You can take something as "peaceful" as Buddhism and find the most cruel shit done in its name. Religion is not a source of morals, to the contrary they all project their own morals onto the story and since it's fiction it's as valid as any other interpretation.
This is also the reason why it's not very effective calling them "false" Christians, unless you can prove Christianity or whatever religion you choose, which we can't for obvious reasons.
The reason why they claim persecution is because it allows them to break the rules and still claim to be moral. Because if they're persecuted by an unfair system then they don't have to be a part of it. In other words, it's just a rationalization for selfishness.
Conservative christians are like the guy in the bar who's being aggressive & antagonizing everybody within earshot (loudly voicing intolerant opinions on subjects nobody asked about, while getting right up in everyone's face) who invariably is shocked & appalled when someone in the bar has had enough. They wanna rant at the top of their lungs while poking you in the chest until for everyone's sake you take a swing - then they will play the part of the meek, unassuming & injured party.
I made the mistake of talking to one of those abrasive guys once at my local watering hole. I got verbally steamrolled on everything from football to women (his oppinon on them was a bit medieval). So when he got up for a bathroom break I accidentally stretched my leg and blamed a sudden cramp for sitting down too long. He was not amused when he crawled up from the floor. Lucky for me the bouncers saw the telltale signs and escorted him outside. I sipped my cold one, pretty pleased with myself.
they are not being held accountable for "not acting like jesus", they are being called out on them being huge pieces of shit, and they feel persecuted because they don't like being reminded what they are.
Me practically any time I hear anyone moaning about how haaard it is to be Christian. First of all 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵, not in this country. But also I'm sorry were you under the impression that being like Jesus was 𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙮?! Because IIRC it wasn't exactly a cakewalk for him, sooo. I mean there's a whole damn book about it. You knew what this was.
Depends, is a "real man of god" someone who tries to act like Jesus would act, or is a "real man of god" someone who loudly and often proclaims "I am a man of god" regardless of their actual actions? Imo, the first one is what counts. Even if he's an atheist pretending to be a pastor for the video, he's still more "godly" than many "actual" pastors around the country.
Nobody's holding them accountable for not acting like Jesus (in fact, please don't, at least not the biblical Jesus, the Romans killed him for a good reason) -- we just don't want your views shoved down our throats, and a good portion of us already know the bible far better than most christians.
Nope. If there were proof of a gods existence, it would be self evident. Asking for proof is a cop out to stop the faithful from admitting they've been conned.
I mean… doesn't it? (Getting called out, ridiculed, discredited, 𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥, fired, etc… these are classic consequences of bullshittery.) It's a hell of a lot closer to being held accountable than it is to being persecuted anyway.
Your fine with people burning the American flag literally where 911 happened??? What's wrong with you. You can be upset with our government but we need to be patriotic of our country and take care of the people we have around us.
The actual assault on democracy by Americans on January 6th and by American lawmakers still in office today and one running for president are actual problems for true patriots. Look past iconography and see what true enemies of America are doing.
I would rather you destroy the symbol of the country I love, than use that symbol to justify everything it is meant to oppose. In an age where the flag is used to justify murder, intolerance, oppression, blind obedience, and division, burning the flag is a small offence, one that can be easily forgiven.
Some rude people tries to rile you up, successfully. Are they really worth your time and anger? The police should be able to deal with that. You got bigger issues to deal with. Like working to make sure your country is worth your patriotism. Cant give patriotism for free just because you were born there.
We need patriotism as in caring about the welfare of our people, not patriotism as in supporting crooks and fascists who DARE to hide behind a flag of a country that means less than nothing to them. And since burning flags is completely irrelevant to the welfare of people, we all have far more important things to worry about.

They aren't losing jobs because they love Jesus though mostly because of hate posts. Like that Catholic Supreme Court Judge isn't reading Pope quotes.
