Fashioned the mask via pepakura method

Adding paper mache

Tiny little teeth all wrapped in paper mache

Paper mache and teeth all on

A few coats of gesso

Painted it up and added gloss

Now for a cuppa tea

*Edit*
I got the pepakura template at www.onekura.com

I need this to make an overseer mask

I would pay money for this... good job OP

So thats polygon modeling in paper. If someone could do the marking and fine cuts to make bending easier, I could be really good with that.

The first view pictures reminded me of the overseers from dishonored

+1 for Pepakura.

Do you have a good template for that mask?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What the hell is the paprika method?

For the record: this type of mask is called a mempo. Awesome job!

as a 3d artist, the topology was pretty spot on as well

Thanks Ali's barber

Where'd you find the pepakura for it? I have a project I could use that on

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Onekura.com. They've got tons of free templates.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now add a big white mustache!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neat, but how did it go from looking menacing to "surprised DBZ character" when you put it on?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because I'm a surprised DBZ character, obviously.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 Could have sworn that was the start of an overseer mask.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of you will get this...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Had to look it up and yes, it looks quite similar.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a very long mug

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh wow! I am really impressed!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Where do you get your pepakura files? :D

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Onekura.com

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks! Been looking for something like this!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Next make the Red Devil mask from Avatar! That'd be sweet!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I can find the diagram for it, maybe. My next project is probably going to be a daedric helmet.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's sweet too!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So many tiny folds, @OP. That must have been a pain...but I know how it feels, building Halo helmets using pepakura....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. It wasn't as tedious as the Smoke mask I made prior to this one. My next project is gonna be a Daedric helmet. So that should be fun.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Woo, boy! Good luck! Lots of sizing. Been down that road too, while just learning. :P

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wish I could do it proper with carbon fiber, bondo, etc. But lack of ventilated space kinda hinders that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP is confirmed a weeb.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 9

Someone has an interest in Japan? Better use the weeb joke wrongly and farm some points.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wouldnt have used the weeb joke if I had played mortal kombat x.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kenshi is from mortal Kombat tho...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You would be on to something...cept I'm not into anime....nor do I have much interest in Japanese culture. I'm more of a Teaboo/Anglophile.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

You should start,m8. Shows like rurouni kenshin or samurai champloo will keep u riding.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I've tried. Most of the story lines are a bit too slow for me.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I don't get it. Like what kind of paper is that in the first pic? How do you get it to shape like that? What do all the numbers mean?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used cardstock. The numbers are there so you know which pieces go to which. Think of it like puzzle pieces.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmmm...and how does it shape like that and keep it? One thing I find weirdest is how each square looks as if it were made JUST for the

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its a bunch of individually cut out pieces of cardstock.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The section it's in and wasn't the same dimensions as a bunch of other squares in a sheet of paper. Guess I gotta look more into this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just google pepakura.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will. Could use it to make a dragon priest mask someday (when I get the time)!
