My new ball python.

Hey Imgur, this is my new snake! Please offer advice for proper substrate. I'm getting mixed opinions, so someone with experience please help me out. No negative comments, please. Have a great day, everyone!

He's a pretty snake.

Paper towel for a new youngster. As adults, I use a mixture of coco fiber and reptile bark. Paper towel is great though

For a new snake plain white paper towel is best (lets you see any mites or oddities in waste).

Also a good idea to get him in a room temperature water bath (add a couple of veg oil) to help get that stuck shed off.

Ah. I should've skipped organic chemistry and taken herpetological chem instead.
