"What do you do with all your art?" Stare at it until I hate it

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is why I don't art , my art doesn't work and it gives people eye cancer.

What does loving The Smiths have to do with watching indie films?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Said the hipster artist.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Because number 4 refer to number 3 refer to number 2.

I would imagine outside the UK they're obscure. Also they're hella pretentious

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it counts only if you watch Begotten at least 3 times a day with your kids.

Having just come back from the Netherlands, do people still paint like the Dutch Golden Age? And if not, do one of you know why?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's some, I suppose photography, electricity and subject matter has changed how portraiture looks now.Try Mitch Griffiths & Roberto Ferri

I've always wanted an artist partner. I've more or less given up the hobby myself but the soul still burns now and then.

I got myself an artist. His day job is being a chef, so he doesn't have much time to draw anymore. But when he does, it's amazing!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thought so too. I'm a visual artist on the side of things. Got myself a genuine artist. Near went mad. Interesting times, wouldn't repeat.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't. We're all broke, bipolar addicts.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#5 doing those things doesn't make one an artist, but most artists do those things, thus making the stereotype.

I hate art students. I swear they feel like they are being graded on the amount of edge they show in every aspect of their lives.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

P.S. I'm an art student

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually took a college painting course to improve my brushwork with warhams, got a lecture from the instructor about how it's not art.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude, I know, I just want to get better at painting my dumb spaceman dollies.

As someone who has a BA in fine arts and is an Art Teacher, I can verify the Cassandra Comic. That is real!

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh snap I forgot the F in my post. Uh idk. I have a BFA.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have any recommendations for painting models?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So very true.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

what is the difference between the pencils?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

See my replies to @TrueUnpopularPuffin above

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

never mind someone beat me to it! :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

H stands for Hardness of the lead, B for Blackness. The higher nr on H pencils, the more fine lines. Higher nr on B = softer/darker lines.

I would like to know the difference between a H pencil and a B pencil...from a girl of course...

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I'm actually just curious what the difference is. I'll Google it and be back with the results. Sorry though, I'm a dude.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's just the hardness/softness of the pencil creating lighter or darker lines. H is hard. B is soft.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hardness. The difference is hardness.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So the difference is hardness of the graphite. There's a scale from 1B (softest) to 9H (hardest). The rating affects the shade of gray.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The density of the "lead", which alters the darkness and thickness of the mark left. (Or, as Spain was hoping I'd say: hardness of the lead)

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What are you wearing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clothes, probably.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Niiice. P.s before we go any further, I need to know if you are a girl.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably. But who knows? Maybe I have a fabulous mustache.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure, I'll bite: it stands for how hard & black it is.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Hmm...interesting. Go on...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Soo...which is the hardest and blackest? Asking for a friend.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tyrone.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a serious answer, I believe 1B is softest, making thick, dark marks. I can't recall how far H goes, but higher means thinner/lighter.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As far as I know: 9B is the blackest/softest and 9H the hardest.
