The Fall is an all-time favourite. People seem to either love or hate it bc of the storytelling but it's definately worth giving it a try.
TheDudeThatIsMo
You put The Fall in the thumbnail. You get my upvote.
foxymuldershoulers
Diving bell and the butterfly was great. Will make you cry.
alrightokayohsure

Afreshbathofsarcasm
vivier
One of the most powerful scene ever.
WarrenCheeseBurger
Embrace of the Serpent is a damn fine movie.
thewickerchair
I saw it at an outdoor screening in Berlin. Both actors for Karamakate were spectacular...and both are genuine indigenous people!
flippingbear
It's beautiful :)
Dedgeton
Talking to a friend and blanked on a movie title and said "You know.. the movie with all the scenes..." He replied:"...The Fall?" Priceless
KennethMChaves

I always upvote New Zealand and our brilliant Vampire comedy, What we do in the shadows - soon to have its own spin off show as well.

I watching the original 'The Wave' back in the 90s. The teacher just played the first half the 1st day. Amazed by how many kids started 1

Land of Mine is a really good movie about how Denmark treated the German prisoners of war post World War 2.
downvotedogupvotecat
Aaah just about to rewatch The Fall, couldn't remember what it was called and found by googling 'heroin hospital surreal adventure film'
DeusExSpockina
The Fall is like watching a story filmed in paintings. Its absolutely gorgeous.
TheCommissar1020
We had to watch The Wave in high school, holy shit it made me shudder.
HunterAaron
It's almost a must watch at school in Germany (or at least where I live)
ITSMRTORGUEYELLINGSTUFF
It is, I know no body who hasn't watched it at school, and it's a very important and educational film
HunterAaron
Indeed and it also introduced Germany to Elyas M'Barek
SmellOfMonkey
Out of these I've only seen A Prophet. It's rather good
digivirus

Tobeeornottobee
Upvoted for The Fall, truly amazing film. Then I tried to upvote again for The Brand New Testament. Life changing movie.
punkinface
Ah, I see I've made it to the comments where everyone got as excited as I did by "The Fall" and skipped the rest to come brag.
ElinborgTheViking
I cried more while watching The Fall than I have over any other movie. Maybe because I'm a writer, I don't know...
punkinface
Also, The Fall is amazing.

Can you chill out with this fucking hivemind?
myloaf
For me, it was "The Wave". Not so many fellows there
ForSomeAbstractReason
Nothing quite as horrible as watching an amazing movie, and being surrounded by people who will never watch it. So frustrating.
KeeleonOhms
I've wanted to watch it but couldn't find it anywhere.
myloaf
The Wave is actually 'Die Welle' originally, if that makes the search any easier..
ForSomeAbstractReason
The Fall is nowhere, except to be purchased on Google or something. It sucks.
thisgamesuxx
Love love love Broken Circle Breakdown. Still listen to the soundtrack on the regular.

BaconLady
My favorite movie. Love it.
MechanicalGodhand
The description sounds like a poor man's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, but I'm guessing it's more than that?
KeeleonOhms
It is similar, but much prettier and less silly.
newsguycraigevans
Oh yeah, I don't think I would even compare the two. Very different.
chimchim666
Not similar. The Fall is worth watching just for the visuals, and it's truly engaging and moving as well
benj1008
Much more.Just watch it. :) One of my favorites.

Is it really sad? Also, I didn't know Macklemore got his start in acting.
heynowjesse
oh, i completely sobbed at the end after a certain fall.
imasterbatetoearlobes
The story in my opinion is hard to grasp at first but doesn't have a sad ending
Rin007
How is gun violence not sad?
lpgeek
the 4th act makes the wee lass cry
irnarale
The Fall is one of my favorite movie of all time!

Somanyquestions

There are so many, but you might try Jeux d'enfants if you're into twisted romance. I watched it more than 20 times.

SevenOfWine
I love anything by Tarsem!
irnarale
Immortals was bad, though. Awesome visuals, terrible storyline.
ProfessorMatt
Agreed. Brilliant visual style.
kingloofa455
Doesn't it feel at times the little girl in that movie isn't acting? Like she doesn't even know it's a movie? Brilliant movie.
ProfessorMatt
SPOILER: Because of a miscommunication, the girl thought that Lee Pace was an actual paraplegic, and 1/2
ProfessorMatt
2/2 because it made her performance more believable, the director let her (and the rest of the crew) believe that, as well.
kingloofa455
Wow that's fascinating. It felt so genuine. Thanks a lot ProfessorMatt
CthulhuPanda
What we Do in the Shadows is one of my favorite movies. Same director as Thor Ragnarok, so I'm not sure what to expect from it now.
tonythetard
Sometimes I feel like there only person who hated that movie.
Kiwijerm
And English.
WhatTheFrog
I love it!

Taika Waititi is a very talented director. Watch some of his other films, I'm confident he will do well with Thor.
KeeleonOhms
It does concern me that all the Thor "viral" content were seeing is very silly mockumentary stuff. I don't want Thor to be a comedy....
dolfeusdeo
They just came out with a new one that is awesome called "Hunt for the Wilderpeople"
codedreplies
gunterleeds
And it was Petyr! And we're still friends today.
Superchief86
The creators of Eagle vs Shark though? That makes me unsure about seeing it. I hated that fucking movie so much!
serialkillazjungle
Whilst I didn't HATE Eagle Vs Shark, W.W.D.I.T.S is much MUCH better. You will hopefully love it :)
Leithreas
I mean, it's Taika Waititi, who made Boy. Which is awesome. And Jemaine Clement. So of course it kicks ass.
kingloofa455
And Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Also great.
TheSwedishStag
Just watched that the other day, his films are legendary.
