Visiting London 1999. First time. Riding top of double decker bus. Look over the edge to see Mr. Smith. An old English guy that lived across from my Nana in an apartment back home in Canada. Looking up directly at me, I waved. He tipped his old hat and we drove off. He had died ( we found out) the day we left for the UK. Still think about that moment everytime I'm in the UK

My brother and I were coming back to our campsite when we were boys and something large and heavy started following us in the trees and threw a stick at us. We were sprinting and we could hear it moving through the trees coming for us. We now agree it had to have been a monkey but we were in the middle of Georgia. My dad didn’t even believe us when we got back

Mom and dad went to visit grandma after she landed in the hospital at 68 years of age after fainting one day. My uncle watched me and my brothers and nobody thought grandmas condition was serious. I remember looking up, swore I saw grandma (we lived over 600 mi away), and that she said she wanted to see us one more time and say goodbye, and that mom would call soon. I told my uncle, and a few minutes later mom called to let us know grandma passed. My uncle will tell you the same. it was weird.

My ex and I were walking through a supposedly haunted church/graveyard near her home. We stopped at a raised family plot. While reading the stones on it, I'd hugged her from behind when I'd heard a low growl and said, "Someone's hungry"
She'd spun to look at me squarely, "That wasn't me..."
"It wasn't me..."
No one else was around, not even birds or squirrels, so we left quickly, thoroughly creeped out.

Me and my mother lived in a rented 2 story house. Walking down the stairs I always saw in the corner of my eye the same person of none specific gender in old, simple cloths hanging by a rope from an old tree branch in the room downstairs. They disappeared when focused on. My mother saw and described the same person, guests did as well when asked what they saw.
It wasn't really scary or threatening at all, just sad.
They still hung there when we moved out 7 years later when rent got unbearable.

Once I was walking to the fridge. As I reached for the handle I'm suddenly in the middle of nowhere walking. The world is silent, with slightly muted colors. There are trees far away. The only sound is the sound of the gravel beneath my feet. The world just feels "empty". I see a sword on the ground and pick it up, but set it back down because there's no point in it, no point in anything. And I just continue walking. Then I finish reaching the fridge handle. Nothing like that before or since.

Not supernatural, bit eerie as hell.
After my grandpa's funeral and subsequent dinner, we were driving home down a backroad with fields on either side. It was dark.
Up ahead, thought I saw a stop sign so I started slowing down. As we neared we saw it as a red balloon. Rolled to a stop as it slowly drifted across the road about 3ft from the ground, dragging a string along. No one said a word.
Once it was on the other side of the road entering the field, we slowly rolled past and went home.
ThatShiftyMonkey
Took us a minute to say "just me, or was that really weird?"
To this day whenever someone mentions eerieness, one of us says "remember that balloon?"

When I was at Fort Leonard Wood MO for basic we stayed at a barracks that was the site of a suicide during the Vietnam War, had several encounters with the ghost of the soldier who killed himself there. Mostly he would just be at the other end of the long hallway from our platoon and would stand guard, but disappear if you walked down to his section. He also spoke to me when I told him I was leaving the barracks and I will never forget his words he said "I wish I could leave too."

I also went through ft lost in the woods, 12B. No ghosts though. Just lots of “fun”.

I was at work alone late at ~3am. While mixing the sourdough starter the lights flickered in the corner and I had the feeling someone was in the bakery. A few minutes later i heard a door slam. After being genuinely scared for my life, the phone rang only to answer to garbled nonsense. I sat in my locked car for the rest of the night until the opener came in around 4am

Me and my nephew were playing Yugioh, and I saw a person walk by doorway in the hallway, the only other room in the tiny apt was the bathroom. After a second I said "hey Mikey, your grandma didn't flush haha." And he laughed and said that's true. Then after a second he said "uncle Matt, mom and grandma are at the store..." scared the shit out me.

Kind of amusing to see ghosts from the 1960s talked about the way I used to view Victorian-era ghosts.

Lived in this house for a year, old and weird, lots of odd things about it. I take the room in the daylight basement. It has a Dutch door for some reason. There is a small bedroom down there too, always feels cold, creeps everyone out. My brother's girlfriend shares custody with her 2 girls, ends up having them over sometimes, makes up that little room for them. One evening while they are over, and with my brother's 2 kids the house really feels kind of crowded to me, I'm heading to the ---
ElbowDeepInUserSub
--- stairs from my room to head up where everyone is. The door to that room is open about 6 inches, it it is pitch black inside. As I'm walking towards the stairs, I hear whispers from that room, and once I am close I can make out "shhh, he's right there". I push the door open and turn on the light, and there is no one in the room. Just typing this gives me full body goosebumps.

