I had to do an off-duty rescue similar to this in 2005. Dog ran out, kid followed, both fell through. Passerby ran to my house to call 911.
2/2. Called it in then went to help. Another passerby was in the water. Jumped in and took over because he looked strained/tired.
/3 in the end, all three of us plus the dog got out fine. Rescue crew arrived shortly after and helped warm us until an ambulance arrive.
