MAKE TEXAS BLUE AGAIN!

How is he not in jail? Isn't he a literal criminal?

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Paxton and Republicans are guided by religious extremism.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nazi

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry, just wanted to check, these are the same people who were gnashing their teeth about masks and vaccines? Shrieking until they were blue in the face that the government was making medical decisions for them?

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How is Ken not dead yet?

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Search his hard drive for the love of god. Publish his search history. Guarantee he's up to some shady shit.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ken Paxton should be in prison. But gov. Greg Abbott saved his ass. The Republican Party is a cabal of criminals.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So they love to call it a mental illness and then not allow mental health treatment for it? Man, it almost makes me think that maybe the cruelty is the point. /s

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Republicans are committing trans genocide.

3 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

they sure are trying to. And the Dems don't seem particularly motivated to stop them.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

An AG doesn't set law or policy.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The US has been anti health for the population for a while now. Sick people are desperate. Desperate people are willing to make concessions. This is their culture.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Funny how they kept asking what rights are people losing? We foresaw this happening

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Land of the free...

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Time to intentionally miscode all mental trans mental health visits as "conversion" therapy.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

More bullshit that will be overturned. And that asshole knows it. He demands suffering

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We'll have to take it to federal court though because Paxton runs all of his nonsense through Collin County judges, some of the most conservative in the state. It will take years.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Paxton needs to be Kirk'd.

3 weeks ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

It's pronounced "ghhrk". You have to hold your throat and then slump afterwords while saying his name.

3 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How can an AG do this? Why does this office have this power?

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is doing it by the Republican power of "Fuck you, stop me if you can."

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

People are monsters, Republicans are shit.

3 weeks ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 4

It's not fair to tar all the members of a group with the same brush, but when it comes to Republicans and MAGA, just point the way to La Brea.

3 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Well, why not? It is pointless to lay hopes on the good ones if they aren't willing or able to do something about it. At the moment, in america, it seems to be an will issue, not ability.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

How many steps do you think are you away from locking trans up in concentrationcamps? 1 or 2?

3 weeks ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I was hoping we'd make it to the midterms before that.

I figure if the Republicans pull off enough voter subversion to keep the house of Representatives... I have to leave the country.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In the red states, probably 1 or 2. Everywhere else, maybe around 3 or 4.

3 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Fun story: I was recently caring for a trans child who is now neurologically devastated because she hung herself. Even as a now vegetable the parents continue to deadname her, and I really just wanted to ask them if they realized why their daughter attempted what she did. Of course, I have no way of knowing for sure, but I feel safe enough to put money on it. This was naturally in Texas. My state can F off.

3 weeks ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

So awful.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So dumb and hurtful. Can't a Trans person just keep it on the down-low and just sign up for therapy, go to therapy and talk about their mental health and their sessions are protected under Dr -Patient confidentiality rules?

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Dr patient confidentiality gets broken when you are going to harm yourself or others. They probably consider it to be harming yourself since "you are only what you're born as" in Texas. Fucking pieces of shit Texas government

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The problem is the Doctor will risk losing their license and going to jail. Sure, some may be willing to risk it but it's a hell of a thing to ask.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sounds like the mental health care industry in Texas needs to rebrand itself as a religion. It's still legal for clergy to "counsel" people who need help, after all. The churches don't even seem to mind taking money for it. Insurance is an issue though.

3 weeks ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 2

The Satanic Temple has its own reproductive health care clinics, next up therapy with satan :)

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is the kind of rebellion I can get behind.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just take the copay as payment. $20 an hour to do the lord’s work? Sounds like win win to me.

3 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

No way this would work if they stuck to copayment equivalents. Copays are the deductible for the insurance premium, and insurance companies certainly won't cover them if they do this.

SOME medical workers would be willing (free clinics exist), but the majority of them would refuse to lose those insurance payments.

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

They should be working for free as a servant to the lord. 20 bucks is 20 bucks.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

A lot of the insurance cost in the US these days is to allow for infinite profits for the insurance industry, tho

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Truth. And it sucks. Our insurance system grossly obfuscates the actual monetary value of necessary services, and exploits that to inflate profits.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

ah yes the lets torture them till they change is truly an example of the land of the free.. So much Freedom. The freedom to kill the disadvantaged for profit.

3 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ken Paxton needs to try on a woodchipper for size.

