhaul my wardrobe and wear a suit outdoors in the 100 and up Summer months.
Sorry, sometimes synonyms are not completely clear to non-native speakers: Manager prevented you from quitting in such difficult times, or manager didn't allow you to take time off?

Here it's the CTO and VPs ruining what was once a great place to work. I have great coworkers, but everyone is sad all the time lately.

Not coworkers, but an insufferable boss for sure.

I am definitely the coworker that's ruining my job.

Co-workers make the job. 90% of work is dealing with those around you. Some people make it harder than it has to be.

If you’re in the US, still need to take time, and have a medical professional to consult, you may be able to use FMLA.

Found a job working overnight with no physical labor, sparse customer interaction and a ton of downtime. Making an extra $2 an hour.
It's so fucking stupid.

"my leave" in this context means "my annual leave" or "my carers leave"

Didnt allow me to take time off, in his words "Team our attendance is failing , So I wont be approving any leaves

Sounds like a typical useless beureaucrat with zero empathy or intelligence. I've had those. Definitely left a couple of places because of them.
