It was a long shitty road but now things are looking up. I got a job with room to grow in my field of study, i can't ask for much more. Enjoy this GIF of a successful otter.

I just got turned down for a job today that I really thought I was qualified for. But good for you man, hope my search isn't that long
greenlanternshark
I was getting turned down for jobs that I clearly over qualified for, it hurts but keep moving forward.
mysteriousasthedarksideofthemooooon

Congrats! I've been there, 8 1/2 months of daily applying to multiple jobs, maybe getting an interview a week! I cried a lot and pulled thru
greghaki
She'll never read this but my gf at the time helped me more than she knows, every day with cover letters and resume edits.
Beansidhe
Congrats...and getting a job in your field - that's amazing.
Bluegrasslass
Well done!!
ssyoda2
Congrats. You know. For all the jobs that are out there, it's amazing to me how long it takes to get one. It took my SO six to nine months.
shitduke
spent three years, had three interviews and still no job
defaultbunny
I think you OTTER celebrate!... :-D
EmBoT5000
Congrats OP! I'm currently on month 6 trying to find a damn job.. the struggle is real :(
greenlanternshark

TANEY500
Don't stop. I was jobless for about 15 months, but am in a way better situation now
Duendes
Lucky, I had 5 rounds of "interviews" for a position which I didn't get bc a guy who I would never talk to didn't like my "personality"
BoldTurkey
Well done! I've been unemployed for nearly as long and as soon as I find something, I'm reposting this otter
greenlanternshark
I look forward to seeing it
BoldTurkey
I'm so on it!
paulpounder
Not only will this job do wonder for your wallet it will do wonders for your mind and stress levels too. Took me 8 months to find a good job
peketu
My wife used to cheer me up saying that the more time looking, the more chances the guys better than me had already found a job.
bluesun68
So how many guys did she interview before you came along
themakerofkilts
She is a keeper.
DrunkDru
You hold onto her sir!
SeriouslyAwkward
Ionno every 5 months they'll have new graduates replacing those that were better than you right?

ailike
Does this reeeeeeeaally sound like the best idea right now?
CwmMakesPeopleCryInScrabble
Sometimes it can be - if it's a better job market and a lower cost of living when combining households.
Biteymcbiteface
Congrats OP! Good job! What kind of gig is it?
greenlanternshark
Environmental science specifically checking to compliance with EPA and state laws
Biteymcbiteface
...Well that's cool as fuck! You should do a workstories post!
greenlanternshark
Thanks! I'm glad someone else thinks it's interesting work
UnityIron
What's the job though?
greenlanternshark
Environmental inspections, basically making sure companies are complying with EPA and state laws
OneFuckedPony
That's awesome. Congrats!
themuttonisniceandlean

DPunicorn

TheyreGoodDogsBront
Sounds rewarding
RMaybeth
well there's a big future in that. I had a degree in business but wound up working fleet for a large west coast city. And these envir- 2/

over some thing that was essentially bullshit. An inspector had left a sensor not put back in its hanger. They're parasites
emkev
I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit/idiotic blathering. California is the 6th largest economy in the world.
Therealpaulwatson
nice I did that for a few years. Good pay if you can get into contract work
greenlanternshark
This is full time gig, so I'm pretty happy
Therealpaulwatson

greenlanternshark
Nope working for a state agency. Now once oil comes back working pipeline could be nice
