"Nerd Shit In Space" is my favorite caption ever.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, where's Stanley Kubrick?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But how can the moon landing be real if our eyes aren't real?

9 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Jaden Smith?

Dangit, you beat me to it. +1

Come to think of it... search for "Moon Machines" on youtube. You'll enjoy.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

these are a lot of amazing photos, but there were even more. There was a fire at nasa and water/smoke destroyed a lot of originals (pt/1)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a teacher in highschool who had a former student who had a connection to someone who worked at nasa at the time before the fire (pt/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the student had lots of photos and donated them to my teacher. he probably is the only one left with these pictures at this point. (last pt)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. I wish we were doing cool stuff like this today.

9 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 4

It's funny because the next post shows what happens when we try to do space stuff today.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Have you not heard of the International Space Station?

"We Stopped Dreaming" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbIZU8cQWXc

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, I am aware that we are doing "space stuff." But in 1960's going to the moon was a HUGE deal, and today that adventure seems lost a bit.

My teacher is currently part of a team that's working on the Mars Colonization Manual that will include everything you'd need to know in

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Order to survive on mars. Physics, engineering, radiation health, psychology, pathology, toxicology... everything. They're planning to have

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

An earth supported colony on mars within 20 years and a fully self sustaining colony within 40 years.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Working on getting to Mars right now, actually. The project is called Orion. Look that shit up, it's pretty neat.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Yea the first test vehicle was launched Dec. 2014. I was privileged to see the bare prototype, among other things, in 2012..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I will, thanks. I guess we just take it all for granted now; it doesn't seem as novel as it did then, so it's not so popularized.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Always upvote Apollo program.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why didn't you upload all 8,000?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

God, it must have stunk soo bad in the modules. Three grown men sweating and farting and shitting for several days

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I can barely deal with the current smell of my stale farts in my room. I kind or love it but sometimes find it gross. I just don't know man.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nuh uh theres no slectricity in spaces

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wonder who was the first person to masturbate on the moon

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I've been told it's not physically possible when the gravity is too low. My source is... the radio, but beyond that, no idea.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If i had to guess, I'd say buzz

ME SOMEDAY

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you want to know the gear and film used. Cameras were modified Hasselblad 500's. They used 70mm film (same stuff Imax films are made on)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The image size are all 6x6cm. The actual emulsions used were kodak Ektarchrome SO-86 and SO-121. Kodak 2485 rated at ASA 16,000.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Black and White emulsion used was Kodak Pantomatic. Most of the cameras are still on the moon as nasa only wanted the film backs.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you for not uploading all of them. And thank you for uploading some.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do not support his lazy ass!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So what's the deal with the vertical valley/canyon in this pic? It crosses the crater. Anyone?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're called rilles. If you were determined you could probably find this one's name.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's a big "if", spud comic. But thanks for the info.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably a meteor that hit at a REALLY shallow angle. Wouldn't happen on earth, but since the moon has no atmosphere...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

not to nit pick but why is it that in photo number 9 the earth is bigger than it appears in photo number 11

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#1 shows the duct tape fix for Apollo 13 http://sploid.gizmodo.com/this-is-the-actual-hack-that-saved-the-astronauts-of-th-1598385593

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Random mode-- was looking to see if anyone else know. You made my day :)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FAKE! *adjusts tinfoil hat*

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And dumbasses try to argue that we've never actually been to the moon.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Explain that flag waving with no air... thought so.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 20

You are a special kind of dumb

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dawww :D you noticed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you serious?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Where is Tom Hanks?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

*Technically* He's in the first pic. Off to the left. Jack Swigert is holding the LiOH canister and Jim Lovell is handing him tubes.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, any pic that shows the Earth includes Tom Hanks.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I often wonder why no one ever went to the moon again after this.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's an incredibly dangerous and expensive mission. Anything a man can do a robot can do cheaper.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Proof! #2 shows a ghost on the moon!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And you know whats even neater is how it looks like that ghost is wearing shades & sticking its tongue out @ the sun.. xD

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every one of them faked (removes tongue from cheek and grins at conspiracy nuts).

9 years ago | Likes 205 Dislikes 11

Big stash of photos released after photoshop is invented... convenient.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 10

They carefully photoshopped put the aliens

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The moon landing was indeed faked however, Stanley Kubrick was so detail obsessed with realism that he insisted on filming on location

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I've got a hunch that if we pretend to have landed on the moon, that will be in some way intimidating." https://youtu.be/P6MOnehCOUw

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's precisely the proper amount of clarification you need for online sarcasm. Take note people!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Buzz Aldrin is gonna punch you in the face

9 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 1

Love him for that

One of the only times I've ever seen a court essentially go " Can't prosecute, I mean come on lads, the cunt was fuckin' asking for it, eh"

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Frankly, it'd be worth it for the honour.

Chemical photography has been way ahead of digital resolution until recently, and still is for most affordable purposes.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Mine was rhetoric... I wasn't being serious

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Still like your answer however

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For some reason photo #9 looks very fake to me, especially in comparison to #11 .. not trying to say the landing was fake though.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can see where you're coming from, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with orbits/timing of the pictures, maybe even differing zoom levels

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) the picture just looks off, no matter what I look at. at best, I'd say it's just a composite.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the orbit isn't going to make earth look 10x bigger.. it's not just that though, the ground looks weird too.. everything in

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As I started to scroll the thought crossed my mind that this crazy kid actually uploaded all 8000.

9 years ago | Likes 1337 Dislikes 0

I was scared for my data

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

same thought! haha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes haha

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Me too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... And I was bound and determine to get through at least 2000 before jumping to comments!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Someone will do it for sure.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was waiting to see "load remaining 7,990 images"

9 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 0

Like the black twitter dump of 5,000 lol. I feel like the Moon looks cool enough on the first 20 or so... Black Twitter though gimme gimme

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Sauce?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought about it haha

9 years ago | Likes 294 Dislikes 0

Are there any of any of the floating cabin turds of apollo 10?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The gauntlet has been thrown!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

But then I settled on 14

9 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 2

Dude, if the black twitter dump could be a pilgrimage sight, 9k moon mission photos would eaaaasily be!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Post more!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well. Only 7,986 to go! Get uploading sir.

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

You did good!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quitter!

Make an acc called "ANewHDApolloPicEveryDay" and post one pic a day. 2.5 decades later (roughly) you will lots of imaginary internet points.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm doing it

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This is gold

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you would've crashed all of Imgur, and you knew it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It struggles with 100 image albums at times. 8k HD photos would crash their servers twice.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm.. what's the limit Imgur allows?

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I hace seen 3k black Twitter posts so, a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've seen a wallpaper post with 12,000

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That would've been a long read...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

does anyone have the link to it? I accidentally deleted the bookmark
