How is 22C cold? Come to Winnipeg Bbitch. 22C is a scorching summer day here.

As a man from the tropics that's way too low

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I just always have a scarf in my bag.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well,,,22 is kinda cold

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hila, turn the light off! It's triggering me!

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

22 centigrade is a proper A/C temperature

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

*Triggered

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw "Stop sexting air conditioning". Was confused.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it's actually more about the temperature for optimal brain function.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its because women wear less to work.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate being hot..you can always put more clothes on, but you can only take so many off..

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 6

Tried that once. I dont work there anymore.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

what a time to be alive.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's getting nippy in here....I'll let myself out.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

It is a tit bit nipply. We breast turn on the hooter.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

h3h3productions made a funny video about this, worth looking up

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sauce?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was looking for someone to say that. h3h3 is hilarious. Wow Ethan, great moves

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

22 is pretty darn warm. Especially in the winter. As a Canadian I'm happy with 19 in the winter. 3 degrees is a big heating bill increase.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I like my apartment to be a toasty 24 degrees, why wear clothes if you dont have to?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone from the Southern US 21-22°C sounds like a pleasant day.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read this story on another American site. The headline is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, it's just talking about how it feels colder to women.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'm not sure what's worse. The fact that she thinks that or the fact that there are several thousand people who agree with her.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

the time to hear out the points being argued by each side, instead believing the cherrypicked screenshot is an entire argument, is stupid3/3

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If you had watched her video (ie actually listened to her argument), you would have found that she has a scientific point. You can argue 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I watched the video, but she's still wrong. Just because women feel the cold more than men doesn't mean it's sexism. That's idiotic.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that her point is weak and does not justify making any changes (and I would agree with you), but entering the conversation without taking2/3

SHIT JUST GOT REAL

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

This is the base article, with the research cited in the 3rd paragraph. Posting the Nature link requires you to buy the article.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Also, she's not wrong, but it is intentionally inflammatory and that always bugs me.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Not wrong about women being colder. Wrong about AC tempatures being sexist though.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Something is sexist if it intentionally favours one gender. Like how heart attack info tends to be sexist (showing only male symptoms)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Intentionally is a keyword here. Nobody decidede "hey women should die of heart attack more often". It was the result of men having heart

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Attacks in higher frequens previusly that led to information focousing on men. Now more women expirences heart attacs and so more focus on

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Female symptoms. Just like the increase in obesity is causing more men to develop breast cancer and so more info about male symptoms a

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A little silly but real talk, as a chick WHY AM I ALWAYS SO COLD

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

And this is why we snuggle.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Swear to god they keep the thermostat in the motherfucking 50s (Fahrenheit) all year round! I shiver like a chihuahua nonstop

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel you. I'm anemic. Fucking freezing always lol.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because women's office wear can be something light and airy like a breezy skirt and short sleeved top, whereas men wear black nylon pants /1

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

2/ and a long sleeved cotton shirt with a tie. That's part of her complaint, that she wants to wear cool clothes and is then cold...

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm wearing dress pants with a sweater and a under shirt and its still fucking freezing.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't get me wrong, my office is like the Arctic, but that's because the AC has 2 settings: Off or frigid gale, not sexism.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm a dude. Office is fucking freezing. Send gasoline.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean my nipples get hard in Phoenix, AZ in the summer!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

put on a fucking sweater, 'cause I promise you don't want to see me take my shirt off.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you are cold, put on a sweater. Or stop complaining when I take off my pants. Up to you.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 9

That's cold.

10 years ago | Likes 492 Dislikes 9

You're so cool

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burrrn

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thats perfect

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah seriously, 23 is perfectly comfortable for most people innit? A few will be warm and a few will be cold but MOST will be happy.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As an American living in Europe, I keep my house at 21C.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

FYI environmentally, cooling should be set at 24-25C, heating at 18-19C

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

shouldn't it be "live in a hole in the ground using no power"? since i can't do it "enviornmentally", I'm gonna be comfortable at around 22C

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it means Celsius rather than Fahrenheit.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

So that's what the big C is, figures.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah it even says it. You can't expect me to scroll the WHOLE way back up and check!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Even if that was true, it's easier for a woman to put a sweater on than it is for a guy to cool himself down.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

True enough: My engineering textbook even notes the difference between cooling requirements for men and women. Mainly driven by fashion...

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

22 seems like a fair median between a woman's nipples being hard and a man's ball sweat dripping down his legs.

