THIS IS ME COMRADES

Sep 28, 2017 10:49 PM

damn straight... I'm in a piece of metal going 65mph... don't good going to happen if suddenly get stop...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone learning how to drive stick, yes please! I'm in my 30s and feel like a terrified 16y/o most of the time.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A 3 car distance is unreasonable depending on the speed. You want about 3 seconds between you instead.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

My favorite are twats who go 45 in a 35 zone, and 35 in a 45 zone because for some reason, THEY NEVER LOOK AT THE SPEEDOMETER.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have the "special" asshats that go 40 mph in the 55 zone, and then SPEED UP to go 50 in the 45 residential zone, and then SLOW DOWN AGAIN.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...But he isn't even wearing a seatbelt

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have a small car you constantly have a tailgater behind you, it really sucks

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same with a motorcycle, unfortunately. Especially harrowing if it is a truck and I can only see grill in my rear view mirror.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Safe drivers like you and me; there are literally tens of us! Tens!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

THIS! Im going to login to all my fake accounts and upvote this. Drive safe assholes. There is no excuses.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

There are a line of five cars going slowly in the fast lane? Closely tailing the last one in line will surely make them all go faster

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Uhh, "comrades"? Nice try Russian Social Media Infiltration Unit. I'm gonna keep driving at unsafe distances. Freedom isn't free, Pinkos

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

three SECONDS, not three cars...three seconds, so the distance varies based on speed. Four to be paranoid

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some people need to learn what a merge lanes is for and who is merging.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

3 car distance might not be very safe depending on the speed.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

You've obviously never driven in a city **boston** cough

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You can try to do it in cities but yeah everyone is going to pass you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd have a heart attack from people cutting me off every other second

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I go the speed limit exactly everywhere and accelerate to it like there are bees. Unless there's nobody around then it's like BEES, BEES!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unless you're on I-15 out of LA towards Vegas on a Friday afternoon. More like 1/2 car distance or some jerk will pull right into that gap

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone driving slower than me is a cunt and anyone driving faster than me is a psycho

8 years ago | Likes 258 Dislikes 8

Yet more proof the world is getting better. No psycho's in my area! Some people say they know one but I never saw him on the road.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Utah. Driving the speed limit makes you a psycho.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

George Carlin! It's good to hear from you again, dude!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i could care less if you're driving faster than me, it doesn't get in my way. Slow drivers, on the other hand...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That is literally a George Carlin bit that is decades old, but he said maniac and asshole

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I know. I misquoted but yeah

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do this but always get some assbutt shoving in, pushing me back, the enter assbutt, further back. I end up further away than when starting

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That difficult balance; enough space to be safe, not enough that some jackass can pull between making us all WAAAAY too close together!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, it generally won't make them speed up. So what's the point?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

All I ask is that you do the speed limit and I won't ride your bumper. I prefer 5 over but 5 under is just unacceptable ...

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

I'll pull over and let you pass if you are in more of a hurry than me. I feel bad for old people, they are just trying to survive but still.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

if you ride my bumper I'll adjust my speed (without breaking) so that the safe following distance is still kept

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You do know that keeping proper distance is a safety measure right? Like the "I don't wanna crash my car and/or die"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hey, thanks, I'm a nervous driver due to a wreck that crippled me. USE BLINKERS AND GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

WHY AM I THE ONLY PERSON ON THE ROAD WHO ACTUALLY HAS SOMEWHERE TO BE

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Do you want to get there alive?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, but also before I die of old age.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can get anywhere driving 220kph. It's the sudden stop of something getting in the way that kills you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Currently no. But usually yeah. But also there's a lane for people who are just out for the sake of being out. And it's not both lanes.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Three car lengths is tailgating at highway speeds. You should have a two to three second gap between you and the car in front of you.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

How is 2-3 seconds enough? If you get distracted at the wrong time for 1 second, you're fucked.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 seconds is a minimum, no reason not to make it 5 or even 10 seconds if you have the opportunity

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yay

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

two seconds is a better rule of thumb than car lengths. Good for any driving speed.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

The rhyme goes.. "only a fool breaks the two second rule... when it's wet, make it four seconds."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

^^ thank you. And anyone who doesn't understand *why* probably shouldn't be allowed to drive, but we do, and they die, and...sigh...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

driving anywhere and just seeing patches of traffic with empty zones between each because people think they have to speed up if there's room

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 seconds? So if you get distracted for 1 second, you might be fucked? Why not just have a fucking 5-10 second rule instead and be safe.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Try a fucking 5-10 second rule. See what you think.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do use 5-10 everytime I drive, it feels good. Safe distance. More room for error.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I learned either 3 seconds, or x car lengths where x is 1/10 your speed, more or less. For example, if you're going 50, leave 5 car lengths.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Only a fool breaks the two second rule. On a side note 3 seconds is better and helps to reduce stone chips

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Dateline or some such did a story waaaay back when those shows presented actual news, but sadly people just jump in front of you. It's funny

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think a local news company did a segment on the amount of time gained by being a patient driver over a lane hopping aggressive driver

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

on the freeway. the aggressive driver only gained a couple of seconds in rush hour traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sadly it's all mindset and perception for them, reality doesn't figure into it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as both of you are in the far right lane, no problems here.