I lived in a rental house for about 10+ years. Would see a fat old guy in red flannel shirt with suspenders in the kitchen, but only through the reflection of the windows. I never told anyone. Ababysitter called me freaked out explaining the exact guy in the kitchen. 1 Halloween a family that used to live here asked if "i ever saw anything weird"? Oh boy I have, so many times in that house. Landlord bought house new, no one ever died it in it.

#8 Officer! I wasn't speeding. There is a supernatural explanation for this!

My paranormal experience was pretty mundane compared to many of these, but here goes: I was working on the computer one night and had some fingernail clippers on the table in front of me when the clippers just started wobbling back and forth on their own. There was nothing shaking the table, it was rock solid, and nothing else was moving, just these clippers which seemed to take on a life of their own for a good 20-30 seconds. They eventually stopped and I never figured out why they did that.

Worked in a funeral home. One day it was quiet; no visitations, no meetings, nothing. Me and one of the other directors were sitting in the front office by the front foyer, which was two stories, open, with a second floor banister running around the outside of it. An FDA was asleep in the visitation room upstairs. While we were burning time waiting for the shift to end, me and the other director heard a very distinct "Hello?" from the front desk. It was odd because we had a front door alarm 1/?
DamnThursdays
which sounds when someone walks through the doors so someone can go out to greet them. We both walked out, and there was no one. We called up to the FDA on the third floor and we did a full search of the building. The other FD took the offices, the FDA took the second floor and stairwells, and I took the first floor visitation and prep room. There was no one anywhere in the building. We were the only three. We reconvened back in the foyer, FDA on the second floor, the FD coming out of the 2/3

offices, and myself walking down the visitation suite hall and we all looked at each other like... what the heck? We all heard it, right? "Hello?", it came again, and all our eyes followed our fingers to the center of the foyer "There! it came from there!" we all said a variation of that. Not the center on the ground or second floor; the *center* of the foyer, as if the disembodied voice came from floating between the two floors. We were more excited than scared, and it was crazy to experience.

Moved into a new house and had a vivid dream about a murder there, house looked the same but one of the doors was backwards, I thought it was odd but when I woke I checked the door frame and there were old marks opposite side where the old door had been hung.

#3 That means nothing. Most adults would smile and nod at a child who stares at them

On the tube you try to avoid eye contact to give people their space, but if it happens it's only polite to do the awkward nod/smile of recognition.

My little brother was deathly ill at 5 years old, fevers of 104+, ice baths, lost 1/3 of his body weight, months in the hospital. At the same time my dad's best friend died in a plane crash. During one of those fever hazes, my brother told my parents that "Jonathan's plane went off the end of the runway and hit the lights and he's really scared." No one, not even Jonathan's wife knew any details about the crash yet because it had JUST happened but he was right - the plane went off the end of the

runway and hit the runway lights. He told them Jonathan was talking to him and told him those things. It still gives me chills... especially the part about "he's really scared." There's no way he could've known those details and my parents hadn't even told him yet that Jonathan had died since they had only just found out a few hours earlier.

I forgot my dad sent me this link recently. Here's the accident report for his friend's crash. It was pilot error :( he was in a hurry to get home and made a mistake. https://reports.aviation-safety.net/1998/19980109-0_C208_N913FE.pdf

Wife and I travel to Tucson often and we've stayed at the Congress Hotel a couple of times (The Congress is an Old building with a long history). First night we stayed there we woke up to the room being freezing cold, shortly after the bathroom door slammed shut latching itself. After what feels like forever, the wife and I both saw the door unlatch and slowly open back up. Later in the night we both woke up as the covers were pulled off of us toward our feet.

My wife stayed there and another time, this time by herself. She woke up to someone getting into bed with her. Scared and unable to move, she just laid there. She managed to say "Don't touch me and I won't bother you." After that the feeling someone was there went away.

I remember reading a story on here that I think was from Reddit about a guy going and speding time with his granpa (a native american) and they were driving home and something chased their car and the grandpa was praying aloud in his Tribe's language as this thing clambered over the roof and back of the car, with them telling the kid to not look out the windows. I'd love to read that again was proper spoopy.