3 weeks ago | Likes 190 Dislikes 2

One size fits all, he can just slip in to it.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feet first

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As long as he gets in, the result should be okay for us, right?

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"The cruelty and suffering is the point" party deserve nothing less than what they reap.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lol...you're gonna get an email...lol...though I do concur. Him and the guv.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am allowed to wish him harm, just not plan to enact it.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wished the wheelchair bound arsehole harm...got an email...unfortunately it was to the email my wife can also read...and she was none too pleased. That was years ago and she STILL doesn't trust me on "forums"... Shrug. Perhaps I need to work on kindness...which unfortunately is lost on "these people" so I lose hope in kindness if it's to be shown to assholes. No time for it. Save it for people who deserve it.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, thank you.

3 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

How the fuck can an AG declare what is or isn't legal? Did the legislature pass this as a law or is he just making shit up?

3 weeks ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

No one will stop him. Laws arent real, you can do anything you can't be stopped from doing. No one will stop Paxton because there is no opposition.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He's a Republican. Republicans are authoritarian Nazis. All of them. They all lust for the centralization of power into a monarchy again.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He can’t, not really, but he can issue something akin to an executive order asking the state legislature to put that into place

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes he makes shit up and he's running for John Cornyn's senate seat. If he gets it he'll be an even bigger national problem.

3 weeks ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

That thought makes me queasy. With him and Cruz as our faces in the Senate it'd be a 24/7 loop of out-of-tune dueling banjos, but crueler.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The upside is that he's no longer AG in that case and you guys could have a shot at fixing the state.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m cautiously optimistic. The guys is corrupt to the core and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone who likes him, but the same is true for Cruz so we’re probably still fucked.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a lot of people running for that seat. Crockett or Talarico gets it we'll damn sure have better representation.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Paxton should be in jail for securities fraud but the Republicans in Texas realized if they punished him they would all be fucked so they just dropped the investigation.

3 weeks ago | Likes 466 Dislikes 3

Don't forget the Mont Blanc pen he stole, too.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Texas is a political cesspool.

3 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Securities fraud is federal crime not state

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It was a federal investigation. The Republicans in Texas refused to impeach him. The securities fraud tardiness is on Trump AND BIDEN AND GARLAND who didn't do shit for four fucking years

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yeah you are right and that's somehow worse.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep. Looking forward to voting tomorrow

3 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

It's just a primary. Are you a Republican?

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Absolutely not. That said, in Texas, where I live, there's a lot to be said for voting in the Republican primary. There are two strategies: 1. You vote for the least electable Republican, to give the Democrat a better chance at winning, or vote for the last disgusting Republican, because even though Texas is a people state in reality, the people who actually turn up to vote here tend to be conservative. I'm still doing the Democratic primary, though, negate I'm passionate about two candidates.

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

When's the last time, other than when they screwed over one of their own financially, has the GOP in any state or federally held one of their own accountable?

3 weeks ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 2

Nixon? It’s been a while.

3 weeks ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

3 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Republican Gerald Ford gave Nixon a full and unconditional presidential pardon less than a month after he was sworn into office.

3 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

True. Still, you can’t say there was zero accountability when he was forced into resignation.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The last semblance of dignity to come out of the party.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wait WHAT? You can't go and claim something is a mental health issue on one hand and then deny mental health treatment in the other.

I mean, hypocrites can.

Oh...... I see now. They ARE hypocrites!

3 weeks ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 4

Just clarifying - I didn't -just- have an epiphany. It's common knowledge the majority of politicians are hipocrites.

3 weeks ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

It's more that trans people are incapable of being good in their minds. They are not human. Only humans get metal health care for mental health issues. Choosing to be okay with remaining trans means a person's choosing to remain evil to them so the only way to becoming good is to not be trans.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hypocrisy builds! See many MAGA use evangelical Christian beliefs as a foundation (scapegoat) for their actions. One of the fundamental tenants of Christianity is that no one is good and we've all fallen short of Gods law - thus needing a savior to redeem us. He loves all of us and we have value as we are created in Gods image. But if they do not view trans as humans then they are again hypocrites to their own (claimed) belief system.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's saying to them that trans people aren't just demons and therefore "not human"? Therefore they are not subject to the redemption of the saviour. That's just how they work, it's not hypocrisy in their mind it's about two separate sets of rules. Rules for them, who are good and righteous, and rules for everyone else, who are evil and malicious.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still hope they see sense and repent all the same.
