They are cutting manufacturing prices to increase income, it has little to do with having a thin phone.

I thought she was a Geisha girl, great Photoshop skills cutting her out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck that, I would flipped her off the door. She was on the damn lifeboat and jumped back on

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My samsung is better. Apple doesn't have jack.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There must be no need as these are black market fed into china

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I prefer the bigger battery

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She was tired of getting plugged with his 3 1/2 and wanted more space for a battery-powered object

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Apple may finally die

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love that you guys are making a bigger deal out of a missing headphone jack than Samsung's phones LITERALLY EXPLODING.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Hit the road Jack and don't cha come back, No more no more no more no more, Hit the road Jack and don't cha come back, No more.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Anyone trying to defend the headphone jack, just don't. Shouldn't be possible that anybody still buys from a company like this.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

This is a worse photoshop of one on the FP yesterday :/

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

:(

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is the best one, everybody else go home.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

On a side note, people who geometrically try to prove that jack can actually fit on the door don't realize that it would sink.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Rose Gold lives on and the jack is left behind

Thank god there was room for her or else she would've been rose mold

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apple is simply doing what its always done: enforce brand loyalty by making apple products synergize so well relative to the competition

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

They dont synergize well they make everything proprietary so NOTHING works but apple stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Literally my point. The character limit prevents eloquence, unfortunately.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, setting the bar by removing the things that others would say is necessary. Like CD-rom, USB and now aux. It won't matter in the end.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 11

But... Apple was nowhere near the first to remove the CD drive from their laptops, they still use USB ports, and this is just dumb.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Time will tell.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They also weren't the first to remove the 3.5mm jack from a phone.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2015 Macbook has no USB-A ports, only a singular USB-C which is also used for charging.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you are implying people actually use macbooks for things other than browsing facebook.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There'd be no reason for anyone to die if one of those talking mattresses was in the water

9 years ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 2

Lol

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Or if rose gave jack the life jacket

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Because the life jacket protects from the cold?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

An enchanted life jacket with +12% cold resistance.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Or if he sat his ass down on the iceberg.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

on top of that life jacket. boom insulation. no more cold butts.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh man, this one is actually really funny

9 years ago | Likes 1175 Dislikes 4

If I haven't seen it before, it's new to me!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, this is the kind of creativity advertising ppl yearn for

9 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

Fo real funny

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But then the title came along...

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Well well well....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It was don't the first time...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*sienfield music plays as screen slowly fades to black*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this.... this is good; the lacking photochop skills aside, this is good.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

See, that was what made it good for me. The beautiful lack of effort.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks I guess XD

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're very welcome. Thank you for your creativity.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At least our phones don't explode.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

just to clarify. it was a fault from the battery manufacturer, who had a problem with a run. only 42 of 1M notes have that problem

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

and it really isnt an explosion, rather a heaty expansion like its common with lithium phones. happened to a 3gs of a friend

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The failure rate of apple products is orders of magnitude higher than those batteries.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol I dunno about that, had a 3GS I was using just to bring to the gym for music. The music stopped and I thought the battery died. Exploded

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It expanded like a microwavable bag of popcorn and split the screen right up the middle. Just glad it was in my bag and not my pocket.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oshid

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is there some kind of lightning to 3.5mm adapter that Apple will sell me for $30?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

$9, and one comes with the phone

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes 9$. prepare to buy 30 of them, because you will loose them so fast

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it actually comes included with the phone, as well as regular digital earbuds. The space in the phone was used for much louder speakers.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Oh. Well then I don't really see a problem with that. People just like to be upset, I suppose.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

People love jerking off i circles*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Using it prevents you from charging your phone.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah I don't know why people are flipping shit it literally comes with the adapter.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Using it prevents you from charging your phone.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This. This is my main problem. Not able to charge and listen on trains, etc, and keeping up with a myriad of adapters.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BTW, I do have wireless headphones, but when your battery is suffering, Bluetooth is not helpful.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Two cameras and no headphone jack... Plus a new $160 wirelesa headphone product for them to make even more money

9 years ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 15

they have a headphone jack adaptor I honestly don't get what the big deal is

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I think they will make the most money from all the free publicity they are getting just by removing a stupid jack.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Why 2 cameras?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This just in, they give you a dongle, which you can also buy for $9 if you loose it, that also you to jack in. I still think it's a dumb 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Idea, but I find this anger ridiculous when it comes from people that dropped $200+ on a set of headphones.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As a total Apple fan-girl, I'm furious they did this!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As another total Apple fan-girl, I used to be, but then I remembered I have never seen a sci-fi movie with regular headphones. Now I'm (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Just waiting fo them to make it more practical while enjoying my dear 5s with its jack xD (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As a 6+ owner I'll just keep my ritual of only owning the even numbered iPhones :P

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love it. That's probably the best ritual. I like the 5s better than the 6, but now I might just have to buy #9 x)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Buy it if you want, nobody's strong arming you into it. Stop cribbing like a little child.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 15

Exactly I see everyone on imgur complaining about it like their exploding Samsung is superior; it's just a phone and you don't gotta buy it

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

This just in: corporations aim to increase profits year-over-year.

