Laparoscopic gall bladder removal yesterday

Apr 4, 2017 11:37 PM

Emergency exploratory laparoscopy turned gall bladder removal after 3 weeks of issues yesterday. No bandages just super glue and stitches on my insides. This is my first real surgery and it's weird bc they cut into my soft underbelly! Who knew they could do so much with super glue.

This is the good puppy who has stayed by my side since getting home.

Hope you don't like fatty foods

Wow, didn't know that was day surgery now. About 10 years ago a family member had the surgery and was 2 days in hospital.

Open gall bladder removal is more invasive and it's a bigger cut=longer hospital stay. Mine was thankfully laparoscopic.

You'll be amazed, those scars will barely be visible in just a few months! Laparoscopic surgery is so much easier to recover from as well

Oh and fair warning. If they expanded your stomach with gas like they normally do, tomorrow and the next day will be the most uncomfortable

I can concur

For me it wasn't "painful" so much as uncomfortable until it finally worked out. You'll be back to 100% in no time though!

I'm better than yesterday and just have to make little movements
