Amazing, the turtle is actually playing with the ball. We had a river turtle once, but a very shy one.

The tortoise will always win. That dog has 10-15 yrs to win. Tortoise has a century or more, he'll just wait it out.

That tortoise is so fast?

They can go fast if they want to; however, they usually prefer to take their time.

All tortoises are turtles, but not all turtles are tortoises.

In American English. The Brits don't use 'turtle' as a catch all term. It's turtle for sea, tortoise for land and terrapin for fresh water.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

that’s generally how it’s used in america too, but technically they’re all turtles

Scientifically, turtles encompass the entire order.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Scientifically the order is Testudines

For some reason this annoys me, but I don't know why. I mean why can't turtles be aquatic and tortoises be land based?