10 years ago | Likes 126 Dislikes 7

As I man, I'd be freezing my balls off at 22.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Does that really happen?? Does ball sweat really drip down legs?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"Dude. Did you piss yourself?" "What? *looks down* No that's sweat."

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When I don't wear underwear.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes. The few times I've needed to wear a tuxedo in the Deep South my pants were like a sauna.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

omg

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our manager insists on it being 23 - I have a fan on my desk to keep cool

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

And now you see a significant positive of farenheight. Greater thermostat precision..do metric thermostats have decimals?

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 23

No, but I doubt the sensors would be accurate enough to make it worthwhile.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

With no physical exertion, sitting at your desk, you're warm at 23? That's insane to me. I'd be so cold.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sorry, but 22 feels like Satan's sweaty taint. 15 is perfect. Sincerely, Canadian Female.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can't take more clothing off to cool down, cold people (gurs or girls) can put a sweater on.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

This is a common argument that doesn't take into account that male and female business wear is different. Touch some mens jeans vs womens /1

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

jeans for example. Womens clothes are usually made of much thinner material. But also, both men and women have been shown to perform /2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Thiiiiiiisssssssss

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

better at all sorts of tasks when at warmer temperatures. /3

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes but I'm not doing anything well while sweating my balls off

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There IS a middle ground you know, you don't have to ramp it up to Mordor right off the bat.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When you find an effective way to explain that to cold people you let me know #imahumanfurnace

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in a house where my roommate keeps it icy. Try typing 5 hours straight when you can see your breath, I hate people who like the cold.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Im from the UK, if the heat goes over like 15-17 degrees i start to melt

So you are cold like 98% of the time?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Srsly what the hell. If I cannot hang at home in t-shirt and shorts its too cold.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So you dont wear t-shirts at -5? Weirdo. :P

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't go on holiday to hot places except in the winter. After 20 degrees

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As an Aussie, under 18°C is too cold, above 40°C is too hot.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen 40c here in Texas. I played American football in it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm from the US, you're going to get hypothermia.

10 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 2

15-17 in celsius is 59-63 in normal

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As some one who likes his apartment at 80 I see no fault in the original statement. Hypothermia is dangerous, why chance it?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But 80 celsius is shitfuckinghot in normal!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aussie here, I worked in a place where you'd wear a coat in summer. Outside 37c inside 17c.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a Finn, you don't kno nutin'.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Southern NZ, my ideal temp is around the 10-12 degree mark. Apparently I'm a freak lol.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Care to put those in freedom numbers?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a British, I concur with this sentiment. 18°C is ideal for me, maybe up to 21°C if the weather is good.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

15*C is good for me. Sub 10 *C if I'm moving about

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The AC at my work doesn't go below 18 :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My apartment is 20-22 degrees. I dont understand how this is sexist.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Canada here, -20 is T-shirt weather

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm from Belgium, I'm still cold at 25°C.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As a Texan, I'm cold at 27°C and frozen to death at 12°C. (I'd like to thank Google for its conversions)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a Norwegian, 15 sounds just about right. Hard nipples > Sweaty viking. I think most would agree.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Um... I kind of like sweaty vikings. But also like hard nipples to nipple pinchy. It's a win/win/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know. I think I'd need to see for myself ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, you're in luck! I'll be sweating my way through Gatwick airport tomorrow, carrying about 50 kilos worth of luggage!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pics or it didn't happen. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually offices tend to be kept colder to accommodate men wearing suits (which tend to be kind of hot on account of the layers) so this 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 5

Additionally, men and women tend to be comfortable at different temperatures.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not always true. It's to counter body/technology heat. People are more likely to be ornery when it's too hot versus when it's too cold.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

It's ALWAYS way too hot at work and I'd rather put on a fucking sweater than be on the verge of vomiting because I'm dizzy from the heat.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

as a facilities manager, I can say that every building I have managed has had about 5% complainers, no matter the HVAC systems in use

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

isn't entirely unfounded. However the problem could be easily solved by just adopting less rigid dress codes. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 5

Or women adhering to dress codes insted of calling them sexist?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

there was a study about ditching suits to fight climate change.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Also women who have hot flashes turn it down. OMG ITS NOT A ONE SIDED ISSUE?!?!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Except it couldn't - because most men are still hot in t-shirts if it's above 21-22°C.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

"..most men..":generalization, the post

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As someone from the Southern US 21-22°C sounds like a pleasant day to me.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ditto.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in Athens, GA Saturday and it was raining and in the mid 60s F and there were girls wearing shorts skirts and light dresses.
