These are definitely “you’re gonna need to adapt” times. A lotta people can’t imagine that, so for them there’s no difference.

I mean, either way you'd know how to swim

It is always the end times for someone. But life will keep chugging until the earth is set a blaze by the sun in a billion years.

Swimming is fun. Once you learn you can play Marco Polo.

The only thing you can take with you is your money.

if you ever wonder if you should learn how to swim... the answer is almost always yes. Its a borderline essential skill in some situations, like knowing how to tie a good knot or build a fire. Or basic first aid like cpr. Very low skill floor, wide application skills are always worth learning

It’s a way to make themselves feel better.. “well what can you do it’s all over..” aside from the fact that certain people use this to prey on people.

Basically feed in to it over and over and over.

It’s no different that any other abusive relationship and anyone is susceptible to it if they aren’t aware.

End times? Meh. Are things changing? Yup.

As a Florida / Georgia resident....I'm looking back on things I learned 40 years ago in scouting and ensuring I have some things in the vehicle in case something does happen while out.

But end end bible thumping end end....that's up to you and your faith. Is there good out there? Yes. Is there enough of it? Not enough IMO.

It’s always ‘end times’ to some group.

pool floaties are cheap. maybe buy a inflatable raft if your super worried. air tight food and water storage are a much more realistic and important items tbh.

I've been hearing this from my religious folks ever since I could remember

Remember surviving the apocalypse isn’t about being a loner. It’s about banding together with cooperative individuals and leveraging your collective skills against individual strength. In short, apes together strong.

Knowing how to swim is always a good thing. Also, it has been "the end times" for the last 2000 odd years. Take comfort in that.

It’s been the end times forever it seems. Taking a while tbh.

Biblically, the Great Tribulation (end times) last 7 years IIRC

Learning to swim is not a bad idea, but if you are still at that level, I'd make alternate plans to save yourself this time round.

Swimming is the last ditch backup plan in any case.

My mom has been saying that for 40 years.

most religions have been saying that for the last couple thousand years

All the writers of the books in the New Testament thought that it would happen in their lifetime. Moving the goalpost time and again.

Some say the end is near
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bullshit three-ring
Circus sideshow of
Freaks
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away
Any fucking time, any fucking day
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay
Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your Prozac and
Fret for your pilot and

I like your rant. I’m somewhat in agreement. I sometimes wonder what the effing point is.
