It's tail tip is really shiny. Almost holographic. It doesn't show up as well in the photo.

One of the stink bug species out there.

Look up the kissing bug, they can spread chagas disease which kills 10-15K people a year, so dont let it near you.

It didn't act weird or anything. There's a scan disk below it that I have to scan once an hour and it didn't even react to me. It chilled.

Looks like some form of what is commonly called a stink bug

I can see that but I'm very familiar with stink bugs. I think this is more of a stick bug relation. I could be wrong though.

That head tho. Did you try Google image match?

I haven't yet.

@OP It's hard to tell from the angle but I think it's a cogwheel assassin bug (Arilus cristatus). They're so cool, and one of my favorites!

I do believe you're correct. Sorry for such a late response.

Not a problem, I was rather late to answer myself. Looking at it again now, I'm certain that's what it is.

Assassin beetle. They are cool as hell.

You're the third or fourth person to say that. Are they dangerous?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They call them kissing bugs too because of their affinity for biting people by the lips. No joke. Not poisonous. Just a bite.

I mean they can spread chagas. But it's rare.

Hello......Assassin beetle.....

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the tl;dr of it is some are medically significant, most just painful, and if you say what area you found it in I could probably get the-

exact species.

Hey, thank you for the information. That's pretty cool.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't let it bite ya cause it hurts a lot eh.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What is it?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Another one it could be is a seed bug, but the advice remains the same.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If my guess is right it's a variation of the stink bug species of insects.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're the second person to say that. I thought it might be some form of stick bug.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My last guess is a wheel bug. A variation of the assassin bugs. Hope it helps!