9 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 5

As the old business saying goes, if you're not growing, you're declining. Especially true of large corporations though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The hell you say? They aren't all charities like Facebook?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm still waiting to hear back if my likes have cured those children's cancer

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure Apple is aiming at having all the money, all of it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Every single money.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But... You can get perfectly good Bluetooth headphones for like $25...

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

You're missing the point. Bluetooth is and always will be vastly inferior to a physical connection. A $5 set of monk earbuds will trump (1)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

In fairness, the $160 Apple ones have a lot more functions than a $25 set.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Bluetooth is a security weakness.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What do you have on your phone that is going to need to be secured?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Everything.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

totally not. Far from perfect, trust me

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

He didn't say perfect he said perfectly good! So they are just the perfect example of something that's merely 'good'.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are you a politician? With a save like that you sound like one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No I'm not but I'll take that as a compliment...even though it could easily be an insult!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ANY bluetooth headset, period. Bluetooth is in no way a replacement for the 3.5mm jack. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I have never experienced a lower quality. I quite like using Bluetooth. perhaps I just have crappy headphone choice?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bluetooth wasnt meant to push high bitrate audio. So yeah

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't use high bit rate music generally. I prefer storage capability over "amazing" quality, mostly because I don't hear much of a diff.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do get it though. for those people who enjoy paying $100 or more for headphones, the lack of a jack would be upsetting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But some people already have 300 dollar headphones.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

That does actually suck, and I didn't think about that. tis a bummer. apple is dumb anyway. Android is better IMHO.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might not be $300, but I have my $200 Audio Technica ATH-AD900X, but I'd also not buy an iPhone, so I'm not their target demographic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha. Same for me (not the headphones, but the target demographic bit).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep but now they made sure you aren't their target demographic. 100$, $200, 300$, expensive is relative, equal/greater sound quality is not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wonder how they will handle audio/video sync with BT headphones

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmmm... I didn't think about that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Works actuallz relatively good with like expensive bluetooth speakers like jbl. Still sound quality is different

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the airpods are a completely separate, non-mandatory purchase. there are a pair of digital earbuds, as well as an adapter for old headphones

9 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 26

"Digital earbuds", also known as bluetooth with apple encryption.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The adapter (which is $9 for 2 inches of copper wiring and some white plastic) doesn't come packed in either.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 24

The adapter may have a bunch of electronics in it too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The adaptor is definitely included

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's included in the box.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now look, our upset one of apples many sheep.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

Where Apple leads, other companies will follow...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

Yeah, like with Thunderbolt and Lightning connectors. Oh wait, there's just USB-C...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think this is true anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Im about to sound really old here, but what are digital earbuds?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Not analog. They use the lightning connector instead of the now removed aux.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

theoratically, the headphones are still analog. but the DAC and Amp has moved from the phone into the headphones itself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

[2]that doesnt make them sound better, but can result into a bad sound experience. the internal dac from the iphones was more than good

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But... they are analog. They just offloaded the converter from the phone to the ear buds.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The connection isn't analog is what I meant. :)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Again, you're gonna have to slow it down for me. The lightning connector is the charging port? So it's still using wires? That's digital?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The signal is digital. Speakers need to make the music go from digital to analog to play music through a converter(DAC). In phones, this1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, do you think all information is analog AS long as a wire is required? If that were true, there would be nothing that'd be digital.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but did they make 2 ports? no. charge OR listen. plugging it into the Car? you can but you'll have no battery left, or charge and no music.

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Orrr, you could get a USB car radio so you can do both at the same time???

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

So I would need a new car? No thanks. Happy with my Galaxy s7.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who said anything about a new car? In mine I can just pop the radio in and out to change it for a different one

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Join the future and get Bluetooth in your car for$20, great audio, no cables. Charge away.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or an aftermarket player that has usb inputs. Charge and play at the same time! Welcome to 2013!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Belkin have announced a 2 port lightning adapter. £35 but if you're buying a new Iphone then you're already moneybags McGee anyway.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

With Apple doing this, they should include a 2 port adapter as well. What a monstrosity that would be lol.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Always the counterpoint: "Well they have the adaptor" IT USED TO BE BUILT INTO THE FUCKING PHONE. That was the convenience of smartphones

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

GREAT let my put it by my other 17 fucking adapters or better yet, with my other cables so they can get tangled.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Did you look it up? The cable is only a few cm long, not likely to get tangled. As for 17 adapters, really? Pretty sure you can cut down.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Not if you have an upgrade available....pretty close to the same price as every other top phone.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But the option is there if you want to take it. Besides most modern car radios take music through usb anyway for Iphones at least.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

why is apple going backwards with their hardware?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

next thing they do is no ports. then you need to charge wireless.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More unnecessary accessories = more money in their pockets

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you really read about what they are doing, they aren't. I am very interested in their new Bluetooth chip and what it can do. 1/2
