The happiest of wholesome birthdays

This is my 5 year old puppy MrsPuckett

Today my birthday, but it's also hers!

She's come a long way from the scared dog she was in the shelter

A life of homelessness and neglect, she didn't know how to live in a loving home.

February and March it just felt like we were two strangers in the same house.

She had all this love and energy and absolutely no idea what to do with it

She couldn't make it a mile when we first met, but slowly we started running together

It not only gave her an outlet for the never-ending energy

But it started bringing us closer to each other.

We eventually moved, twice, and also got another dog PJ.

With all this change, she started to see that I was a constant in her life.

Home isn't a structure, home isn't a city or an address. Home is when we're with each other.

PJ was a tough addition at first, but they eventually started to love each other

And the running kept getting better

In July MrsPuckett nailed her goal and ran 150 miles.

August goal - 180

An added extra for all that running -

She lost a ton of weight and looks so much better.

Only 5 months difference in pictures.

I promised to take her on a long birthday run, and she made sure I remembered

She did amazing!!!

So now, for the rest of this amazing birthday

We can rest together, cuddle together, and watch all of these beautiful #wholesomeday posts roll in

Some people even sent MrsPuckett birthday gifts!!! Thank you guys!!!

We've gone from strangers in the same house -

To wondering how we could've ever lived apart.

I never thought I could love this much again.
