Definition: Trance music is a form of electronic dance music (EDM) characterized by hypnotic rhythms and sounds, with the aim of helping you reach a heightened consciousness. It is characterized by song tempo ranging generally between 128 and 142 beats per minute (BPM). It has a musical form that builds tension and sonic elements till it reaches its climax, peaks or drops. Generally, a typical trance track has 1 to 2 “drops”. A characteristic feature of most trance music is a “breakdown” with only the melody and atmospheric or hypnotic elements, which builds up for a substantial period. Obliviously I just stole this definition from some trance website, but no one reads the definitions, so it's all cool.

I tend to argue that Armin Van Buuren changed Trance to something faster/harder, then Sasha + Digs (and similar) is more 'progressive house'

They haven't made an album as good as vicious, don't think they will. Saw them live like 3 times, the US guitarist was a madman.

Above and Beyond: Tristate came at a time when Trance was a dying breed. In my opinion, that album resurrected the genre.

For some reason I discovered him when one of his songs played on a Christmas medley on the radio. It stood out and I tracked the song.

I discovered his music due to a song being used in a trailer for Ever After. “Fable” was the song if I recall. Still one of my favorites.
