This is Sinbad, the 9 year old Persian.
He was discovered by a utility man in the basement of an elderly man's home and reported it to the anticruelty society of Chicago.
The man was unable to take care of himself or Sinbad so he surrendered the kitty.
It took 2 sessions and some sedation to get the 5 pounds of disgusting, matted fur off of Sinbad.
He was unable to use his back legs after being shaved. The weight of the Matt had limited his ability to move for so long that he had to relearn how to walk and use a litter box.
He was also very sensitive to touch since he hasn't felt anything on his skin in so long but actively wanted human contact.
After being fostered by Elliott Serrano for only 2 days, Sinbad was formally adopted by Elliott.
Sinbad now has his own Instagram page with 6k followers. He is gaining weight, growing fur back and doing a great job of grooming himself now.
