The most gruesome part. Waiting for your turn to get on a track. 30c, little wind, sunny and full black leathers.

Here, I look great.

Here I look awesome.

Here, I am gloating of my first knee down.

Here I show you melted rubber of my rear Q3.

And this is the final result. Shattered right collarbone. 16 metal stitches, one metal plate and a few loose screws.

Looks worse than it feels.

One badass story behind one badass scar. I can hear the panties dropping from here

Bones heal. Pain is temporary. Chicks dig scars.

I broke my right collar bone in 4 places after falling off my bike last week, i didn't get a plate though, its healing nicely, i think

metal stitches are staples...

And the bike?? As a fellow Honda rider hopefully not a total loss?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Metal stitches, aka STAPLES. lol

Was this by any chance a company "team building" exercise?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

collarbone is a tough one. ALWAYS get up slowly and try to suppress any coughs or sneezes. it will still be hell

Look on the bright side, you are technically a MOTORCYCLING CYBORG

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Collarbone sucks but common injury in a high side (been track riding 7 years). Don't let it scare you away, it's always a learning sport.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whenever you think about how much the injury sucks, try to imagine what it would be like with no leathers,&the OR scrubbing gravel for an hr

I trust this goes without saying, hopefully this never happens again. Try to be more careful, and get well soon.

I feel your pain. I straightened out a curve and ended up curving my arm.

Post the x-rays if you can

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But you looked awesome doing it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That rear tire but spells gaaaaaas! Pain is temporary, glory is forever. Plus closed track. Makes a fat thumbs up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is the bike okay?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You need to review "gruesome". Kind of missed the target on that one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you regret it? looks like you had lots of fun, hopefully it doesn't impact your daily too negatively, and you can get back in the saddle!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it actually hurts worse than it looks. Broken collar bones fucking suck

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am jusst about through my first set of Q3s on my cbr. I'm getting another set. Hopefully it wasn't the tire failing you that caused this.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you feel it sliding out, upgrade - easy for ego to overcome grip as you get faster (almost two highsides on the Q before I upgraded).

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never tracked the Q. Backroad stuff is all I've done on this tire and they have been plenty good for the street. Good advice though!

But how's the bike...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Prolly totaled. Spill was at 120kph

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His parents took it to a farm.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Heal up! Details of the wreck?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Git gud

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I was taking a level 2 track course. So I was making good strides in lap time. Then shit happened, which it inevitably does to everyone.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

;-) just trolling man. It happens, means you're pushing yourself

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Wait til the drugs and adrenaline run out

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

High-side?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So....What happened?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Highside in a corner at 120kph

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm lucky Iowsided bad luck man how's the bike?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Totaled. But I can buy the scrapped bike and use it as a track bike.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Damn sorry to hear that hope it heals up soon though

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Be careful with the pain pills! This is how addiction starts...

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 4

Good lookin out!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I tried stopping on the second day. Didn't work out. I recently quit smoking and drinking, so I know how had it is to break an addiction.

Does medicinal marijuana work in this situation? I'm not a smoker but I'd be willing to give it a crack in this instance

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There's some kinds that work for pain, it's easy to build a tolerance to it though. It can get your mind off of it if that works for you.

I used narcotics regularly for my c-section for the first week, and every other day the week after. No problems. Wasn't allowed Advil :(

Is there a study behind this statistic? Perhaps the type of issues they're prescribed for? Because they're 100% legit for c-sections.

Cycling ibuprofen and Tylenol works for a lot of pain

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Tylenol puts less strain on your kidneys if you worry at all about those

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dat liver load tho

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Completely agree. People scoff at them because they're over the counter, but they're really fantastic meds.

What about Aleve?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Just take them with food to prevent heartburn.
