Perler Bead Project

The final 26-hour project!

This is the biggest project I've ever done! It was a gift for my girlfriend for our anniversary. She choose the picture, but didn't know what I was going to do with it. She totally loved it at the big reveal! I'm super happy with the end product, even if there were a few bumps along the ride.

Aaaand then this disaster happened.

I was dumb. I ironed it like this: top left corner, top right corner, bottom right corner. I put books on every part after I finished ironing it so the edge of the picture was weighed down, but for some reason I didn't think about the edges in the middle of the picture. Result? Warping right in the middle of the thing. Blegh.

OH MY GOODNESS IT LOOKS OKAY?!

Yeah. After like 2 hours, I managed it make it not look so terrible. But, there's still the ugly gaps on both of her cheeks.

Solved

I cut beads in half and stuffed them in the gaps and ironed it. Result? No ugly gaps!

In the end it turned out great. I love how it turned out. But I think she may love how it turned out more.
