Is that Hasan Piker, the top leftist political streamer who recently told his audience he will vote for JD Vance in 2028 because he believes another democrat admin would be worse for trans people than literal fascism?
Crockett is great, but of course the racist misogynists think they'll have no problem beating the black lady but are afraid of the progressive Christian white guy. Doesn't mean they're right, but these pigs are completely predictable.
Both Crockett and Talarico are running for Dem senate candidate. Both have issues, but its Texas you're not suddenly getting a new comrade there. Talarico took some Adelson money before but it was gambling related. He has refused to take AIPAC money. Crockett has not taken AIPAC money, but has a history of taking money after, has taken trips on AIPAC dime, and has voted for arms for Israel. Crockett seems performative but still establishment Dem, Ide vote Talarico if I lived in TX.
With Crockett could the Republicans run against someone who also voted for sending weapons to Israel and took corporation PAC money. No Grassroot support at all.
Hasan haters are a bit unhinged. Regardless, it looks like he's correct here. For those not familiar, Girdusky is a conservative commentator who managed to get banned from CNN for being racist (involving a totally different Hasan). I think Talarico and Crocket are both decent options, but Talarico looks like the better choice, but still far from perfect. Crocket has a larger history in the national eye, and I think repubs see a lot of it as attack material.
The Dems suddenly supporting another fucking white Christian boy over a black woman who has proven herself worthy is why I left the Dems during Biden, after 45 years.
They're talking about the primary. There isn't a Republican in this Democratic primary. If it's in your district, go vote for the more left candidate. Democratic socialists and social democrats are stronger against MAGA than liberals are. So if you're American, push for a strong left candidate. No more weak ass liberals that will fund ICE when they're up in the rotation.
In some states with open primaries, yes. But you can only vote in one primary so you only typically see this kind of push if the other party's preferred candidate isn't being run against or isn't in a tight race themselves in their own primary.
Okay, can somebody dump some knowledge about what this is about? Is this about some primary in TX? What position has both Talarico and Crockett vying for it? I thought both were on the same anti-GOP team? As an non-american, I'm confused here.
I’m curious about that, too. Talarico and Crockett both seem great, and Hasan is a lefty with a pretty big platform. I kinda wish they weren’t both going for the same Senate seat, but it is what it is
If Crockett wins, Hasan will go on a hate campaign against her. If Talarico wins, he'll do nothing and pretend like he had something to do with that win. Kinda like he did with Mamdani in NYC.
The Republican-run FCC banned a CBS interview that Colbert had with Talarico https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh7DPSP65JA And now a conservative pundit who used to be on CNN is endorsing Crocket. My guess is that Crocket is closer to being a centrist than Talarico is. This wouldn't be the first time Republicans supported a centrist going up against a leftist. That's not to say that Crocket is as bad as Cuomo was. Just that primary voters need to pay attention to the policies.
Talarico is to the left of her, but she's definitely not a centrist (she's part of the Progressive Caucus)…pretty sure the Rs want her in because a brash (aka "uppity") Black woman has a much bigger hill to climb in TX than a nice Presbyterian white boy.
Texan here. They’re both running in the Democratic primary for the open Senate seat. Yeah, I don’t like that they’re running against each other either, as I like them both. Two different strategies against the same opponent. That said, I’m also planning to finally get out of Texas.
I think a healthy primary with two quality candidates that have differing approaches sounds like a fuckin dream. Can I get some of that up here in the midwest?
Does Talarico currently hold an office? Does joining the primary for the Senate seat mean that Crockett might have to give up her Congress seat if she loses the primary, or is that not in danger if she would step back, for example?
When Texas redistricted, they moved her home to a different district already represented by another Democrat. She can run in her old district but the new lines for that district were made to limit minority voting power, making it more difficult.
I can’t tell you how many years I’ve been listened to these blatantly racist capitulations of “We should vote for the white guy this time because Texas isn’t ready” They’ll never be ready, you just have to jam it down their throat.
They're afraid of Crockett being a senator, but they might be making the gamble that blunt, outspoken, take no shit black woman is going to turn out Texas bigots in record numbers if she's the candidate.
Has there been any polling of the Latino vote for this senate seat? Because that’s what’s really gonna determine this. I’ve heard repubs numbers with them are pretty terrible.
Crockett? Who surrendered at the Alamo? Who was hanged at the Alamo? That Crockett? The cannibal, Davy Crockett? The man who fought to keep slavery legal? That guy?
No. Davy Crockett, who held back the Mexican army at the Alamo, allowing Sam Houston to route Santa Ana, and establishing the Free Republic of Texas, which did not have slaves, it didnt have slaves until the US annexation.
I am certain Davy Crockett was hanged at the Alamo. Yup, President General Santa Anna hanged that "Indian Killer". Whitewashed propaganda aside, he deserved it.
He's speaking the truth here, but even a broken clock can still be right twice a day. Can't forget that he is Amazon's highest paid employee who regularly teams with the 2nd highest paid employee to tell people not to vote for Democrats.
He's also an animal abuser. And a self-proclaimed "socialist" who lives in a multi-million dollar mansion in the desert. So, you know. I'll leave it to the reader to judge the value of his input on any given topic.
To say that Amazon pays him and therefore he has his politics like he does is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard about a Twitch streamer that gets his money from his audience.
If he only got money from his audience, who are far, far poorer than he is, that would be even worse... But no, he doesn't just take donations, he also has sponsorships and Twitch is, in fact, owned by Amazon. Hasan and Asmongold are the most popular streamers on the planet and all they do is parrot Jeff Bezos' anti-democrat positions. Famously, everyone at TYT hates unions just as much as Bezos does.
Man, you don't even understand how Twitch works. None of what you just said makes any sense.
Twitch/Amazon doesn't pay out, they take a cut. And while Hasan And Assmold rank high on the Twitch popularity, neither are top streamers (you might've heard they're top POLITICAL streamers, that one is true; cause it excludes several others). Finally, Hasan doesn't work for TYT since 2020, after he was famously fired.
Pardon me, I meant top political streamers, which they are by a large margin. I'll say once again, Twitch is owned and platformed by Amazon, it even happens on their servers. For as much hay is made about "corporate news", it sure is weird that the largest corporation in the world has what amounts to an anti-Democrat news platform. He may not have worked for his uncle for a while, but they do both come from a wealthy, union busting family. Feel free to find a clip of him bashing Amazon or Bezos.
Jeff Bezos hates Democrats and loves selling cheap crap on his website. Hasan hates Democrats and loves selling his cheap crap merch on Jeff's website.
My enthusiasm for the memorandum is in absentia in the verisimilitude of the de facto oxymoronic expression interlaced with the supplementary verbosity of the subject in question. Post hoc ergo propter hoc as a Epistemological Metaphysic Ethicist I must deviate from devotees of the proposed interlocutor.

Texas is highly misogynistic, so GOP would rather a woman be the Democrat candidate in November as they are almost certain to win in that scenario.