8 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 10

I mean, it's fine if they are in the left lane too so long as it isn't a highway.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 48

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

"Keep right, except to pass" "Slower traffic keep right" Outright the law in many areas, common courtesy elsewhere.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Speed limit overrules courtesy laws like those. If you want to drive faster, get the limit changed on that road or get another lane added.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 19

Dumbass

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Extremely incorrect.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Transpo engineer here. Speed limits are waaaay more arbitrary than you think.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Not if they are driving under the speed limit

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 11

Actually in most states you just have to be going the same speed as the average traffic. So, you can be in the left lane and under the limit

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Even then. It is a speed LIMIT. Driving under is perfectly fine, within reason.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 37

In my stare, most highways have a speed minimum of 55 mph, when the speed limit is 70 mph. You can be ticketed for driving under that.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or state, ya know, whatevs.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, the left lane is for passing. You really impede the flow of traffic by not getting into the right lane.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 12

RUH ROH ALL THE UNDER 60MPH HIGHWAY DRIVERS SUDDENLY SEEM MORE VISIBLE

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The left lane is for passing ON A HIGHWAY. It is not specifically for passing in a city where you might be required to take a left turn.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 9

But how will they know that they're being a jackass if I don't be a jackass in return? Gotta ride that bumper.

8 years ago | Likes 184 Dislikes 21

The upvotes on this make me sad. You're endangering yourself by tailgating. Be a responsible driver.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 14

Not sure why you are being downvoted. This is true. You run into the back of someone, and it is your fault.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Car lengths? Chevrons? Wtf are those and how are they relevent to my wheelchair-bound parapalegic existence?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Couple weeks ago, semi was riding my bumper so much I had to speed up. I got to 60 mph on a 40 mph street and he was still not letting up

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

People are clueless and oblivious to the rules of the road.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

In my country roads don't even have lanes..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly. I'm not a dick unless I need to be. Maybe don't go 10 under on a single-lane road, Donna

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 4

I once rode behind a car going under 40 in a 100k zone. When we made it to an overtaking area we passed them and, 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

to none of our surprise, it turns out they were oblivious, Asian tourists. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

Fuck Donna.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Unless it's raining heavily with poor visibility.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I feel like that should go without saying, but some people do that I suppose

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe do if your skills, car, driving conditions, or combinations thereof are subpar. Safe > Speed

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you cannot safely operate your vehicle at the speed of traffic you should not be operating that vehicle.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Weather conditions being on that list is important, there's always a bunch of idiots driving like normal on the first rain after a dry spell

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hence the word “safely” and the phrase “speed of traffic” not “speed limit”

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) "Winter tires help, but mostly? We slow down."

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3) And I didn't even mention large loads, which is another excellent reason.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1) And it's frightening driving someplace that doesn't usually get snow that gets snow "HOW THE HELL DO YOU DRIVE IN THIS!?"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and then 5 cars squeeze in front of you because you maintain a safe following distance and then you miss the red light because of it

8 years ago | Likes 1117 Dislikes 12

"That space wasn't for you!"

My highway commute isn't high traffic, but THIS HAPPENS SO MUCH AND IT DRIVES ME MAD. I'm trying to be safe! The car in front of me isn't--

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

magically going to speed up the ass of the truck in front if IT, just because you cut me off! YOU FUCKING COCKWRANGLING BADGERFUCKER.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not even confident that my car will stop promptly in clear conditions, I hate when people take up my safety gap.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Incognito you know my struggle

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm always happy to miss a red light.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

This

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Heelllll yeeaaahhh lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

story of my life driving a semi, I don't leave a gap for fun it's to avoid flattening a car. always hitting brakes to keep my gap.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

On many occasions ill will sit next to the gap in my car so people cant do this to heavy drivers

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You gotta wonder about the metality of 4-wheelers who think that 10 ft is far enough to cut in front of a semi just before a red light.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yepper, every time. I think it is one of the reasons it takes my over an hour to get to work that's 13.5 miles away.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mill Creek to Bellevue, WA?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you... what? traffic ..what?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

my commute is 11 miles and takes anywhere from 40 minutes to over an hour, depending on the day

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It takes me 30 mins to drive home 3 miles, 20 minutes to get to the other side of the block, 10 minutes for everything else.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Denver?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can confirm -girl in Denver

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope, Charlotte, NC but Denver was a near loser in the positions I ended up with.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The space between me and the car infront is for me! Even if its barely a cars length in traffic you still get cunts shoot into the gap

8 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 3

This is why the future is self-driving cars and mass-transit. It's scary how dumb the average driver is.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Last guy I saw shoot into little more than a car's length was doing much more and got reported to highway patrol. I don't fuck around.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So by that logic nobody is ever allowed to change lanes to get where they are going? Where I'm from nobody will let you in when you signal

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 59

In the words of Muse, Our love is madness.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's true that if you signal, people are sometimes giant dicks about letting you in...but plan ahead and don't change lanes like a jackass.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Happens a lot? Think about what the common denominator is here....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People will literally speed up and close the gap if you are signalling

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nobody is saying never change lanes. Just to do it responsibly. We're in the real world not fucking mario kart.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Blue tortise shells!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How cool would that be, though? I roll Double Dash. Straight up prison rules.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Be the change you want to see. Signal, wait, shift when changing lanes, slow down to let someone signalling get ahead of you.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That was heartwarming

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

especially when a long line of traffic is waiting patiently to turn, and they think it's perfectly okay to just squeeze in at the front

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Or the ones that speed around you, merge in front of you almost hitting you, and slam their brakes to turn right.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The true mark of a cunt

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

not sure what makes people think their time is any more important than anyone else's to see the need to be ahead a few car lengths

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

my bladder and lack of a pee-bottle argues with your slow paced traffic line

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 40

Your random budging in just makes traffic MORE backed up. YOU DON'T GET WHERE YOU NEED ANY FASTER.
