He cannot enact it himself...in fact, he isn't even involved in the process: https://www.archives.gov/federal-register/constitution

Considering that even with Executive Orders, the POTUS cannot unilaterally pass an amendment to the COTUS, that would indeed be major.

Wouldn't the Senate and Congress have to pass this? So in other words, fire themselves? Yeah, not gonna happen.

Technically the states could get together and pass an amendment that forgoes both sides of congress, but that's never happened. Ever.

He can't. They have to introduce it. They have to fuck themselves. They have been pissing in our faces to long to do that.

I'm on the fence about term limits. I think when people say "we have term limits, it's called voting," they have a point... Im undecided.

If our govt were decided by a popular vote only, they'd have a point. As it stands, gerrymandering, ballot regulations, etc, all support /

incumbency and a two party system. It also encourages the practice of tactical voting rather than voting for the person you believe is best.

Term limits are dumb shit. "STOP ME BEFORE I VOTE AGAIN!" People can throw their guy out at every election. They just choose not to.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

They're not dumb in a system in which the two main parties collude against any new competitors.
