Need advice on building a website

Marketing "specialist" in over her head

This post isn't for points - just looking for someone to private message me if they have any helpful advice on this.

I've promised a client I would help build a website that I'm not sure how to build. (Stupid, I know. But sometimes I do stupid things.)

It is a brewery that is already up and running, but she wants her site to be mobile friendly (it currently isn't) and now sell merchandise as well. Does anyone have advice on a good platform that can do this?

(I've built simple websites before, but not ones that sell merch.)

THANK YOU to all of you! I've gotten some great advice, and it's very much appreciated!! You guys are the shit. I knew this was a good idea.

Yeah, dumb shop plug-in/service is way to go for beginners. Selling stuff via internet may come with a shitload of legislation, beware.