So, when my ex told me he wanted to break up (after 7 years) it truly felt like my mind was breaking.. I was just standing there, feeling my world dissolve, staring at my fish tank. That's when this 50 gallon tank just cracked. Water started pouring out of the bottom, it was bizarre. I know it's probably just a coincidence, but I can't help but feel like my emotional distress somehow caused that tank to crack without touching it.

Driving back from Indiana to Nevada I stopped to cop a nap at the Winslow rest area. Rented van, middle of the night, I just stretched on the middle seat and passed out about 2s after going horizontal. Woke up suddenly, and that weird INSTANTLY AWAKE kind of wake up, with the feeling I was being watched. Looked out the window and there was this ancient ass old Native man standing there. Dude looked like the back side of a 200 year old wallet. Move up to the front and dude is gone. Then 1/2

I realise how god damn cold it had actually gotten, like you're about to freeze kind of cold. Idk why my brain decided to manufacture Weeping Tears to wake me up but it's likely for the best that it did, I've had some survival training and it was rapidly approaching the temps where if you're sleeping without protection, you might not wake back up. Strange part is other First Nations folk I know also have met old leather man when they're in danger, apparently he watches over us half breeds.
Prunest
Does this spirit have a name y'all call him by? I've always found First Nation ghost stories and legends to be the most frightening cus I do a lot of hiking and exploring in untamed woods/mountains in the US. Reading about a benevolent spirit tempers that fear I have of Things in the wilderness

Weeping Tears was, ironically, not Native American.

Driving on the highway through Wyoming not too far from Devil's Tower in a van with 3 other guys in the middle of the night when suddenly all the gauges on the dash ping to 100% - speedometer, gas, battery voltage, oil pressure, all of them maxed out. Driver pulls over immediately and we check it out. As we are standing on the roadside we can see the northern lights. Must be a solar storm we thought. Get back in the van a few minutes later, starts up fine and we take off, however somehow in ...

I still swear to this day I saw someone fall quite a distance on devils tower. A climber in a red coat, maybe 3/4 of the way up, then fell and landed on a ledge. The ledge was at such a height still that you wouldn't be able to see if someone was laying on it.

Could have been a base jumper or a climber rappelling fast...

I did, but I was 13 and nobody took me seriously. Whether they investigated my claim or not after we left, I have no idea.

Those few minutes about 2 hours passed and none of us could account for it. We all knew only a few minutes passed but the clock was the same on the van and our phones. Two hours just gone right by where the final scene in Close Encounters was filmed.

(1) Okay, so, I'm a bit psychic. I know you're thinking bullshit, but hear me out because it's dumb and useless. I really do see the future, but only in my dreams, and it's always something mundane like a conversation, or me playing a video game that I don't even own yet. When I wake up, I only vaguely remember any of it, and it's all gone by the end of the day. Then, like a month later, the dream actually happens and I instantly remember everything. I immediately get irritated at the situation.
2graves
This used to happen to me often. At least once a month. It seems to happen less frequently now for whatever reason. Probably my horrible sleep schedule
Notsomuchamanbuthaveacode
I’ve never tried to explain this but I also get this. The weirdest one recently was a feeling I had in a dream like I was happier than ever, during a terrible depression streak. I could feel myself sitting at my computer, even though I was asleep in bed. I typed in a specific word before I woke up.
Cut to about a month later. I’m starting up Baldur’s Gate 3. As I finish character creation and type in the name I get a whole flash of having been there before. That’s when I remembered the dream.
Etherealvalentine
This happens to me too

(2) I usually yell something like dammit, or I get this exasperated look on my face. It happens enough that my wife sometimes recognizes my reaction and asks if I'm having a deja vu moment. The only actual positive to this "ability" is that I have ridiculously good instincts about the strangest things sometimes, which I attribute to my subconscious remembering something from a dream that I don't recall.
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Had a dream once like that. Was sitting at my aunts patio in another state, talking to some lady I'd never met. A few weeks later, it happened exactly like my dream! Was only about 12 years old, and it's never happened again.
Mugendramon
How can you tell that you dreamed it some time ago and your mind doesn't just fool you the way deja vu usually does?
dlbgaw
The first thing that always clicks in my mind when it happens is remembering when I woke up from the dream and what little I could remember at that time. Then, the rest just floods in all at once and essentially "plays" alongside the event happening in real time. The reason why it frustrates me is because it's like living the same few moments three times over; once in the dream, then twice at the same time because while it's happening in real life, it's replaying in my mind.
feryooday
I have dreams like this too
